AmBeRaZaNu You do trim it. Because when you start growing out hair you gotta go for trims and haircuts as regular. neckhairs that tickle and hurt/uncomfortable. Sideburns. etc.... Trimming. It depends on your hairstyle, really. You gotta maintain what you are going for. but if you are growing it on top, then dont really trim it at the top. just from the back/sides. thats what I meant
Lycosa my hair is a foot long you don't trim it until it's the length you want it but I do suggest trimming it once you're happy with the length because it can tend to look scraggly and you might just want to clean everything up so you're right man
as someone who's growing his hair, trimming your hair while it's growing just makes the awkward stage last longer. It's like a balding person trying to cover his baldspot. It's still gonna look awkward. All i can say is just deal with it somehow, by either not giving a fuck or wearing a hat.

I figured I'd take the time to clear up some confusion with balding and maybe help some of you out there. I'm 23 now but I started going bald at 14. There seems to be a lot of confusion on what causes male pattern baldness. Genetics and environment influence this. If you reduce stresses by eating well and drinking lots of water you can prevent stress on your body and the transcription of DNA that is produced during stressful conditions and therefore reduce hair loss. Environment affects the regions of DNA that are transcribed, and there is a lot of evidence suggesting "American Diet" triggers these genes to be activated resulting in pre-mature hair loss (Conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone). It's a lot of mumbo jumbo, but DNA methylation turns transcription of your good DNA off. Bad foods trigger your body to do this through many different was. Now, everyone's DNA has a different affinity (or attraction) for methyl groups in the areas (since we all have different DNA) that are transcribed under a non stressful environment within your body, so for some people it is very hard to get a methyl group there, so they won't bald, but others it can easily happen too. I'm not sure anyone know's exactly the mechanism for dihydrotestosterone, but dht is a steroid hormone which means it is relatively non-polar and can go through the phospholipid bilayer of your cell membranes. This means it goes into your cells and affects cellular functions. I would imagine somewhere in there is where it causes your cells to be in a state of stress and shunt nutrients to somewhere else instead of the hair follicle because hair has less of a priority than something such as the brain. It must interact with the DNA or something that interacts with the DNA because your DNA is the same in every cell, but the DNA available to be transcribed is different in each type of cell (giving each cell their own physical appearance). Somehow, only the cells that transcribe DNA on the top of the head for hair are affected so I would imagine the portion of DNA that allows healthy hair to be formed is sensitive to methylation depending on the person. That means that even though every cell has the same DNA, only the cells that produce hairs have that portion of DNA available to be transcribed (otherwise you'd have all hair cells in your body). There's actually a lot more to the DNA portion than that, but that is what we know about it in a nutshell. I tried everything to prevent total balding and when nothing worked I changed my lifestyle. I found I had to eat only fruits and vegetables, water, and vitamin supplements (including the limiting resources necessary for hair growth) without any cheat days and I also scrubbed my scalp in hopes to dilate the capillary beds in the follicles to provide more nutrients to my hair (the living portion in the root). I see people mentioning masturbating causes hair loss without trying to understand what causes hairloss. Not masturbating probably won't prevent hair loss (every person is different and have different levels of hormones, affinities, receptors, and hypersensitivities to these changes so I won't say it is impossible but very unlikely). I would focus more on Alpha's philosophy. Once I started eating better I became much healthier, felt amazing and really stopped caring about hair nearly as much. Haha Alpha thoroughly researches before posting videos, so you might want to check his one out about hair loss. He does a great job with it and if you are looking for ways to not go bald, I would start there.

A styling tip for you gents out there: Use coconut oil instead of pomade. Apply a small finger amount and rub it together until the chunks dissolve completely, then style your hair as usual. Will control frizz and hold the shape without feeling stiff. Plus the nutrients absorb into your follicle to create shiny, healthy looking hair. Just don't apply too much or your hair will look and feel greasy. A small dab on the fingertip will work. You're welcome.

These are my thoughts after learning how does hair grow naturally. Three important key concepts, Blood, protein, and natural oils. All of them are key in the process of growing hair. So I asked myself, how can I speed up the process of growing hair? brushing hair with a good comb that penetrates to the scalp, ( you can feel the blood pumping around your hair after) , eat food high in proteins like beef, and just wash my hair once a week so that the natural oils would have the time to do their job. buzz lightyear just use conditioner every day and about 2/3 days of the week use shampoo Try this schedule Monday-Shampoo AND conditioner Tuesday-Conditioner Wednesday-Conditioner Thursday-Shampoo AND conditioner Friday-Conditioner Saturday-Conditioner Sunday-Conditioner Each day of using conditioner keep it in your hair for about 5 minutes, I personally wash my hair and put conditioner in it and wash my body and after I'm don't washing my body I rinse the conditioner out. I had heavy dandruff from overly washing it and this seemed to help dramatically

