I was tempted to buy the Kirin, but the 7Hz (x Crinacle x Linsoul Salnotes) Dioko was up for pre-orders that same morning (and was cheaper), so... in the end i went for the weirdly colored oval thingymajigie. Even with the update from Crinacle that some units had the wrong tuning filters installed on them from factory.
My issue with Dioko is they look gaudy. That immediately made them no-buy for me. Kirin strikes the balance between plane and extravagant. I have no doubt that mr. Crin tuned Dioko tastefully though.
@@alexeiboukirev8357 Oh yeah, totally agree that they look -hideous- gaudy af, but i only use iems when i'm at my house, i usually just use tws earbuds when commuting or just about any other time while outside. Trading overall sound quality for transparency mode and good microphones is more than acceptable to me.
Thank you for your honest review Akros! Since I have the Timeless and I also had try Shuoer S12 for 3 weeks (sounds too energetic in upper mids), how do you think the pluses with this TRN Kirin vs Timeless sound quality wise? Sound stage-layer/depth-resolution?
Thanks Tony. I am not sure I hate the Atmospheric. It wouldn't score well but something less fatiguing/turn it up about it. I didn't listen to it at a lower volume, but sounds ok loud. I think you are right, great set from TRN but will get lost in the crowd. Unless it is a standout, why risk it when there are known sets like Timeless, P1max, and S12. Dioko removed the price advantage.
Exactly correct.....the biggest problem the Kirin faces is that it needed just a little extra mojo to make it have more reason to be bought. It's not a bad set and I listen to it quite often since I have it. Will try to improve it slightly.....maybe TRN will listen to me😁
Am I wrong in the assumption that all the recent Planars all have the same driver inside? From the graphs it looks that the differences only stem from the different shells. It's basically the same situation with all the Olina/Oxigen/Hana/Airship copycats. The shell is the only factor imo.
You are correct to a certain extent. There are three planar drivers being used, 14.2.....14.5......14.8 The smaller and largest ones are the better versions. Also they differ from having single magnet arrangements and dual magnet arrangements. But biggest difference is on fact shell, closed back Vs open back.
Really enjoyed this one..I do think I myself, since I already own the Timeless, S12, P1 Max, and the Hook X, I’m holding out for the Kioko.
Kioko is a mess right now. Production issues. Might have to wait a bit.
@@mariocurro1041 thanks man,I have heard the same. I can wait until they get it right.
May I know which is your favorite?
It’s a tie atm. P1 MAX, and the Hook X.
Between P1 max and S12 which one do u like more and y???
Which stock cable is better S12 or P1max?
Thanks 👍

@@nosardines I realized after I posted that wearing them at home should be fine. Great choice then.
Kirin and p1 max are far better than the stupid diokos
Will p1max be suitable for EQ and stuff? Like the S12??

What do you think about modding it with foam/400 filter, considering it has similar tuning/peak to the KZ EDX Pro?
whats your setup in the back?
