Longer than most people will make you without charging over length fees. The velocity gains will be seen in longer barrels than you can get. Whether or not the velocity increases outweigh the length increases are up to you.

Mine has a 27 inch barrel. I'm running 225 eldm's at 2940 using 2217 (h1000) and I was getting 3060, which was max, using 2225 (retumbo) before I switched to 2217.
