Personally, I love Chubby, I first heard of him in the early 80s, (I was a teenager then) and have followed him since. As far as his material/act goes, if you are offended by it, don’t listen or watch it & keep your opinion to yourself. It’s as simple as that 🤷‍♂️. He does amazing work for his family and charity. He is a lovely guy and cares deeply for others.

He's making jokes, and he's very funny, only weak minded people can't see that. It makes no difference what his personal views are, nobody is perfect, and why should everybody be the same these days? No one ever really mentions how tremendously clever Roy's jokes are written, he writes all his own material and they contain metaphors, similes, puns and plays on words, when i first heard him 20+ years ago i was astounded with how intricate, creative and sharp-witted Roy's jokes really were and aside from the bad language and blue content it was actually how naturally funny 'Chubbs' was while performing ...

@@Will-nc7lpWill- VERY clever. He's a self taught piano player and the delivery/creativity of a lot of his lyrics is self evident. Yes he can also be crude and silly and make daft comments and "mother in law" type hunour, but there is a lot of work in his act. Sometimes he sings very fast and rattles off the lyrics and rhymes at a great speed. The rehearsal time and memory involved in delivering comedy music like this is a big skill in its own right.
He also speaks a lot of truth and is loved by a lot of fans who actually think for themselves, rather than just assuming he's "Thick and vulgar". There is massively more to Roy and his act than that and he's come from a very tough background to make something of himself. I will support him until he drops.

After watching this, I've come to learn a bit more about Roy and I understand him a bit more than before. He has every right not to care about other people's opinions/thoughts of him. He has every right to speak his mind, he has every right to look after his family, which is not selfish! If people don't like his comedy then you either ignore him or become unpolitically correct. I hate political correctness, it's a virus that millions have swallowed when told to do so, talk about lacking self-determination. What Roy Chubby Brown does isn't harming anyone and yet the presenter would destroy his reputation and career in a heart beat, were it in his power to do so. It's funny how so often those preaching tolerance are the least tolerant in our society, having no ability to be tolerant of any one with a differing opinion, or value system, from the agenda of the liberal left. If you want the right to act as you please, you have to accept that others have the right to laugh at you while you are doing it.

I entirely agree with Roy's philosophy on life and humour. Not much mention of Chubby's talents as a musician and artist too so really, the film just set out to disclose him as a rude offensive racist! But this is humour and he explores the freedom of it! True, lots of swearing and obscenities, in his act BUT Roy is so funny that it really works. And, I also agree he is NOT offensive ever because it is just humour without malice and clever use of language and words!! Words only hurt if you want them too. No wonder there are so many unhappy and angry people in this ridiculous PC world (not the shop selling computers lol). There are other some really cruel and insensitive comedians out there who attempt to be controversial but end up very unfunny AND offensive! (AND that includes the very unfunny Frank Skinner-and what a bore he is too!). Honestly, watching Chubby on RUclips, I have never laughed so much! What annoys me so much about this video is the pompous reporter with his offensive and prejudiced description of people "several sheets to the wind" queueing to see him. That is stated sarcastically and NOT in a humorous way! So what? How about all the overpaid celebs at these posh TV awards etc who are even a few thousand sheets to the wind, but with free wine and Champagne. How hypocritical is that. I admire Chubby sticking to his working class roots. What is clear is that Chubby persona on stage is balanced by his demeanour and family life in private. So, while he may never appear at the Royal Variety Show (that would be awesome lol) he still brings laughter to millions of hard working people, without being involved with ridiculous "celebs" who like to appear clean cut when they actually have more dirty laundry than a Laundrette! And if you want an example of someone who is spectacularly offensive to people, look no further than the Duke of Edinburgh!!

@@markstevens8072 Presumably, it refers to the group of people who broadly share a culture, though with multiple distinguishing regional and class/religion based markers. A common language, certainly a nationally understood language. Celts were here long before the invading groups who became dominant. Ending in the Norman Invasion, which brought about massive changes to the structure of the hierarchy and legal system and was a damaging and lasting influence, despite being relatively small in terms of the number of people involved. Over the centuries things eventually became more coherent and ended with what I described in the first few sentences. I imagine that's what the commenter, is referring to. I belong to a minority here, including my religion, but I know what is being referred to here, just as I'm sure you do. Culture is always undergoing change, but few societies adapt to and accept highly significant ones over a very short period of time. That's normal. As for Roy Chubby Brown, some of his stuff is gratuitously offensive and not funny, nothing here is funny in my opinion,. I'm not a huge fan of Chubby, but he does make one good point, there are no rules for comedy.
Chubby says the unsayable; in some ways we need people like Chubby to break the mould of political-correctness and the current trend whereby anything you say can be interpreted as offensive by one interest group or another. There exists a growing number of people who seem to actually enjoy being offended and feel validated in their views by their choice to take Umbridge with something said or done in the media. If you don't like it, don't watch it, seems simple enough to me.
I do like the fact that Chubby uses the word 'cunt' quite a lot. Love and peace.

I definitely approve of saying "cunt" a lot. But jokes against gays, Muslims, and asylum seekers are lazy and vile. I'm not saying ban him. Freedom of speech is freedom of speech. But look at Peter Kay. Need I say more?

He comes across as a genuine guy with a love for the comedy business and traditions. He went down the blue route because it made him more popular, he got cheers after mentioning asylum seekers, but if he had gotten a cheer when he made mother in law jokes he would be telling those instead. If people take what he says seriously (and just look at him? He's one of the only comics dressed like an actual clown) then that is a problem. It's a comedy show, not a fascist rally and both fans and critics need to realise that. It exists to be funny, not to be held up as truth or suppressed like is part of some racist/fascist call to arms.

These type of interviewers are never 'neutral'. They all have a left-wing agenda, and they all hate white working class British culture. I've never seen RCB or knew a lot about him before I watched this documentary, but it seemed that all the interviewer wanted to do was to ignore every other part of his act, and to paint him as a racist.

I'm flabbergasted, frankly. The interviewer clearly comes from a TV background and his agenda was to portray Roy as a bigoted racist. He suggested that he found Roy's humour offensive, yet I wonder has he lived in a society whereby the average white working class male feels, quite sincerely, that his way of life is under threat? I'm pretty sure he hasn't. To balance this production out, perhaps he should have gone into a black/Asian/Muslim environment, where they frequently slag off white people, and yet don't get criticised for it.
Apparently though, it is ok to criticise those that hold such views, whether said in humour or not. Yet the mainstream media is shocked and apalled that anyone would think such thoughts. It just shows how out of touch some people are with the British working class.
I don't care for these left wing twits, I think roy "Chubby " Brown is not only funny, but is, whether he realises it or not, simply voicing the opinions of a growing minority.

I saw him in 'Blackpool' some years back. I admire him for continuing with his stand up acts. He still makes many people laugh, it is what he is good at and it earns him his wage.
People need to realise that he has a stage identity, outside who he really is. His shows are pay to view, so if you find him offensive don't go. It is as simple as that.
