- Horned Lizard Homecoming
The San Antonio Zoo breeds threatened Texas horned lizards with the hope of restoring them to landscapes that may once again support them. See some captive lizards take their first steps of freedom in this bold experiment.
Come to round rock. These are all over my yard. They are adorable. Maybe it’s because I don’t treat the yard for insects. I do have ants and I have geckos, those lizards that change colors and the ones in this video.
What is your yard like? Would love to have horned lizards in my yard.
If you love them like I do. Please join, The HORNED LIZARD CONSERVATION SOCIETY. please.
They are super cute and very rare to find. I haven’t seen one in over 15 years in Southern California and they used to be common to see when hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains
Thank you
this is my county's claim to fame. Ol' Rip Eastland County Texas. The horned toad that visited Grover Cleveland and died from pneumonia. We have him stuffed and on displayed at the county court house
Original name Blinky!
My children had one. Their poo looked like little moras. It was kept in a aquarium turned terrarium. they loved catching ants for it.
Man I would catch loads of those in midland as a kid and let ‘‘em go. You can’t really keep them as pets because they are so specialized.
Awesome
How many times has the dog been “squirted” by the lizards?
💚
Great job! Best of luck to all the zoo's repopulating these species! I have not seen any horn toads. I do keep my red ant mounds undisturbed.
No vaya a encajar los cuernos😊
