    who agrees that coaster studios is the most reliable source for reviews on coasters and parks? The google reviews suck, just look at the reviews of Fury 325, there are a million cedar point fanboys who think MF is better because they rode it lots of times and fury 325 1 time. so yeah you are the best place for park and coaster reviews to me.

    I simply love Knoebels. My first visit was in 1972 when I was 2 years old, and have been coming back from New Jersey ever since. The Flyers are the single best flat I have ever riden. May they never change the way they run them. It's the only ride I have ever been applauded by the crowd for the way I rode the ride. Mindblowing

    Fun little park. I saw Mr Knoebel carrying an ice bucket, like the owner doing day work, home cooked food, and get this...my phone flew out on a ride and no one could find it. The next day my home got a call. Someone found it in a Bush, it still worked, they looked at my contacts, found home and called it. They then mailed my phone to me. Talk about a different climate than most parks. . Oh and yes the Flyers were amazing I was with an Enthusiast group and it was really something to have everyone on the ride snapping their planes. The ride collection is small but superb quality I liked all the coasters even Kosmos which was shockingly good for a kiddie ride I purposefully avoid them but they assured me that one was worth it. Great park it exceeded my expectations

    PA native here. I am SO THRILLED you get the allure and hype that Knoebels has to offer. This is a park I grew up going to. The park is basically straight out of the 70s. Knoebels does everything so well. Their food is fantastic, the park is immaculately clean and I adore just how nice and shady everything gets with all the trees. Besides the flyers, Phoenix has ASTOUNDING ejector airtime, and Impulse is incredibly smooth. The wristsbands are a great deal AND they also have a discount when you bring in a bag of Middleswarth chips! I love it there.

    iKnoebels s a well preserved and updated classic amusement park. Before Disney and Six Flags, this is how local parks used to be. Most have disappeared, but this place remains. With a huge assortment of original classic rides. Including the Phoenix, which was moved from Texas, and the airplane thing you liked so much. If you noticed, it does nto run on electricity, there is a gas motor that spins it. It's the real deal. Not a remake that seems to be appearing in more parks over the last few years. And the Haunted Mansion at Disney is a ripoff of this (and other classic dark rides). The Haunted Mansion her, too, is an original dark ride from back in the day. That, the food, the prices, the free entry and free parking, the wooded atmosphere, and the people are what makes this place special. The employees care, there isn't a line jumping problem here, its clean, and everything is extremely well maintained, most unlike the big amusement park chains. It has generations of fans, something that a a park built in the 70's really doesnt have. Everybody can truely enjoy this place.

      I'm a diehard Knoebel's fan and love their Haunted Mansion, but the Disneyland Haunted Mansion opened first in 1969 and was already designed before Walt died. That being said, neither of them are a rip off as they have completely different scenes and use different ride systems.

    When you live in Pennsylvania. Three amusement parks come into mind, Hersheypark, something local, and Knoebels. Honestly Knoebels wins. It just so laid back, and my father had been going there since he was a child. Even though it has less rides than Hersheypark it's better, because it isn't as commercialized. You can also can get onto a ride without having to wait for an hour.

      Guys you are lying Knoebels or Hershey Park isn't even a debate. Hersheypark has an entire water park. Multiple water rides and wave pool. Also has an insanely good coaster lineup such as candymonium, skyrush, Storm runner, great bear, lightning racer, comet, and farenheit to name a few. Also has actually decent food. Cesari pizza at Knoebels was awful. The experience at hershey park has the charm and history behind it as well. Also has alot of children's rides. You can almost always find discounts on tickets and Hershey has an all day drink cup for like 20 dollars that you get free refills on and can be brought back for use. Soo I'm super confused about people saying this is better.

    • @fishflop1741
      @fishflop1741 3 года назад

      @@andrewstern8035 Have you been to Knoebels at least? I understand that some people prefer Hershey because its ride lineup is great. I like going there, but I still prefer the laid back atmosphere of Knoebels. Also I'm personally a huge fan of their two big wooden coasters.

