At the end of the video, the view inside the van sure looks like it is awfully empty inside, and maybe even more top heavy than necessary. Probably has/had nowhere near enough weight to have good traction at the rear (primary) tires, plus it looked like the tires were aired down a fair bit. Amazing what these things will do. The next adventure with this 170 4x4 will be a great next step from this outing!
It's a 170, but not the extended. If we knew what we were getting into, we definitely wouldn't have started down that road 😯. There was no turning back after the first pitch.
@@OCoilers with a winch you would have done it without help. the more expensive alternative would be the limited slip differential(that is approx 5000$). impressive and very brave.
Just bought my second 170! I wouldn't want to give up the extra space to go to the 144. Unless you're hardcore about hard off-roading, 170 is the way to go IMO.
le sprinter était bien plus agile en descente que en monter , c'est pour sa que compte bien lui monter un dif ARB ... si ils arrivent a faire quelque chose de durable pour le sprinter 4x4
Nothing broke. Video doesn't do it much justice as always, but some of those sections were so steep that it couldn't make any progress unassisted. Some of it was do-able, but it was easier to stay hooked up for a few minutes until we were out of the thick of it.
@@OCoilers LOL, thank you. I have a Sprinter and have done a lot with it. I was like "Yall making Sprinters look bad. I mean they arent Jeeps, but it could have handled a lot of that road. I definetely would not have tried that alone or without a wench". I appreciate the explanation.
A lot of videos of "off road van setups" but not many of the vans actually doing anything. Thank you for sharing!
You silly goose!! No under armor, no proper tow hooks😆😳, I did enjoy the video 👌🏽
🤙
I have been on this trail in late spring and that creek was raging. I saw no people on the trail. He was lucky that others were there to help.
Cool man! wants your tires and suspension specs?

Holy Fvck!!!! Balls out man!!!
Hi Samual, is your van a 4x4 and could you tell me what size wheels/tyres you have? Thanks
Yes, it's 4X4, LT275/70R17
Wow very impressive, and the fact you did this in a 170ext... wouldn't even want to try parts of this in my 144! Props to you man.

@Samuel Heasley Nice video, but the van didn't seem like the suspension was set up for that adventure, mine will be.
@@kathylong9087 I'll send you the GPS tracks. Would love to see someone in a sprinter tackle this without help. 😂

@@OCoilers A 144 should be able to do it especially with the locker added, this is crazy impressive for a 170 though
Down to bad driver, that sprinter was more than capable of doing that
🤣
Extremely impressive off roading. Do you have skid plates? Stock suspension?
No skid plates (or damaged caused underneath), and stock suspension.
@@OCoilers that's impressive!
4wd 170 ?
Cool! But I'm not taking my 144 sprinter there😂
Was most of that in low-range, first gear selected?
Every blink of it!
Do you still have the 170? Pros and cons, how are you liking it? Would you buy again?

Glad to hear that, thanks!

Did he break something to end up towed till the end?
