      can the Niwa run plugs at 10 - 100% power so you can run a fan at various speeds? or dim your light from the app?

    • @tark3469
      @tark3469 2 года назад

      @@adblocker3000 no it cannot. You can set perimeters on the app to have the fan come on at 60% humidity, and the lights to come on at a certain time but you cannot actually dim the lights or turn up or down the fan speed from the app, just on and off unfortunately

    It must be spring, my veg room is full of veggies for outside along with some medicinal plants for outside too! Always something to be done now, but I still try to keep watching these updates when you release them. Every time I watch it's like I get a renewed optimism to improve the little things here and there that make a big difference in my grows. Cover crops is a big one of those! I just use up my years old seed that I would otherwise never use, such as mustard, collards, radishes and herbs. It has made big improvements to help my watering stay more even, keep the gnats down and plants stay healthy and green! Great start bro!

    I would be interested to hear you expand on what sounded like, at least at some point, no air exchange in your tent. I'm in a situation where I can't keep humidity up (during veg) so I turned my exhaust fan speed to "0", the only time it runs (approx. once or twice per hour) is when the upper humidity level is reached. This is the only time negative pressure is created. Also, based on what you presented, I just set up an inline fan to push air into the tent when lights go out. This will create positive pressure for 6 hours. I'm in a new 24x36x72 tent so having to get set up all over again. Since I just learned about you, I'm going to use the Strawberry Fields I already have on hand, but will be studying the needed items for top dressing. Thanks for your excellent content!!!

    I had straw one time like you Jeremy, from a mushroom farm. I put it in my worm bin and my growcontainer. I had some kind of a Flie-problem. A lot of Flies every time i opened the worm bin. And in my growarea. I set some yellow sticky traps up - it worked great. Wormbin i had to use Neam Oil. It´s not fully solved there.

    I love this build a soil series, I’ve been watching since season 1. Thank you Jeremy for all your great information you’ve totally change the way that I garden for the better. I had a question about the soil drench. If that does work for the fungus gnats do you think it would work for adult and pupae thrips that may be living in the soil? And would that 100° water harm an already established vegging or flowering plant, or the worms and biology? I’m also enjoying and looking forward to more of the family farm series. Thanks again!!

    If I have one of the used oyster mushroom straw log that's a couple months old and has more trichoderma and stuff other than the oyster mycelium is it still cool to use? I'm assuming it's thrichoderma? It's dark green. I'm nervous to mess with it because I grow mushrooms too and thrichoderma is bad news for that...

    Hello Jeremy, looking forward every new episode. Love "build a soil" transparency.
    Question: With amending mulch and cover crop decaying over and over again, you will eventually end up with excess of compost on the top. I assume you just scoop out the surplus and continue adding more in the container/bed. Can you elaborate on this? Also can you reuse this "humus" for another container? Thanks. Greetings from Spain.

    • @blt5991
      @blt5991 2 года назад +1

      Soil breaks down over time, so if you didn't add mulch/compost after cycles etc it would be lower down in the container. You can make a worm bin to save/make real humus!

    Hey jeremy,
    I recently got a bottle of em-1 and was curious about the benefits of the probiotics in it. I know you dont partake in this, but mentioned Aj likes to put em-1 in his earthbox reservoir. Id love to hear a broader discussion about this.

      @Clackamas coot it seems usesful. You can make your own em5, bokashi too I think. Why not in the soil as well?

      @Clackamas coot Hey thanks for replying. If you see this, do you not like using em-1 in general? Or just in the scenario i had mentioned? Thanks again