    • @andrewstern8035
      @andrewstern8035 3 года назад

      @@fishflop1741 went to Knoebels this past weekend for the first time. Everyone over hyped this so hard. Said phoenix was soooooooooooooooooo gooooooooood it wasn't it was average at best. I have been to kings Dominion in va. Hershey park. And six flags new jersey. All three of these places are better. 48 dollars for all you can ride pass...... Well all I can ride is all you offer. You offer two wooden coasters both being average and the other adult thrill rides you offered were closed fandango, black diamond and flying turns. Like your coaster lineup and adult rides are already lacking and you still want me to pay full price lol that place is a joke

    • @fishflop1741
      @fishflop1741 3 года назад

      @@andrewstern8035 Like I said I understand that the ride lineup isn't as good. Also the best deal is always to get the ticket books it ends up being cheaper. $48 is still better than $75 for Hershey. Also Knoebels you don't have to pay for people who aren't going to ride (we can bring Grandma and not have to pay for her). I like Hershey. I just prefer the atmosphere of Knoebels, if I just want to hit thrill rides all day I'm going to Hershey. Knoebels is more than that I prefer their food, they have good entertainment, I like the location better there is creek and it is shady and more green than Hershey. Mind you I also have childhood nostalgia here. Also the wooden rollercoasters are best late at night after it rained there is an element of almost feeling like the cart is almost going to fly off the track. I went for my birthday one year and it was drizzling in the morning, we managed to hit the two big wooden coasters at least 7 times each. We rode other rides to. Even if it was a slightly rainy day at Hershey you wouldn't get that many rides in. Believe me I have tried. I'm definitely going to go to one of them for my birthday this year.

    I went to Knoebles many years ago with my parents, and I fell in love with the place. Reminded me of my home park, Crystal Beach in Canada, which sadly closed in 1989. Knoebles is a true classic park, with old style rides, and two wooden coasters with lots of speed. And yes, I also love the Haunted Mansion. Not exactly Disney, but it was fun, in any case.

  • @smatrai

    I love Knoebels it is very "Country carnival like" and when you drive here it is 40 minutes off of 1-80/1-81 near Elysburg so you feel like your trecking to Grandmothers house through the woods. There is a picnic grove in the front for large group outings among that the whole pathway is gravel.
    The food here is fantastic the cole slaw was the best I ever tasted and this park has a great value. There are rides for everyone and the wooden coasters are terrific. The Phoenix I have in my top 10 and the Twister I like a lot too because the Helix provides so much intensity and the 1st drop is fun too. If you haven't been here you should come here whenever you visit Hershey. Its an hour north and it's worth it.

    This video brought back some happy memories along with some tears. My paternal grandparents used to take my younger brother and I here at least once every summer from the time that I was about 5 until I was about 12 or 13 and started to think I was too cool, wish I had gone a few more times with them back then. I haven't been there in about 25 years and I just lost my grandma last year, while my grandpa had passed well before her. Watching this video must be the first time I have let myself cry since I saw her as she lay dying from cancer, but I'm happy to have had those memories come rushing back and this was much needed. Knoebels is definitely a great place for family memories, especially for younger kids.

    I grew up near here - in fact, I was about the only kid in my high school that didn’t work here at some time. It is the perfect family park. No parking fee, no entrance fee, just pay for what you ride. I think that is why, even on a busy day, you don’t get insane lines even on the most popular rides. No one feels the need to get their money’s worth by riding more than they really want. Classic bumper cars, the Whip, a steam train that leisurely rolls through the woods, a carousel where you can try for the brass ring lots of classic arcade games like Fascination and SkeeBall - really is something for everyone.

    I love knoebels. I've been there every year since 1985, the year they put in the pheonix, Witch came from Texas. Another great thing about Knoebels is your tickets never expire. If you buy tickets this year and don't come back for 10 years your tickets are still good.

      @SeekerLancer 5 лет назад +1

      When I used to work there people would ask me all the time what to do with their spare tickets and they were shocked that they didn't expire. Someone once brought in tickets from the 1920's they found in their grandparent's attic and the park honored them (they gave them more tickets than those were worth of course, because it was so cool.)

    This is one of my home parks and I honestly never get tired of going here. Not only is the park stunningly beautiful, but they have such a strong lineup even though the quantity isn't there. I would love to see a Skyrocket 2 or RMC raptor here!

