I met Chubby Brown (Real name Royston Vasey), and his on-stage persona is just an act, while in truth, he is an incredibly polite, respectful man who rarely swears off-stage, as he finds it disrespectful. He was diagnosed with throat cancer a few years ago, came through it and has gone on to do more for cancer awareness and raised more money for cancer charities than most "celebrities." He is a legend in his own lifetime, and just gets better with age. He had a very poor upbringing, did time in prison, yet after deciding his future was to become the rudest comedian on the planet, he just sky-rocketed, and has been in demand ever since. I love the man, both on and off stage, and have so much respect for him, it's immeasurable :-)

Chubby used to go into a gym that I trained in (Springs in Teesside, not there any more). It had a bar area that I used to get a bite to eat in, and Chubby and his training mate were in there most days I was. He's a really nice guy and was great with the staff etc, he always had them laughing.
VERY politically incorrect, he's old school, no harm meant by his jokes, he said them if they were funny whether they were PC or not.
One time, they had a barber shop in the gym complex, I was in there queuing to see if I could get a haircut. Was a Korean guy on the desk usually, but he wasn't there. Chubby was in front of me, he turned to me and said, 'he'll be back in a minute, he's just gone out the back to eat some dog'. Loud enough for the guy to hear him, who just then came out laughing.

Our Boomer, as a gay lad.. got to tell you I went to see Chubby about 15 years ago. He gives me bellyache! He's an angel of human being that's never made it to mainstream audiences AND THANK FK FOR THAT! I especially wait for his gay jokes! Living legend! I actually worry about the old git! 💕💕

You need to check out the clash. There was a reason why they were called “the only band that matter”Not just a punk band, they dabbled in a variety of musical styles. Some great reggae/dub tracks. Guns of Brixton, white man in the Hammersmith Palais, police and thieves, revolution rock are all worth getting around to

I love Chubby. He was my Nannas neighbour YEARS ago. And when I was around 6/7 my Great Grandad died and we had the Wake in The Magnet Pub in Grangetown Middlesbrough. He was in there wearing his classic Patchwork Pilot outfit and he got me a Pint of orange juice and told me a couple of jokes. later on his Mrs came in with a VHS and he signed it for me. When we moved house my Mam left the tape... the houses was knocked down for regeneration

Started off as a Childrens Entertainer…wearing that costume. Went into blue comedy to make a living but almost never appears on TV bar the odd rare interview and a cameo in the League of Gentlemen, a program set in the fictional town of Royston Veasey (Chubby Browns real name).
