Austin Butler did something that is incredibly difficult... he won over Elvis fans. His performance portrayed who Elvis was as both performer and person with such respect, dignity, and integrity. The task was thought nearly impossible by Elvis fans until Austin Butler. He took this as a responsibility rather than a role and he deserves to be recognized for it. Sadly, people who say he doesn't deserve this have no clue how much work Austin had done and how much of his life he'd put in to portray such an iconic star as Elvis. I watched a lot of documentaries, interviews, behind the scenes and comparison videos since watching this film, and tbh, the effort he's put in to embody Elvis was another level. Austin was not only nominated for the Oscar, Critics Choice and Screen Actors Guild (Where most think he wins if he didn't have to face the obstacle of the Hollywood bias against awarding someone in their first leading role, and facing the irrelevant comeback narrative of Fraser and his crying in public) but Austin won The Foreign Press Golden Globe, UK BAFTA, Barcelona Sant Jordi, Australia AACTA International, International Press Academy Satellite, CinEuphoria, Sunset Circle, Minnesota Film Critics and People's Choice, as well as 11 Breakthrough Performance awards including two from the Palm Springs and Santa Barbara International Film Festivals. With Austin, Brendan and Colin's performances they were all in great company.
He is beyond amazing. He is so humble, he is truly thankful and grateful for where he was, where he is today, and where he's going in the future. He is THE closest we will ever get to Elvis. He literally brought Elvis back to life. I absolutely love him inside and out. What a beautiful man ❤❤❤❤
I can’t believe he won the award 🎉 amazing actor
Well done... well deserved 👏🤝
Congrats Austin, LMP and Elvis looking down , smiling with pride !!!You did it for the King 💖😎TCB ⚡️
I said as I left the theatre last year, he'll win big come Awards season
Austin gave all he had. So Happy he finally can Bring in harvest.
Pretty sure he's a lock for that Best Actor Oscar. Just like Rami Malek, playing an iconic music icon does bring the gold!
What a beautiful talented young man
He was awesome in the role.
I cried with this!! Austin deserves all awards!!
Golden Globe, BAFA now let's hope for Oscar
@@80steen44 Also the SAG award, that would complete all the awards Austin truly deserves! :)
i feel like you might be biased. Your profile pic is literally him.
@@lynetteh824 Unfortunately he didn't win the Critics Choice which went to Fraser, but it's only been around 20 years
@@norscored being biased has nothing to do with who wins LOL. He does deserve to win.
I’m a 73 year “old lady” in love with Austin Butler! And my husband is so okay with it, haha! That young man is not only a wonderful actor, but such a humble, kind, good looking, man! Everything you would love for your sons to be! ❤❤
And he “embodies” Elvis!! That young man is fabulous!
Gosh I am so emotionally invested- I cheered out loud when I saw Austin Butler won , it was the performance of a lifetime. I saw Colin Farrell in his role this week and I loved the movie, he was excellent but put it this way, I did not walk out of the theatre saying “ Give that boy an Oscar now. That was the most incredible acting performance I have ever seen.” like I did when I saw Elvis.
That is what I thought. His win was so deserved.
exactly!
Hey look I'm 51 so Elvis was before my time and I never had that much interest in him --- but watching Austin in "Elvis" really impressed me and he should win the Oscar
He's also up for the Irish International category at IFTA and the Mtv Award
