A great British comic, in a world of cancle culture, asain and black comics almost base their entire routine around race/culture, traditions and customs, yet Toy was largely vilified by mainstream news media which goes against everything we are as country. He is a wonderfully talented man, he’s been one of our longest running comics and had entertained us for generations…. He should love been knighted, arise Sir Chubby, arise!
I first heard Roy as a 11 year old kid with my mates in a beer garden in 1981 , some blokes sat at a table was playing a old cassette player with a tape of him and they let us sit and listen and he was funny as fuck when I was a kid and still is now .GOD BLESS YOU ROY , IM STILL FUCKING LAUGHING FATTY
The key point? At 40.27 - Can you all have a drink? for the staff? Put it on my bill please...." Say what you want about Roy, he knows his audience and is good to the public.
Roy seems like a genuinely decent person who has achieved great things despite a troubled start. He entertains millions and creates joy and laughter. Well done chubbs!
This bloke is a working class lad, telling working class jokes that appeal to working class people, and he's damn good at it too ! God bless ya chubby...................
Mike Matthews well said. Too many people go and see him for him to be irrelevant. He's still performing so that tells you he is relevant because people still come and see him to this day. Telling rude and racist JOKES (important word there) doesn't make him a bad person.
Meh, people should aspire to more. You're saying that being working class (whatever that is these days) implies that you're uneducated as well to find this funny in any way at all.
Appeals to some working class people, sure. Most of the ones I know have got a more sophisticated sense of humour and a more nuanced view of the world around them.
The narrator criticizes Roy for his values and yet the narrator himself is the sort of person who would say anything about anyone, with out a hint of conscience if it destroyed their lives, as long as it furthered his career or earned him a buck. What Roy Chubby Brown does isn't harming anyone and yet the presenter would destroy his reputation and career in a heart beat, were it in his power to do so. It's funny how so often those preaching tolerance are the least tolerant in our society, having no ability to be tolerant of any one with a differing opinion, or value system, from the agenda of the liberal left. If you want the right to act as you please, you have to accept that others have the right to laugh at you while you are doing it.
That's because the narrators job in this program is to report/interview Chubby, sadly it's a fact that Chubbys comic act is a reflection of his personal views/hatred too. Therefore this narrator gives a very well rounded, fair account of Chubby - Chubbys views/attitude are spoken from his own mouth!
He's clearly a very naturally artistic and creative person. Musical, articulate, etc. But due to the class system: He was trapped in a certain environment with limited prospects and the social safety nets and education system failed him until he managed to get some luck and build a proper life. I can't help but wonder how many other very talented men like him there are and have been over the decades among the British working classes but who never manage to get out of the trap like Royston did....
I met chubby back stage some years ago now . And I can honestly say he is a genuine decent bloke he gave me his autograph had a chat wiv me and the wife his show was brilliant.this was on the pier at Blackpool.
These journalists and tv personalities always put down the working class. Chubby lifts them up and takes them away from the struggles and hardship of life. That’s why he will always be respected, he hasn’t forgotten where he came from. God love him and what he does for so many charities. They didn’t mention that in the documentary .
Absolute Legend. Just cos people get offended by what either Roy says, or anybody else for that matter, does not give them any rights. They can have an opinion, as we all can, but that's as far as it goes.
His comedy isn't really my thing - but to me Roy seems like a damn hardworking guy, a good father, a loving husband and isn't afraid to speak his mind. The guy is entertaining people, making them laugh and bringing them pleasure. I don't agree with everything he says but I will damn well respect his right to say it any day of the week.
