The back and forth comparisons of the rotating vehicle modes was beautifully executed.
The car one was, I for the life of me could not get the robot to stand the same way as each other. I really wanted that part to turn out better.
I like this set honestly, this sideswipe looks better with sunstreaker than the siege. The skywarp is also a cool lil character to have. I'd like to have a combiner version but this works for me.
It does fit with the Sunstreaker more yes.

I know he's not a huge change, but I love the more cartoon accurate look of him. He goes great with sunstreakee
And that's perfectly valid, the only problem is justifying it when the knees are worse, and the thing comes with like 30 dollars of toy you might not want.
I personally like both figures in the set. I like the amount of retooling that went towards making Sideswipe into an earth car, even though the Siege was already passable. Skywarp i like a lot because, well, eagles are sweet birds. And while its not super convincing that its not a man doing funky yoga, it still looks good enough for me.
I really do hope you find success with Patreon though! And I'm hopeful you'll be able to keep on trucking with this! We'll all be here for you!

When it came to the Siege Sideswipe figure, I brought it. But the dirty white on him, didn't really sit well with me. Then this Kingdom Sideswipe was revealed. And I like this version more. The white is clean and the red shines better than the Siege version. Sure, there are some little changes to the mold compared to the Siege version, but it just looks cooler. As soon as this earth mode Sideswipe was revealed, I gave my Siege version away and awaiting my Battle Across Time 2-pack cope of him and Maximal Skywarp.
I do prefer the colors here my self as well.

I think that this Sideswipes is perfect… for Sideswipe only. Maybe it can be retooled (yes, again) into a G1-reimagined movie Bumblebee.

i find it kind of enjoyable that sideswipe and sunstreaker both have roofs with bad colour matching

Coming back for a second time to mention, one use I see for this guy is the ability to have a new Sideswipe, freeing Siege up for the toyhax conversion set into Gobots Optimus for those who want a Chug version of the mold.
That confused me for a minute there, cause I forgot that this was the kingdom version because it's just the same thing again.
Exactly what u said about sideswipe having great dna but falling short as a descendant is how I feel about the kingdom waspinator. I found him yesterday and bought him. He feels cheap in hand, small, spindly, his “blaster” sucks, and everything wants to run into each other. Not to mention wasp mode despite being “realistic”, you can most obviously tell that it’s not which I know has been a problem with Waspinator but damn, I want the thrilling 30, I know where I can get one so I might have to get that one and return this one. The one thing I can say I like is the fact that he looks good with the other predacons (despite being shorter than blackarachnia) and I like the purple on him although I would have preferred clear wings as they would have been more show accurate. His head is definitely better than the T30 in terms of paint tho.
The Thrilling 30 figure might be less good than you think it will be but who knows.
Why is Waspinator smaller than Blackarachnia, he was above average for the show? Why univerzzze hate Wazzzpinator!

When I got my Siege Sideswipe, all the joints were loose and he couldn't stand up at all. I also prefer the colors over the siege figure. So I really prefer the Kingdom one.

The rocket launcher peg has only broken on my netflix deep cover… and i own 3 of this mold
I mean 1 out of three is technically a really bad ratio. Like if we take your statistic and apply it to everyone who buys a Sideswipe that would be 33% of everyone breaking their figures.

Be glad your copy of Kingdom Sideswipe did have the issue mine did, where one of the wheels did not even spin, due to some excess plastic not being removed from the inside of the wheel. (grunt) :P That said, I enjoy that the windows on Kingdom Sideswipe are the same as Earthrise Sunstreaker. :D Keep on being amazing.
I got this set because I never had a Sideswipe before (except that old really bad Cyber Battalion figure). I'm just on a hunt for earth modes (except Mirage), and I just really like this guy. He animates well in stop motion too.
The original animates slightly better, but yeah this figure is still good, so if you've never had one this is a fine way to start if you also want the Skywarp.
I got this toy from Amazon a month ago.
I have to sand off the white paint on the flat tab of the launcher, so I can attach it to his left shoulder better.
Yeah, Hasbro and Takara should've casted his weapons in white plastic instead of using leftover stock of black weapons and paint them white...
Hope your sanding goes well, just be careful so it doesn't break.

Honestly I think this looks better then the previous one, especially in the white I’m not sure if that’s just the camera but something about it just pops.
The white is very nice. It's just the rest of the figure has some issues. But yest the white is better.
Perspective, imagine this Sideswipe in Silver and charcoal black to look more like the movies. It would look perfect

I never got any previous version of the mold. So having this guy is a delight and the Skywarp is a great bonus. The purple on the original airazor just bugged me to no end for some reason so the entirely new head fixes that for me. All in all, I'm satisfied with this set. Great review
Thank you very much. Yeah the DNA of this figure is very good, it's not tremendously worse, just slightly and it has it's own advantages. If the knees bent the same as ever I don't even know that I'd really call this worse.

I think they left in the windshield detail because ER Sunstreaker has that on his (It's less pronounced due to seams running through it, but it's there.)

Funny thing, on carousell (its like Singapore's Facebook marketplace) some guy was selling ONLY the Kingdom sideswipe so I didn't even need to pay for skywarp it was like 40 SGD. Life's funny

Yeah, I agree, but no joke, I found a takara sideswipe for £899.99 and the normal hasbro sideswipe is roughly £50+tax anyway so I might as well get a slightly worse figure along with skywarp anyway.
Coming back because I happened into a Gigawatt and was curious what you thought about it's toolmate...
As Gigawatt came before Kingdom, I suspect they reused gigawatt's leg retooling, which had the vents on the back of the delorian collapse into the back of the legs, but due to the design, reduced knee bend to about 1/2 of Siege's
I mean the siege had the same engineering for the legs the tabs just weren't as long.

