- Filmed over 3 weekends in February/March at a variety of locations around the North West of England, this video documents Alastair "Ali C" Clarkson's early experiments with brakeless trials riding on-board his Inspired street bike. Drawing on a variety of influences from other trials riders, BMX and mountain biking, Ali's riding is a creative and innovative mix of new and old school.

Absolutely sick riding.. super props to anyone that can ride like that.. thanks to my disabilities i cant ride anymore, so watching videos like this are very inspiring.. the freedom and control that one can achieve when on top of a rock, ledge, or rail is an amazing feeling... screw the idiots that dislike this.. either they have tried and failed pitifully, or never tried.. don't judge that of which you do not know.. just the skill alone is admirable, let alone the sport itself.
The manual at the end.. the whole riding.. without brakes.. ABSOLUTE AWESOME DUDE!

I love this style of riding, where all styles are mixed together. Shows a true love for biking, no matter what style you ride. Plus BRAKELESS!!!! Can you say SICK!!!!

just linked over here from your preston tuesday night trials vid. Great stuff. I had no idea you ever rode brakeless regularly. Its so smooth looking. Looks like a necessary learning tool for trials in general. Amazing!! Time to go take my brakes off and tape a knee pad to my butt.

He's one of the nicest chilled out guys you will ever meet. I used to see him around hebden bridge a lot. Me and friend rode with him cos he's a friend of his parents and he just casually did a backflip on the local skatepark 3 times like it was nothing! Gotta love his riding :)

@armedwithturtles He is riding a bike made by Inspired, hence "An Inspired". It's a prototype 26" bike which will hopefully be available some time soon.

@TheHackerzproduction Inspired fourplay frame. Inspired platform pedals...pivotal saddle, maxxis tires.. most likely a Hope Pro II hub of some sort ...And whatever else he's got.

@Pur3PT the bike this guy is running is an Inspired. Though the specs obviously differ. 24" trial bikes are relatively new. A decent one can cost around £1000 (USD1600), give or take a few hundred £.

@azamzzr250 No, he's running the Inspired FourPlay, except he took the brakes off for extra difficulty. Also, he was probably a bmxer or fixie rider before trials bikes, and didnt use brakes on those.

Love watching Ali C ride, esp. on this and the Summer Air video. To my untrained eye he seems as good as Danny Mac, just a different riding style.
But brakeless?!! Is riding with brakes not a challenge for you any more?

@csharpappdev I thought that- better for viewing. But I think the point is it becomes more fluid and not so disjointed like an artform rather than a whole bunch of clever tricks.

@z6SiX6z The angle he lands on the rock, and because he is slightly pushing on the pedals to go against that angle, so he doesn't move.