I met him several times at his shows around the North East of England in the mid 70's. I actually remember 'hurting' from laughing! Yes jaw aching from laughing! I wish I could just laugh like that again! Great fun, stag night or Rugby club special entertainer!
Rudest man in Britain...my ass. I've seen him live twice, and he's so talented it's breathtaking, piano, guitar, singing, dancing, and his jokes tell the truth, that's why they are funny. Narrator is a left wing wimp, guys like him are why Britain is falling apart.
I entirely agree with Roy's philosophy on life and humour. Not much mention of Chubby's talents as a musician and artist too so really, the film just set out to disclose him as a rude offensive racist! But this is humour and he explores the freedom of it! True, lots of swearing and obscenities, in his act BUT Roy is so funny that it really works. And, I also agree he is NOT offensive ever because it is just humour without malice and clever use of language and words!! Words only hurt if you want them too. No wonder there are so many unhappy and angry people in this ridiculous PC world (not the shop selling computers lol). There are other some really cruel and insensitive comedians out there who attempt to be controversial but end up very unfunny AND offensive! (AND that includes the very unfunny Frank Skinner-and what a bore he is too!). Honestly, watching Chubby on RUclips, I have never laughed so much! What annoys me so much about this video is the pompous reporter with his offensive and prejudiced description of people "several sheets to the wind" queueing to see him. That is stated sarcastically and NOT in a humorous way! So what? How about all the overpaid celebs at these posh TV awards etc who are even a few thousand sheets to the wind, but with free wine and Champagne. How hypocritical is that. I admire Chubby sticking to his working class roots. What is clear is that Chubby persona on stage is balanced by his demeanour and family life in private. So, while he may never appear at the Royal Variety Show (that would be awesome lol) he still brings laughter to millions of hard working people, without being involved with ridiculous "celebs" who like to appear clean cut when they actually have more dirty laundry than a Laundrette! And if you want an example of someone who is spectacularly offensive to people, look no further than the Duke of Edinburgh!!
It's just words, that's it. I find the torture of animals offensive. I fight someone who walks into a school with an AR-15 offensive. Roy has never hurt anyone.
@@trustme5573 Exactly, it's funny how the word, "Cracker" meant as an insult is freely used against white people. It's also funny how more black people use the "N" word than white people do. You can't have words in the English language that can only be used by certain creeds- it's either an insult or it isn't. Let these numerous humourless joke police stick to comedy robots like Marcus Brigstock- middle class humour is an oxymoron for proxy morons. They all live in a faux Richard Curtis land.
I remember listening to cassettes of him back in the day, he was so funny, he may be a bit racist at times, but he does tell other jokes with which can be hilarious. He is just telling jokes about everyone, everything and even himself, and that all they are, jokes!
I've seen Chubby, at least 3 times, doing his act. I've got nothing, but respect for him - the Guys done good, as they say. Working class, who got off his arse, and became a household name. Good for him!!
Went to see him last year in Chesterfield. Never seen anything so funny or laughed so much, got loads of his DVDs Lovely bloke I don’t believe he has a malicious bone in his body. It’s a sad day if we can’t have a laugh at each other. Ultimately if people don’t appreciate his humour don’t watch !
He's a real person behind all the comedy. I felt for him when the piss heads were heckling him and he couldn't do his new material. I grew up with copied tapes in the school yard of his songs and have always remembered that inner twelve year old humour, much like Bottom with ade Edmondson an rik mayall. It takes smart people to write stuff like that and for it still to be funny. His views are his views much like the people who go to see him. Look at where they are from, what their lives consist of. An anthropological person could probably put it better than I could.