That's an interesting viewpoint to have, in that case I do whole recommend the original in near every way.
My copy of Siege Sideswipe's chest flap doesn't flop about easily. In fact, the chest is pretty secure when in robot mode. I do have the floppy legs on my copy of Siege Sideswipe.
I've seen so many complaints about the Sieges chest, I just thought it was universal at this point. Weird.

I originally wanted to call 20 dollar donations "Deluxe Class" because that's the price of a deluxe but that felt like it might be demeaning.
At least his shoulder can have the cannon on it…

The siege figure and the New kingdom figure do have backward movement on the sholders but its on a ratchet, so you need a bit more force to move it.
I am so tempted to try that, but it feels like I'm going to break the thing before it moves.
Also did you know that the er cliffjumper was rerelased in the buzzworthy bumblebee line but with a new paint job.
My ark's right shoulder ratchet shaved off its connection to the plastic. So the ratchet is in tact but it isn't connected to the plastic it was on anymore. Which means the arm is basically hanging on by a thread. It won't fall off but it's loose as HELL. I recommend going in to the arms and loosening the tooth that moves the ratchet. Either by sanding down a little or compressing the ratchet tooth so it passed the ratchet easier. I did it for my left shoulder and it's a lot less tight now but can still hold a pose.

There’s something so addicting about transforming this bloke to me, I literally can’t stop it. Hell, I even love Skywarp aswell, he works as an amazing little display piece for the beast wars figures. It’s just a damn good set IMO. Honestly, my only issue is that Skywarp’s feather colours look more like Airazor’s colours than Airazor does lol
I don't know, I still feel like he's not dark enough brown.
And I think that of the transformation for the original one, this one just doesn't satisfy me on that front here.

Honestly it still just makes me wish we get an Airazor with show accurate colours because as of now, her feather colours look too similar to rhinox’s hide colours and it makes the group look a little less dynamic all together
I don't understand why they couldn't paint the back of Skywarp's head brown. It would actually hide it in beast mode.
You should do merch as well. It gives people more options on how they want to support you.

I missed out on Siege Sideswipe because Australian retailers are fucking _dire,_ so this guy's gonna be my Deluxe WFC Lambor once my Pre-Order ships in December.
Well I'm glad you get a chance at the mold, this is only BARELY less good than the original. The gut hole, and lowered knee rage are all that really holds this back so you should still be quite happy with it.
When both of the 2 packs first came out i had them both in my cart and when I clicked check out they were both sold out

I wish Hasbro would have made a Siege version of Sunstreaker. The Siege Sideswipe version looks so much better especially with the Toyhax decals.

Thankful to have your input on this figure. I wish they could get their 'upgrades' dinner in a way that felt like it was. I like certain parts of this mold, but overall I like the siege feel more. I wish I could somehow cannibalize both figures to make one great figure.

Your comment about the painted missile sticks out to me here. I managed to get a Kingdom Red Alert before this pack arrived to me and I compared the two. Red has the same accessories, but his gun and missile launcher are unpainted black plastic with a red missile. But on further imspection, it was really a white missile they painted red. Then I saw Sideswipe's missile was a red one painted white. What exactly were their thought processes here? Painting a piece surely costs extra, so why make it in two colours and paint them the opposite colours. I just feel like all logic with it was thrown out. Damn, I am a lot more wound up about this than I thought.
I will tell you precisely why.
That missile is on the same Sprue as part of the robot mode, and not with the rest of the launcher.
So some part that's black on Red Alert and Red on Sideswipe, comes with that missile as part of it.
It drives me nuts that before this came out i was like "we need an er sideswipe cuz the lambros need an identical car mode" and we got it.. via an overpriced boxset at a time when er streaker was badly distributed and impossible to get. Le sigh

Kinda surprised this re-tool has that many downsides compared to the original.
Also while you don't want to limit shoutouts to just Patreon backers, perhaps it would be a good idea to give them garenteed shoutouts at the end of your next sets of videos just until you come up with a perk system for backers.
Problem is if too many people sign up for the Patreon, it will drown everyone else out.

The tip of the gun just constantly wants to pop off if touched even the slightest, Mini Con is great tho 😅

I personally love the bright red on this Sideswipe, it just does it for it me. For the Patreon, why not make it that the Patrons can vote on what future videos are about, people who don’t support the Patreon can still suggest videos and stuff though.

I'm going to nitpick that Kingdom Sideswipe and a lot of the Earthrise cars don't have rear-view mirrors (and spoilers). How are earthling drivers supposed to know if objects aren't closer than they appear?

I just recently got the new Sideswipe. He is awesome. Think you just got some bad QC issues with your legs, they dont flop on my copy
I've heard several people say that they have the same problems with theirs, but it is just a QC thing.
I own a few versions of the siege mold as I suspect most people do, being the netflix sideswipe, siege red alert and kingdom netflix deep cover (blue sideswipe) and I was really interested in kingdom red alert, just because I really enjoy these figures, but walgreens exclusive kinda kills it for me, and this one is amazon exclusive, so can't get that either, kinda hurts a bit but oh well
I like these but not enough to get too many of them.

So I have this set and there are actually somethings different from mine to yours. On your figure the chest taps in and the knees are floppy on mine the chest refuses to peg in properly and the knees don’t flop around the down side is the car bits around the knees where the pins are has already start to mar hopefully it’s like my Siege Soundwave where the maring isn’t a sign of breaking as my Soundwaves hand pins haven’t broken yet
So what I'm hearing is that the QC is just mangled.
