  • It can be tricky getting fresh organic produce in the middle of the primal jungles of Belize, so starting our own garden was one of our first priorities. These 50 aeroponics towers are extremely efficient, allowing us to have over 2,000 plants in a very small area. These towers will feed our family of 6, our team members and all our guests, feeding up to 50 people!
Come along with us as we start our process from nothing to harvest, as well as building limestone grow boxes for root vegetables.
Our kids have absolutely loved being so involved in this process. We have never seen them so excited about eating the vegetables they have harvested from the towers. This garden brings us so much joy!

Oh my gosh, as a local, I find it super interesting in what you guys are doing here without destroying the forest but utilizing it to it's full potential. Also welcome to Belize and hope you enjoy our stay

What fast food place do all of you miss the most? I think your from Utah so my guess is Chick-fil-A or one of the soda shops like Swig.

Normally, if you cut the lettuce above the root, you can get 3-4 more heads. It’s called cut and come again method. Does that not work with hydroponics?

That is a really good question! I do believe for some of the produce you can just trim and it will grow back, but I'm not sure about lettuce. We will look into it!

How close are you guys to a big city? Like if you needed to buy paint or an ax or even a pizza?

We are about 35 minutes to the nearest city, though we do have a couple small villages between where we can buy some things.

Where did you get your seeds? Are seeds readily available in Belize? Looking to relate there and doing as much research as I can. Thanks!

Although the dosatrons will keep the individual reservoirs topped up with nutrient, you will need to check and adjust the PH/EC in each reservoir. Using the recommended timing cycle will result in a power consumption of up to 11kw per day. Its a lot considering the plants in each tower will only actually consume around 2 gallons per day. You should consider returning the 50x 45w pumps for a refund and install a centralized pump, which is much more energy efficient and involve far less maintenance. Hopefully you are not using the mineral blend nutrient, its a fairly weak formulation and very overpriced.

Glad it was of use. I have a couple of 35 site aeroponic towers that are super productive and use very little in the way of water or power. With 50 towers, it would pay to formulate your own nutrients if you have an agricultural chemical supplier in the area. You`ll save a small fortune on nutrient costs :)
