  • Today I’m talking all about cycle syncing (or your infradian rhythm) AKA how to sync your life to your cycle so you can live more in alignment, balance your hormones, and take advantage of your cyclical strengths. Your period and your menstrual cycle is not meant to make your life more difficult, and if we truly get in touch with our cycle and understand our different hormonal shifts, we can use our cycle to our advantage and become super powerful! This is important info every woman should know!
    In this video, I'm walking you through exactly how to eat, exercise, work, and embrace your relationships based on the phase you're in your cycle.
    This info is from Alisa Vitti's book In The Flo (link below) and I HIGHLY recommend you check it out! She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to cycle syncing and just women's hormonal health in general.
    This is one of my favorite topics to talk about EVER. It’s truly changed my life for the better and I hope you get some value from this video.

    What you said about it being crazy that all girls aren’t taught this. YES!!! Half of the planet needs this info yet we’re all forced to live like men. We need so many different things from what men need. This is why so many diets don’t work well for women either. Most studies are done on men and it just doesn’t work for us.

    • @JillzGuerin
      @JillzGuerin  3 года назад +54

      Exactly!! We are built completely different! You’re right, so many of the health studies out there like fasting have been done on men, not on menstruating women, and a lot of this kind of stuff doesn’t work for us. I hope that over the next few years this stuff becomes more common knowledge ❤️

    • @CycleCoachAcademy

      So true - so many research on diets (keto, fasting, low carb) was done on MEN and then applied to female bodied people. Not cool!

    Another RUclipsr describes the different phases of the menstrual cycle as the seasons. Menstruation-phase as Winter, then spring, Ovulation as summer and luteal phase as autmn/fall. That was very helpful for me to remember what to do and how to see the different phases.

I saw the doctor about it and all she could tell me is "if it happens again let me know" No advice , no information, no help whatsoever. During the ovulation phase we are more attractive too, our face is more symmetrical, we are prettier and subconsciously we dress sexier and we act more ‘feline’ to attract males 😄 my partner says he can feel my pheromones all over the place and asks what do I have today as he feels so attracted by me ? 😁😁😁 Women’s bodies are amazing ! I can totally relate to everything you mentioned , I have learned about this a few years ago and I already know not to be hard on my self before and during the period, even doing very little at work because I literally have no energy and sometimes I take a nap (thanks God for smart working 😂) Thank you for the video Jillz! Thank you for the informative insight!
    I'm now 29 years old. I still have so many questions about my anatomy pertaining to my cycle as PMS really hits me. Like many fellow women; I hadn't been taught much about my periods other than the typical symptoms. So many PMS symptoms are also symptoms of implantation bleeding, pregnancy, breast, and ovarian cancer.... the female anatomy is very complex.
    I had been extremely depressed w/ full-time employment which resulted in irregular periods. Now, I have more regulated periods since becoming a Homemaker/ Housewife. Though, I think understanding and syncing my cycle would help w/ effective delegation w/o feeling stressed. When I'm overloaded w/ stress; I miss a period or start late. When I feel airy w/ minimal to non-existent stress; I start my period on time. Stress dictates my cycle.... thank goodness I'm a homemaker now. Even so, I wish I knew which timeframe would be ideal to conceive so that I could finally become a SAHM.
    Hmm.

As years passed by i noticed my monthly flow became lighter and days shorter. Workouts did diminish my generalized anxiety...i did made my montly almost dissapear. Now at 29 i do workout bc my anxiety goes through the roof but my period comes only for a day and im lefr angry for the rest of my cycle bc i dont bleed. Maybe i should just cut the working out completely but im afraid my anxiety will come up again. Its a lose lose situation🤦‍♀️🙄

    This was amazing!!! Have you made a video on where menopausal, post menopausal, and pregnant females fit into this cycle syncing? I want to share this info with all the ladies in my life but I don’t know how to share with the groups listed above :) thanks!

    • @JillzGuerin
      @JillzGuerin  2 года назад

      So cycle syncing like this is specific to women having a period! Post menopausal and pregnant women have different hormone levels and they don't go in cycles like this. Post menopausal hormones are more steady, while pregnancy is more of a build up to birth and getting the body ready for labor and stuff 😊

    Hi ! I normally never comment on videos but I found this so interesting! Thank you so much for all the info.. I really want to implement this in my life but I've been on birth control since 15- I'm 21 now... does that impact cycle syncing? I definitely feel changes in my mood during the month but I've heard that the pill does block some hormones.. crazy how this stuff isn't taught in school!

    • @JillzGuerin
      @JillzGuerin  2 года назад +1

      I’m so glad it was helpful for you! So most hormonal birth control stabilizes your hormones meaning these shifts might not be *as* dramatic but you can absolutely still do it and benefit from it!!

    I understand that follicular is supposed to be one for planning and menstrual when u relax and ovulatory when u go all out and luteal when u bring things to a completion. This i think is relatively easier to do when you're a working person who is in charge of her work for example a businesswoman. She can schedule and reschedule her meetings and tours etc according to her phases. I find cycle syncing pretty challenging to accomplish as a student where we dont know when an exam would come up or when there would be any sports or other co curricular activities taking place. I obviously can't reschedule them according to my cycles. Any tips on how to cycle sync as a student?

    • @JillzGuerin
      @JillzGuerin  2 года назад

      Definitely a little harder as a student! It's just about doing the best you can...but my advice is studying the most and getting ahead when you have the energy and the drive (usually follicular and ovulatory phases) ❤️

    Hi! I really loved this video ,but I was wondering what if we wish to increase our muscle mass, how would we sync our workouts?

    • @JillzGuerin
      @JillzGuerin  2 года назад +4

      You can still apply these principles loosely! So for the menstrual phase, don't push yourself as much as you normally would. For the follicular phase, maybe do more reps, less weight, add in some light cardio. Ovulatory phase, try to push it hard and then start letting yourself rest more/go easier as you get deeper and deeper into your luteal phase. But I'm not a personal trainer or anything so take this with a grain of salt lol, but this is what I would do!
