I'm curious to know if Oceiros is missing in this list or if it was intentionally not included since it is still transitioning into being a dragon. Furthermore, personally I consider Ebrietas to be a Dragonlike creature which I would have loved to see ranked in this tier list, even if only considered as an honorable mention or something.
Elden ring dragons r really mid; Placidusax is cool and all but he has some annoying attacks, fortisax is overrated, rest of dragons r copy and paste. Play ds3 and fight midir, best dragon
Placidusax must be S+ he is winning by lore, power, visual, presentation, special moves, maybe just less melee combat moves. Midir just has phenomenal soundtrack, poor but sad lore, more melee combat moves and u can't see sht on his design. Placidusax wins all.
In defense of Acient Dragon, considering that it is acient, it would be slow. However, since it is so ancient, he has build up size/strength. A lot of other dragons are small and quick. However, AD is a lot more of a tank and shows what happens when you try to take on a huge beast of a dragon. It's like the difference between getting hit by a branch of a tree and getting a whole sequoia tree slammed down on you.
in regards to Ancient Dragon, when DS2 originally came out his fly up then down breath attack covered like 90% of the arena. im not kidding. so when you went for the feet, his AI would tell him to fly up and do the breath attack most of the time so you would have time to get in 1 or 2 hits before you had to run well before his animation started. plus his breath attack did more damage, last longer and i THINK hit more often during the duration. when people say he was a hard boss this was the version they talk about because so many people never played the patched version of the fight
Congrats for your sub count well deseerved Came for. Rankings Stayed for. Your outros Im my opinion placidusax is the Dragon goat 😜 Cheers ember keep up the good work
Placisusax is my favorite! Pity that he got a low health bar. Just imagine fighting him in his prime! 5 headed dragon lord! Ohhh and my boy Fortisax! Damn the ost is sooo epic during the boss fight! And also a pity abt his health bar too!
Sihn personally is way more interesting and engaging to fight then Midir. Midir is overated for his visuals, and mechanically - either you fight his body and suck, or fight his head - 90% of fight dodge-attack repeat. Tedious. Even if overall he is still really good boss, and it is really satisfying when fight "clicks" for you, it is not fight i look forward repeating
King of the Storm is probably D for me, I kinda hate it, I actually prefer the Guardian Dragon over it. And I'd have every single Elden Ring dragon on C or higher, because while they aren't original, the base template they use is by itself considerably better than the likes of King of the Storm or Guardian Dragon. I think people complain too much about recycled designs and ignore how good said designs are. Many Elden Ring bosses that everyone hates are actually pretty good bosses, but they are treated as if they're horrible because you fight them multiple times, this includes Ulcerated Tree Spirits, Burial Tree Watchdogs, Tibia Mariner and most of all the dragons (Godskins too, but I think they're hated more because of the Duo than becuase there are many). At least people give credit to Crucible Knights and Tree Sentinels, because those bosses are TOO good to be ignored even with repetition. Also, smaller note but I actually like him more than Kalameet.
Do you mind me asking what exactly you dislike about midir ? I'm just curious. I didn't like him before I learned how to fight him but now I think he's the only dragon that makes me feel like I'm fighting a dragon face to face. Midir feels like he almost respects the Ashen ones power to an extant and this makes sense as we have already fought midir once by the time we get to his boss fight. But yeah I'm just curious . With placidusax I just felt like I was smacking his tail a hundred times and than he died . His head was completely out of playwr range so it felt much less personal than the midir fight and for some reason less epic .
If i may? I think the main problem with Midir is that you can just roll spam away from him and none of his combos can chase you fast enough. That way you don't have to time any dodge, and after he is done attacking, you can just run to his face and hit him with R1s. Now just repeat the process for 7 to 10 min. The fight goes on for too long as well imo (even on a casual run), Midir's moveset is not complex or varied enough to justify such a large health pool, so it ends up feeling very repetitive as he cycles through the same moves over and over again. Lastly, making the head the only viable target can make the fight feel more personal, but it can also make Midir feel less like a whole giant creature and more like a floating disembodied head (since you can just ignore everything else). Placidusax is one of the most visually impressive fights in the series for sure, and feels more dinamic, since his moveset is always evolving as you go through all of his 3 phases, but i wish the fight incentivized the player to be more mobile, instead of sticking to his back legs and tail, as well as giving some way to occasionally target the heads with melee weapons, outside of crits after a posture break. Personally i think Fortissax is the best dragon in the series since he addresses all of the concerns i mentioned in this comment. Head, arms, legs and tail are all viable and available at different points throughout the fight (depending on what moves he is doing) rewarding good positioning and movement. And the ticking timebomb lightning gives all of your attacks a lot of urgency while punishing both tunnel vision and camping a specific limb.
@corporialme indeed you may and for good reason, that was well articulated and your right midirs moveset could be a little bigger . He has a total of 12 moves which is about average for games after bloodborne and on. Those moves can come in varying orders but he does seem to prefer a few specific moves to spam . I like how the fire breath with midir can actually be rolled through though . In elden ring fire breath became almost unrollable so that is kind of just a nitpick with game design because they intended you to run instead of roll. I would agree placidusax has a Greta moveset and fantastic visuals but yes hitting his a-hole the whole fight made it feel a bit lacking at times. Fortisax is great but I wish his lightning worked like placidusax instead of homing the player character .
Pretty good their list, would have swapped placiducex with midir personally but other that nothing really. (Difference with the magma worms is one of the includes their phase 2 while the other is exclusively phase one)
@@Diablopray I disagree, while I agree the spectacle is the main selling point I still think he is better fight than midir. Midir moves his head around so much and u can’t lock on to his legs, I feel like I’m fighting a faramazula dragon with a good ost

