I had an 01 IS300 I bought back in 2011 with 30000 on it and by 2018 it had 95000 and became my neice's first car. I eventually upgraded to a 2014 lexus IS 350. The IS started my obsession with Toyota and the reliability of the Toyota and lexus brand.
Got the 05, wouldn't have chosen a 3 series over this car by any means.... these cars are fun as hell, tons of mod capabilities. The 2jzGE is peppy enough and tuning it despite stock NA FORM you'll still get alot more out of it.... keep the stock air box and throw a K&N AIR FILTER and she's fun as hell to drive. Another KEY mod, change the steering wheel for the 06 is350 steering wheel to get the paddle shifters. Autos have an LSD rear diff too. I've made these changes and she rips around SACRAMENTO like A RAPED APE.👍
@@rafaelbrady-mccullough8374 since he didn't reply, i will lol. I got a 2004 automatic for 3,500 off a a co worker. 212k miles, but it's been well maintained and since ive known him for over 7 years, he will take care of any problems i have with the car. drives as good as my 2014 accord. felt like i got a good deal
@@ivangutierrez738 yeah, so far I’ve already put 20k miles in 10 months. There was a p0171 0174 code that came up a few months after buying, but I saw a small crack in a hose and just replaced it.
Enjoyed presentation. Drive 06 Toyota Highlander for 7 months. No issues. Reliability is big. Want 3rd generation 4runner but hard to find in Northeast. More Lexus is300 out here believe it or not. Thanks
Car feels amazing had a is200 and it still feels like a new drive bought my is300 for $6200 aud from a salvage auction with a wrecked back quarter panel flew down and drove it 7 hours back and was no worries the car just went would recommend picking one up maybe not for the price some people are asking for them now a days (10k-20k in Australia) but great car overall
Same here I bought a foxbody mustang in highschool and I always thought it was a good car, untill I bought an is300. It has been the most reliable car that I have own. The only main problem you will have with the engine is the throttle body but once you put in a factory remanufacturer one it will last you forever. That being said it'll only be electrical problems. But I was able to fix all that by myself for like 50 bucks. Once that is fix that car is so reliable. Plus you have to love that 6 inline.
I ALMOST bought the 2nd gen but something told me to wait a little bit longer and I found my is300. The is250 to me is underpowered for its weight, it actually lost power compared to the previous generation. But I think it’s an overall more comfortable drive as the car was catered more towards luxury and comfort rather than being sporty.
Steven Nguyen miles are very low and original miles that’s rare. If it’s manual then forshur I think you should. Auto then try and haggle but either way I can see that car lasting many years if maintained well so 8k for a car that would last awhile isn’t to bad considering how reliable the is300s are

I love my 01 is300. 216,000 miles and she still drives like a dream. Lots of mods I’ve done to it
The only downside is the gas mileage and it should have came with a single turbo from factory.

Just got an altezza automatic 2003 for 700$ freaking awesome
Would you recommend buying this as a first car. I’m a high school student looking for a “project car” that is reliable enough to last me to graduation
Yes highly recommend it as a first car. Wish I had one when I was in high school. Just search for a well maintained one and you should be good!
