One of the best rides in the park one of the best Woody’s I’ve ever been on. It has crazy airtime. After that second turn that double down is unique to this ride not on the original cyclone. It rode a little slower and more rough when I did it more recently but it was flying in the past. It’s super awesome and I used to go to this park a couple days a week when I was in middle school and high school and it took me a while to really stumble upon it and appreciate it. I used to go on everything else all the steel coasters all the time. And then I discovered how amazing viper was and I would just love to go on it every day in the back row
Your on something this is the most boring, rough, and zero airtime experience I have ever had on wooden roller coaster. American eagle is infinitely better.
I just went on this ride yesterday and it was a blast! I was terrified because I don’t like big drops but the drops are so thrilling! You will def feel the drops but not in a uncomfortable way. The airtime is also insane!
This is one of my favorite roller coasters of all times. I know it may not be as tall or fast or have all the bells and whistles of other coasters but it's pure fun. I laugh through the whole ride. Love it so much!!
Best coaster in the park. Its the only one i ride twice whenever i go. Never get tired of how long the ride time is, you really can't tell how long it is looking at it from afar.
I’ll always remember being like 10 and with my father when this ride first opened. It opened with only 1 train , took about 3 hours but it was worth it. Now I’m 42 and I still see the chain lift hangs you there for a few. Best seat is the back , just like the American Eagle , back seat , RED train.
That first seat is good for the airtime, but the money seat is two rows back, first car, third row. Still on the wheels so it is a bit rough, but the airtime is absolutely sick.
the front row airtime is mind boggling its not stomach dropping feeling airtime but where you at levitating out if you seat ever single time, it feels dangerous and the laterals are phenomenal
Viper is my favorite coaster at SFGAm. It was running really good this year. I got several back row rides on it and was getting diagonal flojector air time on it.
I went on this a couple months ago during Frightfest and it was so fun, I sat in the front with one of my friends and being in the front seat at night was extremely fun and adds a nice small scare factor.
Went here around memorial day. I was quite surprised. The second hill however had massive jackhammer but the rest was such a surprise. I just wish it banked a bit more
this ride has force, but the park offers a lot of better g force, tight turn, and airtime drops. ik its a wood coaster, but it felt really off. almost unsafe LMAO, but it was fun, went on 2 weeks ago.
Airtime on this thing is so good... I wish someone warned me about the crazy rough bump on the drop cuz it ended up hurting my back but still this coaster is VERY underrated.
Wassup East Coasters! Have you ever been to New Hampshire's Canobie Lake Park? I'm planning to go there in about a week, and I couldn't find any good POV's of it! You have been able to create the best rollercoaster POV's around the East Coast from Cedar Point to Six Flags Great Adventure! I hope you can visit Canobie Lake park soon! Anyways, have a great day!
Canobie is a very charming little park but you wont find any major thrills there. They have a basic Gerstlauer coaster which is cool and then they have Yankee Cannonball which is the really cool attraction IMO. It is a small out and back wooden coaster but it sure is fun and is a true classic with some history.
This and the former (at least, the original form) Georgia Cyclone has the same layout, it looks as if... My home Six Flags park, Six Flags Magic Mountain, had a similar ride with a mirrored layout (Psyclone) that was practically flawed from its opening in 1991 due to the weight of its trains (which were built by B&M using technology intended for heavier STEEL COASTERS, basically 🤦), and then this ride would be left damaged for much of its existence by the infamous 1994 Northridge earthquake (its structural integrity would be gravely impacted). That ride, mercifully, was torn down in 2007 alongside another coaster that has ties to Six Flags Great America, actually...
It is a great ride. I suppose you could say it is a Coney Island "style" coaster, but if you want the true mind-melt experience of a ride that your brain can't process, you have to do the Cyclone at least once in your life.
Viper reminds me of coasters like Wilde Beast at Canada's Wonderland or Apocalypse at SFMM, forgotten in the dark woodies that aren't at all talked about, not univerally liked or even universally hated, just kinda non memorable I suppose. Don't see very much about those.
No the chain will be too cheap and end up with another Twisted Cyclone aka "were is the entire third round" and it already sucks the georgia one was ruined. Not that it was as well taken care of as this one, because it wasn't. This one may have even been built the best out of all the coney island cyclone clones. If anything Viper-snake themed trains from GravityGroup or GCI trains would be a pretty good answer to a pretty sweet experience.
@@Cat3465 I honestly believe they either turn it RMC or destroy. I’m pretty sure retracking won’t do much to fix the ride experience. Feels as painful as Mean Streak was in Cedar Point

I found it a bit rough compared to steel. The roughness enhanced airtime
Damn, that airtime looks insane!
At 1:47 there’s a big bump of airtime that always gets you by surprise since it’s right at the end… my favorite part of the ride
Viper is relentless with the airtime. Every single hill has you flying.
Woohoo! My favorite ride! Love wooden coasters. Sadly, American Eagle was closed the day I went but I remember it being lots of fun years ago.
I went on this ride at 11am and the line was only 5 minutes long! Definitely one of the best rides at six flags
After the 1st Drop @1:07 This year there is a Crazy rough Bump! not sure what it is but a lot of people ive talk have also felt it. Love this ride
Hm We never felt it in our 3 rides in both trains.
@@EastCoasters you can visually see it in your video . when you hit the bump you can also hear it in your video @1:07

I agree ngl

One of my first roller coasters! I’ve been in love with them ever since I rode this when I was 8.
This ride was a BLAST. Such a pleasant surprise.
Gotta love those woodies that throw ya around! ❤
Its a ride thats never really heralded as a face of the park. But everyone loves this ride. Its the underclass hero of the park
This is hands down my favorite roller coaster of all time.