Don't do Greyoll dirty like that. Yea you can cheese her really easy for free runes, but the actual fight is kinda neat. For those who haven't fought her the proper way the fight is basically her calling her children to defend her because she can't fight and if you beat all 3 dragons she summons she dies(or you can hide under her wing where they cant get to and bleed cheese her) It's a cool concept because she is in lore the mother of all dragons except the ancients ones in the game.
Just get rid of the health bar on Ancient Wyvern and it's fixed. Also, having just killed Fortissax at RL1, I'd say Kalameet was a better fight melee, but they're pretty close. I also tend to be annoyed when people just rank Demon's Souls at the lowest spot for something, but in this case it's entirely justified. The game has a cut ballista that let you shoot things; imagine if after you got past the red and blue dragon once you could use the ballista to take them out. Would've bumped them up to B or C tier.
I too agree that Gaping Dragon is the most-underrated boss in DS1, because I think no other boss more perfectly exemplifies what the game is all about- huge, nightmarishly hideous, intimidating, easily capable of squashing you flat practically without trying if you're careless or reckless or clumsy or just charge in mashing the attack button like a moron, but if you slow down and take your time, think, and as the saying goes, _git gud,_ you can make this ancient abomination into your cringing scaly bitch with ease. _That's Dark Souls._ Given that people have been seen completing soul level 1 runs of the game using Guitar Hero controllers, can you really say that the Gaping Dragon is "too easy" for a game like Dark Souls? No. It's basically perfect.
I like Placi more than Midir, and actually i don't understand why people like Midir that much, imo he's technically pretty easy boss, lorewise he's cool, but nothing that impressive about him. And giving Kalameet such high place on the list is a crime. The most buggy and laggy dragon fight with no logic at all, i'd give him low D rank, gaping dragon is way better than him.
Fortissax is mid. All the dragon fights are overrated. Worst kind of boss in the series. Always cool visually and in terms of design. Mechanically, though, they almost universally suck.
i wish they would just copy paste midir into elden ring best dragon fight imo and if I could fight him but he has lightning attack or poison or frost it would be awesome
Gotta disagree on Fortissax and Lansseax. They're both an expanded moveset of the normal ancient dragons we find all over Farum Azula. And the fight itself isn't that great.
Why? He literally does fuck all in phase 1, and phase 2 is mostly him teleporting and flying around. I don't love any of the dragon fights, but Midir is a far better fight than Placidusax, mechanically and it's not even close.
@@Al-ji4gd Well, for me the Midir fight was too tedious, and felt too long. Last time I played with a str build, and still dealt so little DMG to him. Placidusax not just looks better visually, but the fight itself feels more entertaining. Everytime I do a NG+ looking forward to fight Placi, but Midir? Not so much. And I really love difficult/challenging bosses.
Comparing these two is a bit unfair, Placidusax plays nothing like a dragon boss. But if we compare them based on how successfully they perform their assigned roles, then Placidusax is the one with the better execution. Placidusax is simply put the perfect spectacle fight without an assigned gimmick. Midir on the other hand is Dark Souls 3's attempt at modernising a classic style dragon boss and it's almost great, but he's too big for the camera to keep track of him in some situations wether your camera is locked on or not, he also has a number of attacks that are just time wasters without the same level of spectacle Placidusax has.
You're fighting Mid or wrong if you had to chase him. Midir was designed for the player to attack him head-on instead of leg-slashing like the rest of Elden Ring's disappointing dragons.
King of the storm is one of the worst fights I’ve ever experienced in probably any game. Nameless king is still great but man king of the storm is AWFUL
one thing I don't see mentioned anywhere is how all the open world dragons in Elden Ring share a lot of their moveset with Midir, just a bit less aggro and not as damaging. I rememeber enountering Agheel for the first time and recognizing almost every single move
Midir: Lore- S+ Fight- S Design- S+ Kalameet: Design- S+ Lore- S+ Fight- B Ancient Wyvern: Design- C Lore- D or F Fight- F Dragon God: Design- S+ Lore- S+ Fight- D Divine Dragon: Design- S+ Lore- S+ Fight- B Guardian Dragon: Design- D Lore- D Fight- D Ancient Dragon: Design- S or A Lore- S Fight- A
The first dragon fight in Elden Ring is the only good one because the area you fight it in is big enough for Agheel to fly around and release extensive fire breathe attacks like an actual dragon and you get to ride a horse and employ hit and run tactics on its face instead of slashing at its feet, but then Fromsoft ruin it by rehashing this boss fight like 11x with slightly different coat of paint. I will say none of these giant sized bosses that cover half the screen are well designed, Ludwig from Bloodborne being the only exception. Whacking at the feet of these bosses while being unable to see what kind of attack they are doing cause their body eats up 90% of the camera is not my idea of a fun boss fight.
From soft until elden ring didn't make a single good dragon fight in my opinion. They made fortisax which I think is the most dragon dragon fight going apart from he was a push over.
I think its fair to shit on most of the ds 2 base game bosses, but aside from the co op ones the dlc bosses are some of the best in series. Sihn is a really enjoyable, original, perfectly balanced fight with very memorable visuals and ost. Lannseax is pretty much just a simpler version of Fortissax with worse music. Not at all a bad boss but far from fromsofts best.
@@jamiefenwick8359 I get that, although I think people come from the wrong perspective there. Lansseax comes much before Fortissax, so its more like Foritssax is a reskin of Lansseax with a couple of extra moves added on, not the other way around. I think Sihn is a pretty good figh, but only by DS2 standards. Even the simplest dragon fight from ER is more mechanically sound than Sihn, I can appreciate the presentation though.
Kalameet was EPIC when that DLC came out. The boss tail weapon was awesome and the fight was hard. And he plays into the Giant blacksmiths lord and environmentally has effects on the land. S for suuurreee
Kalameet is so underappreciated dude. I honestly think his moveset is better than most of the Elden Ring field bosses. I would put him at number 2 next to Midir and above Placidusax personally, Placidusax is more of a spectacle fight but the moveset isn’t nearly as fun imo. He stood head and shoulders above every boss in Dark Souls base game, and I felt that’s when From really started coming into their own with boss design. He still holds up to this day as a great boss, especially considering it’s a DS1 boss makes it even more impressive. and yeah cutting the tail is super difficult and made it such an intense and memorable battle for me

