5:20 I love David's videos. He's so wholesome, even when he's being hard on himself, like, "oh geez, I'm really screwing the pooch here, but I'm having fun, so it's ok : ] "
I don't really draw comic related things (mainly character design and concept art), but the way you teach clicks for me. From the gesture videos all the way to this. I'm a better artist because of you. Thanks, David!
These videos always give so much information and I appreciate that they mention the need to study other artist and go beyond just understanding construction
The Quality of Davids content is incredible, and it's for free, i am very thankful and don't know if people realize all the knowledge we are receiving, it's mind blowing thank you so much david
My opinion is that mr david has more teaching ability in his pinky finger than any other ive heard and seen..(and there are some good one's out there) however from the tone and inflection in his voice to the wording he uses it makes it so much easier to listen to and actually hear and understand whatever he teaches.. thank you for sharing this gift
Your videos are always such a treat. Super informative, no distracting music, everything explained with a level of professionalism you'd get from a publication like ImagineFX or something. Most art videos on RUclips make me irrationally angry, and yours come in just in time to cleanse the palette. Hats off to you, David.
David Finch is officially on my roster/list of favorite comic artists along with Ryan Benjamin, Todd Mcfarlane, Dale Keown, Bernie Wrightson, Luis Royo, Serpieri, Charles Dana Gibson, Frank Frazetta, Joe Bennet, Renie Strachowsky, Real life Yaira (Rippaverse Yaira artist).
Your educational videos click in my brain like no other, I've been really struggling with mouths and just ten minutes into the video I've already had several epiphanies! I seriously can't thank you enough for the wonderful work you do ^-^
I'm just getting started on drawing comics and your videos help me a lot. I was a fine artist for a long time and looked at art differently. Your approach is definitely good for me and I am left handed too. You give great instructional videos. Thanks David.
Dave - Thanks as always for continuing to do these. I think this one may be one of the best. Got a lot out of this one. Things I do but don’t ever think about why etc. Love the skull work underneath! 😎
Thank GOD you've uploaded a new tutorial. Been waiting for soo long. You've taught me a lot. Especially with your videos which i've purchased from your website. God I wish I can draw perfectly like you! You're awesome!
Your videos are best. Such detailed and clear tutorials are very hard to find these days. It would be helpful if you make a video on the most important things to learn in order to be an artist as an beginner (with exercises to practice or something similar) Many other videos are available but none of them helped me so far.😅 Have a good day sir!
@@DavidFinchartist i always thought of writing that comment. I always try to draw on my own without any help but still I get back to copy from comic panels of many artists including you. I am stuck in this loop and trying to get out of it. I realised that I am very good in copying but it all becomes wobbly as I draw from imagination. Once again, have a great day ahead sir.
Man, I really wished if David was my real friend or brother, last night I was watching drawing session of Batman with another artist each painting his drawing, he's chill man easy going, very humble and down to earth, i think he's a good heart and very genuine man in the same time very polite and his vibes made me wish if I could hang out with him as brother or at least as friend, I love David 💚 and by the way that painting of the the Batman litterly poped, you killed it, i fell asleep as it was late but i will watch it, again, please don't stop posting teaching videos, i can suggest topics and ideas if u want, i actually remember I suggested video about mouths in little bit of action like angry mouths or sad or frowned so im gonna watch this video now
Thanks for your advices and making this free for us, I learn a lot from watching you draw and ink your art. Could you show us how do you approach drawing and inking a tattoo in a character? Thank you so much again!
I've been waiting for another tutorial like this covering anatomy fundamentals. Thank you so so much! And I'm so glad it's a longer episode too. Absolutely incredible Dave! Please make more
David, thank you for inspiration and instruction. Great work. Have you ever thought of drawing a geriatric group of superheros? Imagine an old wrinkly withered person still wearing the uniform that they now swim in. I'm not good enough YET to draw it myself. I know you could do a bang up job with it. THX
Your videos have helped me immensly since my starting point in drawing a few years ago. I'm sure you've been very helpful for many others. Keep it up Dave👍
Hey Dave, I was wondering if can make another video over inking? I have been really struggling with my ink jobs (I use micron pens) on my art and would appreciate your tips. I struggle with crosshatching and rendering texture. Things like metal, concrete give me trouble in particular. Thanks, Great video btw!

Couldn’t afford art school when I needed to transfer. I’ve been watching David Finch for years now. Imma way better artist now then I’ve ever been.

I have an idea for a tutorial: Facial muscles and expressions. Batman's muscular jaw comes to mind.
6:00 shows you how jaw "rotations" work, for opening and closing your mouth.
