It's a tribute to the fantastic engineering that they could include a reliable mechanical sensor to detect such a small change. I'm just dipping my toe in the water with vintage cameras by getting an Ilford Envoy and a Purma Special - unsophisticated but cheap! My dream is a Rolleiflex if it turns out that I'm any good with street photography 😊.
That’s a great idea. Start with a modest set up and if you like it you can consider moving up the ladder. Yes in the era of modern technology, sometimes it’s amazing to marvel at how ingenious these people were 60-70 years ago to create these mechanisms.
