    Yes the quality of the drivers can be spotted (somehow) and still they sound a little bit weird ... The mt4s. Everything is good except they sound ,,small,, in the dynamic range, or hollow. Its like the potential of the drivers is there but something is holding them back. I will try to open my set and see if the chamber inside is full of glue... If anything I am glad that I came to contact with the trn t tips this way, cause they are perfect match/synergy for the olina SE.

    im pretty sensitive to air pressure from earphone. i probably hurt my ears from my ear sucking sg01. I'm looking for 20$ set that don't have any filter on driver vent? i just find kz zex and cca nra have two driver vent but i want to know if you have any recommendations.

    • @akros9333
      @akros9333  Год назад

      Let me see if I understand properly.....you experience vacuum issues when you insert any IEM.....
      Well the two you mention have got that vent but it's located internally.
      If you experience driver flex when you insert an IEM it's because there is no vent and so the pressure of insertion effects the driver.
      As for the SG01 I am not sure why it happened.
      Perhaps may I suggest you check you ears out to see if there is no problem you might not be aware of.
      Otherwise it seems earbuds might the the only viable...pain free solution.

      @@akros9333 I don't think my sg01 have driver flex but it's not well vented and giving me fatigue unlike my kbear ks1. i check it by sucking air through the eartips and ks1 seem pretty loose compared to sg01.

    I got lucky in that the medium t tip is my single favorite tip among any brand. Love getting a pair with my headphones. $43 for a modular cable, planar driver, and t tips is unbelievable. Mine should be here any day and they've got a really uphill battle to ruin that. I have the pr1, but I think the value since they cost more and have the cheap nasty cable and only 3 pairs of the basic kz tips, you need to start considering it closer to an $80+ pair, where it starts to be more in the 7hz dioko range. And I think the diokos demolish them (though the kz are much easier to drive)
    The mt1 max is coming with tuning switches for $12, too.
    I think I just like trn's weird tuning. The xuan'wu is genuinely fun, it does so much wrong that it comes full circle into being enjoyable again. I was honestly left a little bit bored with the pr1, since it's technicals are far below the dioko.

    • @akros9333
      @akros9333  Год назад

      Well this is the beauty of this hobbie , what I deslike you might love and vice versa.
      I am a big TRN fan and can acknowledge the existence of their own house sound . However they fluctuate too much.
      The Rosefinch has everything to be an amazing planar but they rushed the tuning.
      As for the PR1....you have the Balanced...HIFi or Pro?
      Differences are huge....Pro is capable of trading blows with S12 ...WUZETIAN....F1.... The others are just overly bass heavy, but it's easily fixable .

    • @colinmartin9797
      @colinmartin9797 Год назад

      @@akros9333 I agree that it's super subjective. I think you and I just look at headphones from a different philosophy - I look at a headphone two ways : How much value does it bring, and what does it do that stands out?
      When we're under $100, things like a cable and tips to get it feeling right are adding 10, 20, 30, even 50% of the overall price to them. It's why I love the 7hz dioko but don't think it's a great recommend to regular people, since $87 looks a lot less tempting when it needs another $100 amp. the PR1's sound awesome (I bought the hifi) but for $55 you get their cheap basic cable and basic S/M/L tips. So a relatively cheap tripown modular cable is $20, some of my preferred T-tips another $10, and suddenly we're at the dioko price, which comes with lots of tips and a nice cable. And for the pro's price, I just don't see the value in them unless they're as easy to drive as the hifi (which it has going for it, my laptop can handle them easily)
      My rosefinches should arrive in the next few days and who knows, I might hate 'em. I don't do brand loyalty. Loved the truthear hola, hated the zero (mostly comfort) but they are gunning for something that does bring a lot of value at the bare minimum - the cable is truly insane in the price range, just needing another $7 for a 4.4 or 2.5 is great. Including their premium tips is also a big value add. Their DB and ohms indicate they probably can run happily out of everything.
      But as for tuning, that's where it's just subjective. I think I just forgive a lot more tuning weirdness than many IEM people, because I put more into the other parts that basically nobody but Zeos talks about - soundstage and "vibe" Grados should have unlistenable treble per the graphs. Everyone loved the chu, I found them so claustrophobic they made me sick. I'll forgive unnatural tamber and less technical performance if they give me a sense of space and have a personality - like I said, the xuan'wu was so "wrong" that it ended up with a personality. I kinda feel like the KZ PR1 hifi are a little boring, they feel tuned nice for a little energy, I don't think my pair has any bass bloat at all, but they don't have much character beyond just a little bit of that planar weirdness that I like a lot more of. "Penrose Steps" bye kevin penkin elicits no emotion at all in me, even though it does sound good.
      It's why I have grado gs3000e's on my wall next to skullcandy crusher evo's and genuinely love them both. I look for things that do something interesting, even at the expense of other suff. "Truth Hurts" by lizzo sounds absolutely best with the bass vibe of a '93 honda civic with two cheap 12 inch Sony xplod subs in the trunk. If the Rosefinch is hot on the treble, but has the soundstage that they advertise on their website, with some planar character, I'd call it a super deal. The more ime spent tuning them, the more they'd have to charge. It's kind of mind-boggling how they fit a custom planar, modular cable, t tips, and CNC'd outer shell into $43 already. The ~$30-50 market doesn't really have any standouts right now, the Zero is unwearable to a lot of us due to the deep, super thick stems, moondrop doesn't really wanna get down there by discounting the Aria, so it'll be on TRN to really screw up something major.
      There's nothing wrong with the way you weigh or review IEM's at all, you just weigh them as an IEM and their sound quality, without really factoring the price or accessories, and focus more on tuning. That's fine, no criticisms. Just different from how I look at them!