Tbh, I like Adula. She was a challenging and decent boss fight for the end of a quest. It was also really cool to see a dragon pull a Sif and take out a fucking moon blade
Honestly after playing Elden Ring and getting to Midir, I honestly think Midir is super bland compared to Placidusax, his moveset is very samey and the only difficulty comes from his extremely overbloated health-pool, making it somewhat of a slog unfortunately, like just because it's hard doesn't mean it's good
@@botondkunos1774I was so dissapointed by that fight. Literally found myself fighting him with a blank face, no emotion, no excitement. I agree that the boss fight of Dragon God itself is bad, though I think the Dragon God itself is cool. I think it's not as bad as Bed of Chaos though, because not only is the trek to the boss not long at all, but the only hard part is the two ballista things. After that it's just hitting him until he dies really. With Bed of Chaos, getting to her is a pain and while hitting her two spots is easy, falling down to her third spot without falling and dying is a pain.
I have no nostalgia factor since I played the game not very long ago for the first time, and kalameet is my favorite. A is completely fair if this is about mechanics, tho I still enjoy them like crazy, but if you are keeping in mind stuff like looks(design itself, his fire, the calamity eye thing) and setup(with all the gough mini quest and cutscene), which are superior to midir imo, I think its one of the most hype things in the whole franchise.
Sorry but watching Gough shoot Kalameet out of the sky for me personally is one of the coolest thing in the entire series, maybe the actual fight isnt as good as some later ones like Midir , but the whole set up before you fight him in the dlc definitely elevates it to the best dragon for me