First real rollercoaster I ever went on! Great wooden coaster.
Same! My dad took me to six flags in 4th grade and I did this one as a starter, then jumped right to the Bull

We used to have this Cony Island Cyclone replicated woodie at SFOG before RMC gave it the RMC treatment in 2018.
It crawled over the lift hill and still had all that speed 🤯🤯🤯
Cool think about this ride is that it's lowkey so the lines are always super short you can ride back to back
Viper and Ga Cyclone, back row/car were the best. And great clones of the original CI Cyclone
That ride is so fun, and the line usually isn’t too bad. The kids want the “new” faster rides. I like that is really loud, and kinda weathered.
It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I assure you, this coaster is INTENSE.
I remember riding it when I was little and I just kept flying out of my seat. The airtime was just violent
This coaster is really fun , but it can be rough at the end of the season in colder weather.
Airtime on this thing is so good... I wish someone warned me about the crazy rough bump on the drop cuz it ended up hurting my back but still this coaster is VERY underrated.
Ride this with my brother in 2003 for the first time. Every drop made my stomach drop. Nowadays it doesn’t have that affect on me anymore..
My all time Fav wood coaster
He went from Human to Hulk really quick 🤣🤣
The underrated airtime is WILD
Road it yesterday. Love it BUT mark 1:13 i specifically heard a loud pop and it felt like the wheels or whatever they are called, ran over something
Did you tell the park? Otherwise it’s a lost cause
Yep. The really dont care. My herniated disc cares. Im not even mad like suing. Im very concerned about the safety
Don't know what it is, but it feels like it is hauling this year compared to the last few years
I went to that ride and it was so fun you should definitely try it
Wonder how the keep the wood from rotting. Ride is so old and the weather in IL is so harsh
Ive never laughed harder 😂1:07

I love the viper, I haven't been to Great American years,
Love this ride! ❤
Lmaoo you grunt-scream the same way i do on rides
Let me just say, riding this thing is a whole different experience
😂😂 this is m favorite ride because i’ve always been scared of heights and this is the only roller coaster i tolerate
Looks like it's also as rough as the Coney Island ride lol
I like this coaster especially because I went on it a day before this video has posted
When I was 10 my cousin said it was a kiddy ride but forgot it wasn’t. So as we kept going up we turned to each other and well….
Isn't this Colossus 😅🤷🏻(the all wood one) I think Viper is the red one.
Watched this before going on, my stomach felt like a washing machine after 😔
Did they ever fix the chain at the top ? Ever since it opened it would just hang there.
i don't think it's broken, but rather intentional. some other woodies do this too
bro i thought this coaster was chill like why tf did it catch me lacking 😂
Careful now 👉🏽 lmao

I got to ride this in 07, is it a clone of Cyclone? Hope you’re doing really well Samson!
Fun fact, Six Flags built and designed Viper by themselves, no outside help or coaster designer.
PTC actually helped build the ride. Designer was Dennis Starkey so..
It’s a great ride! Don’t ever pass it up!!!
Why canf I put it at 1080
WOOOOOAAAAA =] you need tO apply for a monster job sir.
This is the only six flags , one hour away from me
Love it but 2 parts after hills literally busted a vertebrae
This thing gave me neck pain lol besides that it was solid
looks tamer than the viper at magic mountain xD
Back row is so painful tho 😭

Reminds me of comet almost
Its a fun ride but the amount of vibration and moving around is harsh. Makes my head hurt temporarily everytime
It wasn’t stable to the track on the first airtime hill. It would fly off.
I wanted to like this but I couldn’t I enjoyed American Eagle more
It’s quick and not that tall so big surprise. Rmc nice but won’t happen since they have Goliath and eagle needs update
Viper rocks

I Personally Think Viper Should Be RMC'D. It looks rough, And An RMC Viper Could Solve THAT Problem.
P.S. An RMC Viper Would Be Called Either Steel Viper or Iron Viper
I hope not. This is a one of a kind coaster for Six Flags. This is the only one they built.
@@niuhuskieguyit got so much more rough since last year, it’s unbearable now, or maybe just for me (im really short)

I got a headache from this ride.
Yo the airtime looks great! I’m not gonna lie though, this would be a great conversion into an RMC hybrid!
American eagle would be a better conversion tho
The space for the ride might be too small for a good rmc hybrid. It is a pretty compact ride