    Just out of curiosity.. but do you normally put a 2 pin cable (.75mm) on iems with the QDC 2 pin (.78mm) connectors and vice versa? Being someone with a decent following i don’t think it’s good practice to do that and probably should tell them they shouldn’t do that. Some of these iems are lightweight plastic and your stretching already thin terminals. They’re not made for anything other than cables they were designed with.

    I got the rosefinches today and after about an hour of A/Bing them with the $55 KZ PR1 hifi, I can confidently say the rosefinch are more my thing, but the two are slightly different flavors of good and the rosefinch offers by far the best value in the $50 and under segment. I disagree with the cable criticism, the connectors feel about the same as the stock cable on the 7hz dioko, and the cable itself is also very similar, a little stiffer, but with a nice swappable plug. The kz plug is their cheap, basic one. I like the option of a mic though
    The t tips confirm yet again that they're just the personal favorite for me. The silicone bullets are kinda inferior to KZ, but kz doesn't make premium tips or include anything else
    Fit is a wash, they're both good, I prefer a semi-custom fit style.
    The KZ are a little easier to drive, but both can handle a laptop or phone just fine.
    As for sound, the KZ are just a little smoother. But not in a way I want out of a planar. They ironed out the planar texture until it feels like a dynamic, which some people may like more, but I feel it loses some of the speed and delicacy that I love in planars. Piano keys just "pop" a little more, the KZ feels like they're being soft pressed, which is weird when they're being pressed fast and delicately. The bass is rolled off a bit, I prefer a sub bass boost, which thr KZ has, but the kz takes it a little further into the mid bass than I prefer. Comparing with the dioko, that's what I want, more sub bass rumble but more neutral midbass.
    Treble just feels planar to me. A little spicy, but not piercing, violins, trumpets, and cymbals all have that shimmer and bite that I like. And the mids sound solid. I couldn't call one or the other better. Maybe a little more natural vs the kz due to the mid bass being flatter, but it's subtle.
    Soundstage is much more present on the rosefinch. The imaging is about the same, maybe better on the KZ, but just the sense of space that they occupy, definitely the TRN.
    The tuning could definitely be offputting to some people but it has what I want - personality. A sense of bigness and that crispy tight texture of a planar driver, particularly up top where I just felt the kz had been made a little dull.
    I'd say overall the kz is a more laid back listen but lacks personality for me. If someone told me it was a single DD, I'd believe them. I'd never think for a second the rosefinch was anything but a planar.
    Different strokes for sure, but I think the rosefinch just sounds more "expensive" to me, and paired with the cable and premium tips AND being 20% cheaper, the rosefinch is a killer.

      Anyway thank you for the comment and Interaction.... This is what I want ....solid conversations! Thank you

      @@akros9333 Personally, I was enjoying the Rosefinch all evening, and if what it takes to get them polished up winds up making them cost another $30, I'm not sure i'd want it done. As it is, for under $50, I'm recommending the heck out of them to people.
      Also, the rosefinches are really liking a tube amp too. It smooths out some of that early treble anger and warms up the low end.
      Cheers, enjoy the engagement!

    I find all iem this days have the same tuning. I listen to my music blasting. And the upper mids and treble makes me go crazy. I have to place high density filter and once you place that it changes the all tuning of every frequency. And when comes sweat , even worst. I wish was more iem with a treble like Sony x800 . Recessed and with a bass shell like the 7hz zero on the graph most reviewers listen to moderates volumes and they love their treble they forget to review the iem for all volumes to be honest. Maybe penon audio is my only solution without having to place filters. And once there is a ba on the noozle. No chance to place a sponge filter. Ans the noozle sticker filters I hate it. With sweat gym mode gets blocked very fast. If I place 2 filters in high volumes after 30 min. The drivers they start to flex and the tone changes .
