    🥑 I'd like to add one more layer! 🤔 The gut-brain axis is a TWO way street. So, sometimes you will find that you can't get the GUT right until you deal with the BRAIN stuff. I see this very often with IBS and SIBO. People who have done "all the right things" (nutrition, herbs) and they still don't feel better. Then, we start address their sleep, stress, food fear, anxiety, etc and- poof! The gut stuff finally melts away.

I have been having depression and simply just not wanting to do anything, just not like me. I told my husband a week or two ago I think this is all related. Then I watch this video, are you kidding me, how crazy is it that you made a video about this right when I’m having this going on. I thank you. By the way I have found that fiber is just not enough and accidentally figured out that adding grapefruit with no added sugar helps so much and I am so grateful to find it.

      First off, I am eating a healthy breakfast, which I I’ve skipped in the past fearing stomach problems, and just not liking to eat breakfast. A typical breakfast the past few weeks has been a small amount of yogurt or cottage cheese drizzled with a small amount of honey, a couple of dates cut up a few grapes, cherries, and some sliced bananas. I stopped drinking coffee, and I am drinking herbal decaf teas. I also stopped drinking wine a while back, as I was drinking, at least a glass a day, although I will drink an occasional glass socially. I limited chocolates and sweets. A typical lunch would be soup and salad or avocado on toast with a little salt and pepper and garlic powder to taste and maybe a hard boiled egg. Drinking lots of water - very important, occasionally adding liquid IV electrolyte drink mix. Note, I suffer from dystonia torticollis and so I’ve been watching videos on exercises for neck and cervical pain.

    So true. But, I also noticed that among the probiotics noted in the video, half of them are dairy, which my system can't handle. Been taking lactase enzymes occasionally, which helps. Also difficulty digesting oils. So i end up eating a lot of water boiled or equivalent food, so that I can eventually poop normally. Pretty sad existence. Oh well. Hope most you aren't suffering from this condition. It sucks.

    Your excellent video comes at a time when I am dealing with symptoms of ibs and sibo, yet after taking a blood test learned that my lipase is elevated. Now I am scheduled for a ct scan since it could stem from pancreatic inflammation. There is definitely a gut/brain connection. I have been very stressed this fall due to my husband's health issues. My diet was tending to be more processed foods instead of freshly made dinners from scratch. The holidays added to the stress. On 1/2. I suffered from terrible abdominal pain, nausea, bloating, and constipation. I immediately changed up my diet and worked on getting good solid sleep. The doctor's video is informing us to pay attention to what we eat and how we deal with stress. More of these videos are welcomed. Thank you, doctor, for raising our awareness.

      @margaretalsaraf2643 just seeing your comment and wondering if you have found some relief?
      It sounds like you’ve been going through a lot, and I’m sorry to hear about the health challenges you’ve been facing. Elevated lipase can definitely signal issues with the pancreas, so it’s great that you’re getting a CT scan to investigate further.
      There’s definitely a strong gut-brain connection, and stress-along with processed foods-can really take a toll on gut health, especially with conditions like IBS and SIBO. It’s encouraging that you’ve already started making changes to your diet and focusing on better sleep, which are both key steps in healing.
      Keep advocating for your health, and stay focused on the small but impactful changes.

    I'm 64 and have experienced that "butterfly" issue in my stomach my entire life. Even when there was nothing exciting or nerve racking going on in my life. Other than that I was the picture of health until 10 years ago at 54 I was diagnosed with third stage colorectal cancer. I've been pretty unhealthy since with constipation, diarrhea, and it seems never anything in between. Being a active, strong guy all those years with a robust appetite for food and beer I know even though I was very active and a outside person on the job and off, I didn't take great care of my digestive health. But I wonder all the time about the role the butterfly thing played in all this. Because it's still there today.

    I've been diagnosed with anxiety and stress for many years. Doctors have given me meds to address anxiety and stress but they still reside with me.When I eat my stomach feel nauseous and my bowels go from A to Y.I constantly take antacids to help me but I realize that is only a quick fix. Please tell me how to fix my gut.

      @normaleiba
      I'm really sorry to hear about your ongoing struggles with anxiety and the impact it’s having on your gut health. It’s common for stress and anxiety to create a cycle where gut issues like nausea, irregular bowel movements, and the need for antacids become constant companions. Medications for anxiety can help manage symptoms, but they often don’t address the root causes of how stress affects your digestive system.
      There’s a strong gut-brain connection, and when anxiety is chronic, it can disrupt your gut’s natural function, leading to symptoms like nausea, bloating, and irregular digestion. To truly fix your gut, a holistic approach that addresses both your digestive health and the underlying stress is key.
      You might want to explore strategies such as balancing your gut microbiome with targeted probiotics, eating anti-inflammatory foods that soothe the gut, and incorporating stress-reducing practices like mindful eating, meditation, or even gut-directed hypnotherapy. These approaches can help restore balance over time. Working with someone who understands the gut-brain connection could also help you find long-term solutions that go beyond quick fixes like antacids.
