This is actually street trials, sorry for correcting you, but the bikes are actually completely different. a lot of the moves done here arent possible on a bmx.

Advice please, I just bought a hardtail mountain bike but I think I’d have much more fun with a trials bike like this, since the mountain bike is just too heavy to even hop, however can you still take trials bikes on long long journeys eg through woods hills etc

Due to the nearly 1:1 gearing on a trials bike it isnt really nice to ride long distances on trials bikes, I own a hardtail aswell and can tell you that most trials moves can be done, even on heavier ones (mine is about 15 kilograms). its harder to go big on a mountainbike. but I would reccomend to have multiple bikes for the different diciplines or just stick with the hartail until you can do some basic trials moves like backhops, trackstands and bunnyhops. have fun riding.

He is sponsored, but it's not by redbull, it's by trials specific companies (the style of riding he's doing here), so no one takes notice. I've spoken to him a few times, he's also incredibly knowledgable about this sort of stuff

You should re-upload this w/ music that matches the epic nature of the riding here. That song is a really poor choice in my opinion and completely takes away from the overall feel.
