Hi Troy, my question as a beginner golfer is the one plane or two plane a better way to go? Or are there instances where the 1-plane is better than the 2-plane? Or what about as a woman golfer? Or does that even matter? Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks Carolyn, it's really about what feels more comfortable to you. If you have okay flexibility and no injury problems, then practice with both at the driving range and see what results you get.
One will feel more comfortable than the other. Remember, one plane swing you'll need to rotate more in the downswing. Two plane swing you'll need more vertical drop in the downswing to shallow out the golf club.
      See how that goes. Cheers

Are you rolling the wrists during any of the two backswings?

The wrists for me hinge naturally up, not really any rolling. Cheers

hi, is the one plane golf swing shorter, and if so can you hit the golf ball just as far as the 2 plane swing which is longer swing. Also is there more connection to the body in rotation in the one plane swing. ? And does the hips open up first like the 2 plane swing ? thanks

Hi Marcus, the one plane is not really any shorter and yes you can hit the golf ball just as far. There's a bit more connection to the body also with the one plane. Yes, the hips need to rotate or open up just as much for both swings. Cheers

I could not disagree more. For a "One plane" swing the lead arm will be on the same plane, or slightly above, as the shoulder plane at the top of the backswing. For the "two plane" swing the hands are well above the shoulder plane. Both backswings you demonstrated were well within the one plane swing range.
The downswing description was well done though.
I would recommend looking at Jim Hardy's work for more detail on the different planes.

I think it was pretty close, yes could have been a bit higher. But the general description was right. I have seen Jim Hardy's work on swing plane, it's very good. Cheers

The term “single plane” can be misleading. Yes at address and impact the shaft is on that particular plane, but the swing plane itself changes. Moe Norman, basically the model for the single plane came back under the plane and back over onto the plane, where as someone like Tiger has almost identical swing planes in the backswing and downswing. Personally I see a swing like tigers, Adam Scott, etc. more of a single plane swing than Moe Norman. Plane is just a general term and there are really infinite different planes but usually in golf when someone says “plane” they’re talking about the clubheads path aka swing plane, hence how it can be a misleading term. ⛳️🧙‍♂️💭

Yeah, no. All single plane/two plane that I have seen now after many many videos look the freaking same.
SINGLE PLANE = Take away is TWO PLANES, Down swing is one plane.
TWO PLANE = Take away is TWO PLANES, down swing is ONE PLANE.
    so, yeah no difference.
    MY DEF. SINGLE PLANE -----
SINGLE PLANE = TAKE AWAY ON THIS LINE AND DOWN SWING ON SAME LINE. THAT IS SINGLE PLANE. SINGLE MEANING ONE(TAKE AWAY AND DOWN SWING ON SAME LINE!!!!!!!!!) NOT TTTTTTWWWWWOOOOOOOO LIIINNNNEEESSSS.