I'm curious to know if Oceiros is missing in this list or if it was intentionally not included since it is still transitioning into being a dragon.
Furthermore, personally I consider Ebrietas to be a Dragonlike creature which I would have loved to see ranked in this tier list, even if only considered as an honorable mention or something.
i can see where you're coming from but Ebrietas feels more like a Kraken type than dragon
I have always considered ebrietas the bloodborne equivalent of a dragon as well. I would put her in A, maybe a low S.
Elden Ring was my first souls game and I loved the Rot dragon fight
Elden ring dragons r really mid; Placidusax is cool and all but he has some annoying attacks, fortisax is overrated, rest of dragons r copy and paste. Play ds3 and fight midir, best dragon
@@creepergaming3445 nah fortissax is properly rated, everyone agrees that the boss fight is carried by the ost, boss arena and the spectacle
I want to say the DS2 wyvern you put in C tier is the one outside of the Old Dragonslayer room in Tower of Flame. I’d recommend F tier for that
Placidusax must be S+ he is winning by lore, power, visual, presentation, special moves, maybe just less melee combat moves.
All of the field boss dragons in Elden Ring should be ranked the same because they’re all the same except for a different skin and different element
Speaking of Bed of Chaos, can’t believe it took me so long to think….. “Use a fucking BOW!”
Watching the blind giant snipe Kalameet was more fun than actually fighting the bastard
You should rank gank squads of the soulsborne series
Oh I love that idea
Magma wyrm Makar should be b ngl its a good alt to dectus and a cool fight being repeated shouldn't bring it down as much as it does
Gaping dragon has peak ost
Congrats for your sub count well deseerved

Im my opinion placidusax is the Dragon goat 😜
Cheers ember keep up the good work
Yo thank you so much 😭😭
Placisusax is my favorite! Pity that he got a low health bar. Just imagine fighting him in his prime! 5 headed dragon lord!
Ohhh and my boy Fortisax! Damn the ost is sooo epic during the boss fight! And also a pity abt his health bar too!
Fortisax is so overrated he’s basically just a normal dragon but with cool ost. Midir is better than Placidusax
@@creepergaming3445 fortissax's fight shouldve been like midir

Fortissax would have been an amazing boss without the stupid time bomb and better head placement like Midir

@@giantdad2414 Many bosses deserves that 5x health buff
I personally like king of the storm, but I could see it getting boring if you removed nameless kings lighting attacks during that phase.
S+ for BAYLEEEEEEE! VILE BAYLEEEE
I forgot there were so many Dragon is Elden Ring. Kinda blend together after a while.
How you gonna do Theodorix like that bro? 🥲 If there’s any magma wyrm that should be ranked it should be him lol
I feel like Dragon God is an interesting concept for a boss, but it's horrible in practice. I feel like Arkham did it better with their stealth boss.
Plasidusax sucks mechanically he just has cool visuals. One of the most boring fights in Fromsoft history
@@Diablopray I disagree, while I agree the spectacle is the main selling point I still think he is better fight than midir. Midir moves his head around so much and u can’t lock on to his legs, I feel like I’m fighting a faramazula dragon with a good ost

Do every humanoid boss ranked
Top soulsborne npcs/story lines
Top weapons... top armor sets...
No. It's basically perfect.
where is Oceiros?????
I like Placi more than Midir, and actually i don't understand why people like Midir that much, imo he's technically pretty easy boss, lorewise he's cool, but nothing that impressive about him. And giving Kalameet such high place on the list is a crime. The most buggy and laggy dragon fight with no logic at all, i'd give him low D rank, gaping dragon is way better than him.
Cool, now try to rank the hardest bosses in from soft games, really want to know your opinion
Fortissax is mid. All the dragon fights are overrated. Worst kind of boss in the series. Always cool visually and in terms of design. Mechanically, though, they almost universally suck.
And the best ones are the ones that feel nothing like a dragon boss(Divine Dragon and Placidusax).
@@botondkunos1774plasidusax was so boring it was hysterical
@@Diablopray i find it hard to get bored fighting a giant teleporting lightning dragon that can also breathe holy golden fire. It's a grand spectacle.

