- Extension for the DGT Centaur.
How it works...
You play your game on the centaur and if you want get a PGN file from any position inside or after a game, please switch of the centaur, to save the actual game.
Plug in your USB Stick an switch on.
If the Centaur is restarted and ready, you can remove the stick, or let in in for the next game.
You can do this at any time without removing the stick, you will find all games on the stick with the numbers of the game in front... so 1_mygame.pgn 2_mygame.pgn and so on...
That's all.

why did you damage the DGT board? Why didn't you just cut off and adjust the adaptor end?

Wow! So the only modification to the Centaur is simply drilling the hole to access the micro-usb port? And the code on the usb drive simply interrupts the bootup and does not modify the code on the Centaur? This sounds like something a non-tech person (like me) would be able to do.

Hello. I cant see any circles when the board is off in this video. Are they really invisible or is it only optical illusion in the video.
I just purchased a centaur and I see slight dark circles. I want to make sure it is a version 2 device before I register.

Das ist ein wunderschöner Mod. Ich habe es ohne Probleme auf meinem Centaur installiert und es funktioniert gut.
Schade, dass sich alle nachfolgenden Entwicklungen (V2 und Eds Mod) auf die Verwendung von Rasperry pi Zero w2 konzentrierten.
Ich hätte gerne einen Mod mit diesem USB-Export + Game-Engines ohne adaptive Intelligenz. Ein Mod für den alten Pi Zero.
Kein WLAN, kein Bluetooth.
Wurde in dieser Richtung etwas unternommen?

@@jclewis5975 sorry there ist No convertion Video available. IT IS a Change of the SD Card and a Cut to get access to the USB port. Not even more. Actual I don't have a centaur so that I don't make a Video. All IS easy stuff.
I tried this and it didn't work out of the box. did you modify the code on the pi to get this to work ?
Sure , that is a mod. There is a change in the bootprocess and a Programm that generate a pgn of the actual stored game.

We need more precise instructions on where exactly to drill the hole.
You need to unscrew the panel at the bottom of the chessboard. It's 5 screws. The last 2 screws are located under a seal. Unscrewing this will void the warranty, so keep that in mind. Carefully remove the printed circuit board, then you can see where the USB port is located. Drill the hole on the side at the same height.

What code did you write to get this to work?
There is a 60 lines python code and adding some libs to the python installation. Also a short modify of the linux startroutine.

@@Joshua-tq4jg I don't need shell access. I can do everything via the sd card. Please understand, that I will not post any hints "how to get root access" in an open channel like this.

it would be even greater if we can connect directly to the pc
