  • 4 day bikepacking trip along the Arizona Trail. Riding from Flagstaff, we successfully reached Tusayan AZ, about 100 miles away, in two days. It rained all day on the second day and made the riding a bit slow going. On the way back we mainly stuck to gravel roads and did 77 miles on days 3 and 4.

Great video! Did you say climbing 9k feet on day 1?? Wow thats hard at 7-8k feet if elevation with that gear. Impressive! Did you intentionally ride with helmet unbuckled?
Overall a tremendous effort. Since you have a house there are you acclimated to the elevation. I always struggle when im riding atound flag. Im in PHX so the elecation always gets me up there.

Great video, I hiked that in October nobo and am thinking bout doing your loop by bike. What camera were you using?

The camera I used is a DJI Action 4 on both a chest mount and the included tripod rig. Its a capable camera and I appreciate the hands free. Going NoBo on the AZT with a weighted bike is a bit of a chore. The rocky single track up to the base of Snowbowl is never fun, but with a 65+ lb bike it was particularly rough.

Hi, Sweet trip! I am looking to do the same ride this March. Did you follow the Arizona trail the whole way or venture off on the way there? On the way back what was your route? Would you mind sharing yoru gaia or strava track? Thanks!!!

Here is the strava route. You can convert to route and download the GPX. We took the AZT from Flag to the South Rim, then took a more direct gravel route on the way back. It’s possible to do the whole way back in a single day. it was 74+ miles back and we did a route with some hills and elevation gain. www.strava.com/activities/9920287774

Greetings fellow 600x owner. I’ve used an Aeroe rack on front and back and had a little difficulty with front rack. I see you moved yours below the cables … does it rub on the frame at all ? Considering GDMBR next year. Might visit a friend in Prescott and ride that area too. Thanks for posting

The 600X is legit ❤! The Aero front holder works pretty well when you clear the cables at the top of the rack. It does not rub on the frame at all, and I do have it rotated down a fair ways. From the stock 600X I added a slightly longer stem, which may help with the frame rub on the head tube compared to the stock stem length? Not sure. I’m hitting the GDMBR in 2025. At least thats the plan. If you want a companion for your Prescott rides send me a DM.

@@nateyoung4869 Maybe the longer stem is the trick. did you really crank down on the tightness of the bar-straps? Piss poor design - imo. Similar racks have bullet proof mounts, but good to know you've had success , thx!