midir is the 3rd best boss fight in fromsofts games
Gotta disagree on Fortissax and Lansseax. They're both an expanded moveset of the normal ancient dragons we find all over Farum Azula. And the fight itself isn't that great.
fortissax looks too cool to be lower than A, he's ost and lore carry the whole fight to A
Placidusax is better then medir
Fuck, i am old. I am a dark souls boomer
Wheres demon prince from ds3
where's ender dragon
i dont care what anyone says placi is better than midir
Same, fighting Midir was kinda boring and annoying
Objectively correct
Dragon God takes like five minutes to do, how are you making it difficult 😭
how in the world are 2 enemies you just stand in place shooting for 15 minutes, that arent even bosses, D tier lol
I actually like Dragon God
How could you rank the divine dragon B, you really are the watchmojo of soulsborne
"We dont get E's in school" . . . nor do we get S's or S+ in school but that didn't stop you ;)
Since when is there an S+ ? Doesn't make sense. S is the highest possible.
Sinh has the worst fucking hitboxes known to man, and makes your weapons snap in half in 3 seconds. Did not like the fight whatsoever.
Midir is a bit too mid to be s+. Between the run back from the bonfire and chasing him around his arena like Elden beast
None of the dragon fights are S tier, if we're being honest.
You never chase midir around the area, he always fights you agressive and gives you Windows to attack him
You're fighting Mid or wrong if you had to chase him. Midir was designed for the player to attack him head-on instead of leg-slashing like the rest of Elden Ring's disappointing dragons.
Shout out to all the homies who hate Animal bosses for no reason other than Seath

People fanboy too much for Placidusax its annoying
midir is just that good and placidusax is way more overrated
Bro huh? You just disagree
From soft until elden ring didn't make a single good dragon fight in my opinion. They made fortisax which I think is the most dragon dragon fight going apart from he was a push over.
Putting any dragon from DS2 over Lansseax is a bigger war crime than the damn Nuremberg trials.
Sihn was a great fight, possibly only topped by midir and placidux in my opinion.
Even the simplest dragon fight from ER is more mechanically sound than Sihn, I can appreciate the presentation though.
midir overrated
He still holds up to this day as a great boss, especially considering it’s a DS1 boss makes it even more impressive. and yeah cutting the tail is super difficult and made it such an intense and memorable battle for me
completely agree

Tbh, I like Adula. She was a challenging and decent boss fight for the end of a quest. It was also really cool to see a dragon pull a Sif and take out a fucking moon blade
Honestly after playing Elden Ring and getting to Midir, I honestly think Midir is super bland compared to Placidusax, his moveset is very samey and the only difficulty comes from his extremely overbloated health-pool, making it somewhat of a slog unfortunately, like just because it's hard doesn't mean it's good
placidusax is my number 1. Spectacle. Quality. God tier arena. Pretty difficult
Elden Ring's dragons are actually pretty fun if you fight them the same way you fight midir
They are a bit of a downgrade, they are so robotic. Except Placidusax, he's the best, better than Midir.
Except there is a big difference. Midir's head is at ground level after every combo, while elden ring dragons are allergic to the ground.
@@botondkunos1774I was so dissapointed by that fight. Literally found myself fighting him with a blank face, no emotion, no excitement. Soundtrack worse than midir, mechanically worse than midir, easier than midir he’s just bad tbh. You’re just a weird young new gen Melvin who cares about visuals way too much. I feel sorry for you
What does this even mean. You can’t really fight their heads the same way midirs is done. The dragons in Elden ring suck
@@Diablopray Can't agree more. Anyone ranking Fortissax or Placidusax highly must value aesthetics way more than gameplay. They are really cool, but suck to fight.
Placidusax, then Sinh, then Divine Dragon, then Adula, then Ancient Dragon i say.
Should have graded Greyoll for if you fight it the intended way (which nobody has ever done) by killing the little dragons around it.
Why grade it that way if nobody does it?
I wish people would rank Greyoll on how your supposed to kill her which is to kill all the little dragons around her which reduces her health to 0
Instead of
Sitting behind her slowly chipping away at her with no danger
That's too much work for one, and kinda a slog. Getting a bleed weapon and smacking her for a few minutes is the way to go. It's hardly a fight...

ancient dragon was pain in the ass for no reason because you had no reason to kill it since it's not actually a boss rather an npc that turns into one when you aggro it.

Placidusax is the best dragon in soul game
Yes he is not hard unlike midir i get it but his skillset are visually stunning and the fight are fun
Not to mention he hv the coolest design
Hahaha midir is so much better than Elden ring dragons it’s sad. Imagine having that long to make a game and that many dragons and they all still suck. Ahahahah so boring and lame ahahaha Elden ring ahahaha

You did kalameet dirty
Above placidusax fr
Sorry but watching Gough shoot Kalameet out of the sky for me personally is one of the coolest thing in the entire series, maybe the actual fight isnt as good as some later ones like Midir , but the whole set up before you fight him in the dlc definitely elevates it to the best dragon for me
Guardian dragon arena is so sick