    I used to camp at knoebels every year and the rides never get old! It's also home to my first real roller coaster, Twister. It is a park that is so much better than the rest! If you haven't gone try to get a chance it's an experience!

    My parents grew up a couple of miles from knoebels and have told me how it hasn’t changed since the 70’s (my dad and his friends used to go a ride on the flyers and snap them so much so that there are now restrictions on the flyers.) knoebels is hands down my favorite amusement park Hershey just doesn’t have the same feel, growing up and going to knoebels was the best thing in the whole world.

    You missed a few main points although mentioned “walk in from anywhere”. Unlike any big-time permanent “amusement park”, and EXACTLY like a “carnival” or local temporary fair, it’s PAY AS YOU GO, NO entrance fee. AND free parking. One only pays for what one uses, period. So old folks can go in for free and not ride a single thing to feel they got value, and the family is not ripped off even for little children who can’t/don’t want to ride much! It’s fantastic. It’s buying tickets for what you want, not just to get in. No entrance lines, as a result either.

    They haven't warped the concept of what an amusement park is at all, they are the way amusement parks used to be, they just haven't changed.

    If you love Knoebels flyers you would have loved the old Screaming Eagles at Kings Island. Snapping for days and trees everywhere- I remember swearing we'd hit this one huge tree when I rode it a ton with my mom and sister as a kid, good memories.

    What a nice review! So glad you liked it! It weathered the virus and come out as strong as ever. My friend and I try to visit twice a year.
    There are two things I feel I should mention.
    First, the park "dresses up" in Oct for Hallo-Fun. One of the best rides during this time is the Antique Cars. There are SO many fun displays! The Pioneer Train is also a must-see during Halloween time.
    Second, the staff is among the nicest and friendliest I've ever seen. They are kind, pleasant, and helpful, not to mention competent. Knobels hires a lot of folks with disabilities. For example, the regular ticket taker on the _Twister_ is hearing-impaired. He always has a friendly smile for everyone. I think it's great that the park can give everyone jobs.

    Knoebles was a huge part of my childhood. When I was younger, we would go to knoebles once a year with my cousins and it was so much fun. I have nothing but fond memories of knoebles. The first roller coaster I’ve ever been on was Twister, and even though I don’t like rollercoasters now, I loved it then. I think I dragged my mom on it 5 times in a row. I’ve also always loved doing the play things they have. A weird thing that happened was that every time we went, it would always rain, even if we picked a clear day to go. My mom says that rain follows her everywhere. It’s been a few years since I’ve been though, and I miss it. We moved closer to dorney so we go there. One time, we were going up near Erie since my sister goes to college there and we passes the sign that said “1 mile to knoebles” or whatever and my sisters and I begged to go on our way back. My mom said maybe but that didn’t end up happening. Oh well. I love it and I can’t wait until I get to go back.

      Oh another fun story I just remembered! One time, it was getting dark and the park was getting emptier, and I love the Merry Mixer so I wanted to ride it. We rode it and then the ride operator let us ride it several times in a row for free, even though we had enough tickets. It was great for little me because, again, I love the merry mixer and I could’ve rode it 20 times in a row when I was young.

      Oh, more because I just keep remembering more stuff I guess. I remember being little and always seeing flying turns under construction and being like “I wonder when it will finally be fixed!” (From what I understood, a flood destroyed it. I’m not sure if that’s true or not). When it was finally fixed I was so excited! I went to ride it even though I hate rollercoasters and we waited 45 minutes. I thought I was gonna die the entire time but it was worth the experience.

    Totally agree that this family owned Amusement Park was a chance find as we were driving back to New England after King's Dominion and Cedar Point. The ambience at night was delightful and Phoenix is a top class wooden coaster 🎢. Inexpensive especially after the other 3 "Big Parks" in Cleveland, Cincinnati and Sandusky. My late wife Susan was ace on the Carousel 🎠...she nearly emptied all the Brass Rings from the feeder. If you're looking for a true 'family friendly' park... THIS IS YOUR PARK!

      Me too. Last spring during our annual weekend trip, my friend and I invited another friend to spend Saturday with us. He got a map, but I've been there so many times I don't need a map. XD I even gave some excitable teens directions to Black Diamond.
      The park has a weird layout but I like it like that.