Lemme tell ya how I got hear. Long while back going a year ago..my barber shaved one side of my hair way to high making it look like my hair was cut in half with a bad comb over. I'd continue going back and he would follow the same pattern over and over as it was easier for him. Today I got it fixed by bringing the shaved in line down farther. But only one problem that the little patch where it was too high was finger length already meaning I had to give up the rest including my front floof. AmBeRaZaNu You do trim it. Because when you start growing out hair you gotta go for trims and haircuts as regular. neckhairs that tickle and hurt/uncomfortable. Sideburns. etc.... Trimming. It depends on your hairstyle, really.
You gotta maintain what you are going for. but if you are growing it on top, then dont really trim it at the top. just from the back/sides. thats what I meant
Lycosa my hair is a foot long you don't trim it until it's the length you want it but I do suggest trimming it once you're happy with the length because it can tend to look scraggly and you might just want to clean everything up so you're right man

In high school, I grew my hair out a little past my shoulders for a couple of years. Ever since then my hair grows super slow. Recently a co-worker of mine and I both went about 2 months without a haircut. I went from a shaved head to bearly being able to kind of spike it up meanwhile he went from a short clean cut look to having a damn ponytail. I've been wanting to grow my hair out but my awkward phase lasts so long. Hope some of these tips help.

I figured I'd take the time to clear up some confusion with balding and maybe help some of you out there. I'm 23 now but I started going bald at 14. There seems to be a lot of confusion on what causes male pattern baldness. Genetics and environment influence this. If you reduce stresses by eating well and drinking lots of water you can prevent stress on your body and the transcription of DNA that is produced during stressful conditions and therefore reduce hair loss. Environment affects the regions of DNA that are transcribed, and there is a lot of evidence suggesting "American Diet" triggers these genes to be activated resulting in pre-mature hair loss (Conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone). It's a lot of mumbo jumbo, but DNA methylation turns transcription of your good DNA off. Bad foods trigger your body to do this through many different was. Now, everyone's DNA has a different affinity (or attraction) for methyl groups in the areas (since we all have different DNA) that are transcribed under a non stressful environment within your body, so for some people it is very hard to get a methyl group there, so they won't bald, but others it can easily happen too. I'm not sure anyone know's exactly the mechanism for dihydrotestosterone, but dht is a steroid hormone which means it is relatively non-polar and can go through the phospholipid bilayer of your cell membranes. This means it goes into your cells and affects cellular functions. I would imagine somewhere in there is where it causes your cells to be in a state of stress and shunt nutrients to somewhere else instead of the hair follicle because hair has less of a priority than something such as the brain. It must interact with the DNA or something that interacts with the DNA because your DNA is the same in every cell, but the DNA available to be transcribed is different in each type of cell (giving each cell their own physical appearance). Somehow, only the cells that transcribe DNA on the top of the head for hair are affected so I would imagine the portion of DNA that allows healthy hair to be formed is sensitive to methylation depending on the person. That means that even though every cell has the same DNA, only the cells that produce hairs have that portion of DNA available to be transcribed (otherwise you'd have all hair cells in your body). There's actually a lot more to the DNA portion than that, but that is what we know about it in a nutshell. I tried everything to prevent total balding and when nothing worked I changed my lifestyle. I found I had to eat only fruits and vegetables, water, and vitamin supplements (including the limiting resources necessary for hair growth) without any cheat days and I also scrubbed my scalp in hopes to dilate the capillary beds in the follicles to provide more nutrients to my hair (the living portion in the root). I see people mentioning masturbating causes hair loss without trying to understand what causes hairloss. Not masturbating probably won't prevent hair loss (every person is different and have different levels of hormones, affinities, receptors, and hypersensitivities to these changes so I won't say it is impossible but very unlikely). I would focus more on Alpha's philosophy. Once I started eating better I became much healthier, felt amazing and really stopped caring about hair nearly as much. Haha Alpha thoroughly researches before posting videos, so you might want to check his one out about hair loss. He does a great job with it and if you are looking for ways to not go bald, I would start there.

A styling tip for you gents out there: Use coconut oil instead of pomade. Apply a small finger amount and rub it together until the chunks dissolve completely, then style your hair as usual. Will control frizz and hold the shape without feeling stiff. Plus the nutrients absorb into your follicle to create shiny, healthy looking hair. Just don't apply too much or your hair will look and feel greasy. A small dab on the fingertip will work.

These are my thoughts after learning how does hair grow naturally. Three important key concepts, Blood, protein, and natural oils. All of them are key in the process of growing hair. So I asked myself, how can I speed up the process of growing hair? brushing hair with a good comb that penetrates to the scalp, ( you can feel the blood pumping around your hair after) , eat food high in proteins like beef, and just wash my hair once a week so that the natural oils would have the time to do their job. I would love to know anyone's input on this or any other additional proven methods to grow hair for men.

Lemme tell ya how I got hear. Long while back going a year ago..my barber shaved one side of my hair way to high making it look like my hair was cut in half with a bad comb over. I'd continue going back and he would follow the same pattern over and over as it was easier for him. Today I got it fixed by bringing the shaved in line down farther. But only one problem that the little patch where it was too high was finger length already meaning I had to give up the rest including my front floof. This will definitely help me get back to the length it was. But better