He comes across as a genuine guy with a love for the comedy business and traditions. He went down the blue route because it made him more popular, he got cheers after mentioning asylum seekers, but if he had gotten a cheer when he made mother in law jokes he would be telling those instead. If people take what he says seriously (and just look at him? He's one of the only comics dressed like an actual clown) then that is a problem. It's a comedy show, not a fascist rally and both fans and critics need to realise that. It exists to be funny, not to be held up as truth or suppressed like is part of some racist/fascist call to arms.

Chubby makes people laugh
In today’s world that is a wonderful thing

A legend & loved by us working class Brits
Forget " class" it is Britain's curse.
Always remember watching Chubbs live in Liverpool when he told the audience that he may not be able to sing Alice etc because of his throat cancer. Whilst he couldn't sing, he still put on a brilliant night with that added bit of emotion.
had the privilege of knowing the man personally such a down to earth man very funny its an act don't pay the money or watch him if offended its a joke he is a comic genius love the man to bits
Don't change Roy, you say what won't be said by the sheep who think you are not allowed free speech anymore, your a legend
lol shut up idiot.
Whats the difference between Santa and a jew?
Santa goes down the chimney !
@@mogadon7and Santa would bring presents, a Jew wouldn’t. 😂
As the saying goes.. if you dont want to watch it turn it off.. its only harmless fun.. good man Roy..
Put it on my bill please...."
Say what you want about Roy, he knows his audience and is good to the public.
I didn't want it to end 🤝👏👏👏
Roy seems like a genuinely decent person who has achieved great things despite a troubled start. He entertains millions and creates joy and laughter. Well done chubbs!
He’s not funny, he’s gross. Probably makes a good living peddling filth. To me he’s an ignorant pig.
Absolutely Luke ! World is full of people who want you to 'not be offended' even if you aren't ! They offend me by stopping me being offended hahaha.
Meh, people should aspire to more. You're saying that being working class (whatever that is these days) implies that you're uneducated as well to find this funny in any way at all.
Mike Matthews I'm working class and think he's fucking shit, I think you're mistaking working class with being a fucking mong
+Fiveo waf
Couldn't have put that better myself.
well said and more and more realise this... do you reckon this nation will get off its arse though..?
Fiveo waf: you are correct sir.
Fiveo waf: he is attacking the working class this narrator tit
That's because the narrators job in this program is to report/interview Chubby, sadly it's a fact that Chubbys comic act is a reflection of his personal views/hatred too. Therefore this narrator gives a very well rounded, fair account of Chubby - Chubbys views/attitude are spoken from his own mouth!
The poor audience would have needed cheering up after enduring The Krankies act
He's clearly a very naturally artistic and creative person. Musical, articulate, etc. But due to the class system: He was trapped in a certain environment with limited prospects and the social safety nets and education system failed him until he managed to get some luck and build a proper life.
I can't help but wonder how many other very talented men like him there are and have been over the decades among the British working classes but who never manage to get out of the trap like Royston did....
He might be as rough and as vulgar as a blocked sewer but he's an absolute master as a stand-up comic.
I like the joke about his wifes cunt stinking of fish, ha ha.
Yep, the white, straight working class.

Absolute Legend. Just cos people get offended by what either Roy says, or anybody else for that matter, does not give them any rights. They can have an opinion, as we all can, but that's as far as it goes.
He is just a down to earth guy. Tells jokes how people want them!
His comedy isn't really my thing - but to me Roy seems like a damn hardworking guy, a good father, a loving husband and isn't afraid to speak his mind. The guy is entertaining people, making them laugh and bringing them pleasure. I don't agree with everything he says but I will damn well respect his right to say it any day of the week.
great words
His mind is repulsive though. Not everything is fit to be shared
again i say , great words. in this day and age i respect freedom of speech even more.
@@shylinh5939 don't listen then twat.
@@sonsen25 Cheers, great to hear from a real Roy Chubby Brown fan, and one who's probably defending his right to freedom of speech, lol.
I agree, he is very talented and seems very kind. He is a lovely dad and husband.
It's just words, that's it. I find the torture of animals offensive. I fight someone who walks into a school with an AR-15 offensive. Roy has never hurt anyone.
Nice comment freedom of speech is it not bull shit UK if your brown your safe if your white your fucked .
@@trustme5573 Exactly, it's funny how the word, "Cracker" meant as an insult is freely used against white people. It's also funny how more black people use the "N" word than white people do. Not uncomfortable for me, I love him.

Doesn't seem to stop the likes of lefty comic Frankie Boyle. He got dumped off mock the week for "offending". Not sure of the political leanings of Messrs. Gervais or J Carr, but be a working class bloke and tell an edgy joke and you could get banged up for hurting peoples feelings.
If the PC thought police want to censor humour, they'll go for the small fry, get a legal precendent set and then the likes of RCB, Gervais and Carr might have to start "revising" their material.

They have gone through history hating on many races. The nazi's,then the Japanese, the vietnimise,russians,communism.. And then saddam hussian and his 'none existant' weapons of mass destruction!
