If you like phở cuốn you should try Phở cuốn hương mai, they have a few locations in Hanoi, not sure if they're in the south but they have the best phở cuốn hands down. Its probably the only time a restaurant chain has it over the street vendors

Pho Cuon is completely different from the Chinese rolls you ate as a Dim Sum dish in Cholon 30 years ago . It's actually a Pho variation newly invented in Hanoi .
Really appreciate it that you asked your Dad and Trang for their opinions about the foods and everything....Coz I do want to hear their opinions. Like Trang, I prefer to live in Saigon over Hanoi, it's just me. My ultimate location if I had to live in Vietnam is in Miền Tây (The Mekong Delta area) like Cần Thơ, An Giang, Châu Đốc, Kiêng Giang etc.
interesting...I've only been to Can Tho in Mien Tay and I thought it was ok to visit but that I might get bored living there full time...that said, I grew up in a big city so I'm kind of used to more people around
Instead of ordering those chicken wings with Ketchup , you should order the Canh Ga Chien Nuoc Mam ( fried chicken wings with caramelized fish sauce ) . This dish is much more flavorful .
haha unfortunately as it's a henna tattoo it's gone by now...but look back on the Good Morning Vietnam episode when he got the tattoo I show some close ups
Whenever my dad comes to visit, I take him to the airport, get his luggage out of the car for him, tell him to fu@£ off, and go straight away. That way it just feels easier.
What! $30 for this average meal! You were robbed! Unless you pay for the location. When we visited Hanoi in 2007, we ate every day at this place not far from our hotel, I think the translation was "Good Food Restaurant". It was mostly outdoors in a small garden. The food was excellent, very clean and reasonable cost. As for the location, I think it was near the Chilean embassy.
The pho cuon is more a Hanoi dish, probably why you don't see it as much in Saigon. You should have ordered the puffed up noodle (?) with stir-fry on top, most people seem to like that (saw it on Mike & Ashley's channel recently). Most Western vloggers love Hanoi more than HCMC because they like it's charm, tradition, architecture, etc.
I think Hanoi is a charming city, but there seems to be more a of disconnect between the locals and the foreigners in Hanoi...at least that's my feeling. Though, since I'm able to speak some Vietnamese I do feel like the Hanoi people were maybe more warm with me than they normally would have been

Who ordered those dishes? Such random dishes. Looked like a big fail. Your dad said the street food mi xao was the best thing there 😅. They gave you 2 whole wings with ketchup
Just a friendly reminder. Next time, please remember to use your own plate & bowl set. Staffs place them there for their customers to use. It's also rude to pick up the rice from its separated bowl with your chopsticks and then put them straight into another separated food plate. I noticed there is an eating utensil holder at the end of the table near the counter, you can use the spoon to scoop the rice or food sauce then put it into your plate or bowl. I know americans also have good table manner, so please keep it in mind from now on. You can eat the way you want when you're alone, but showing good table manner in front of others, especially when you film the actual meal and upload it to youtube like this. Some potential viewers might feel uncomfortable during their watch.
🧐 some people might find it rude telling an adult how to eat his food when he’s on vacation with his loved ones. Maybe next keep your thoughts to yourself. 😉🤷🏻♂️
@@TheNamDude Just because you're an adult, it doesn't mean you know everything and don't have to learn new things anymore. Learning one culture's table manner makes people from that culture appreciate you more, especially having meals with Vietnamese. It shows great respect to the culture and people can notice that you actually invested time on learing them. If you make mistakes because its your first time, then you just have to do it right by learning from experience. Its important to learn about one culture when you're living in one.
Why do you tryna put up Asian parenting nightmare stuff onto strangers on RUclips lol. They're obviously not your kids, stuff like table manners isn't real culture, it's just obsessing people try to act classy. Stuff like that only has a few hundred years of history and mostly exists in relatively rich households and doesn't represent a culture. Sorry mommy don't beat me. 😢😢😢

You're so calm and mild manner

Yes, they do have phở cuốn in Saigon. There is a place that just specifically makes this dish with different fillers.
I had that noodles roll in Saigon Chinese Q5 cho PHung Huug 30 years ago .but now it’s not very popular。thank you for sharing 👍🙏🫶🌹🍀

người Bắc thực sự lạnh lùng hơn so với người miền Nam, mặc dù họ cũng tốt bụng. tôi là người miền Bắc nên biết điều đó.
