With an M4A785TD-M EVO, original bios, I had serious problems getting the thumb drive recognized (so I could increase memory to 16GB 1600). I finally got it working with this disk. The big problem was that formatting it the normal way often created gpt, or too large. Either way, it seems that the original bios for this mobo (dated 2009) had serious issues. I also, for some reason, had issues with fat32. Winning configuration: msdos partition table with fat16 set to 700MB (of the 16GB thumb drive). I created the partition table by making a new simple volume in dos, then in linux I formatted it as vfat. Parted -l (on linux) shows: Model: SanDisk Cruzer Glide (scsi) Disk /dev/sdc: 15.5GB Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B Partition Table: msdos Disk Flags: Number Start End Size Type File system Flags 1 1049kB 735MB 734MB primary fat16
Lol... just download the bios, save it preferable not hiden in 10000 forlders, restart, jump on "Del" button untill the bios screen apears and find EZFlash.... aint that hard.
bios updates are useless 99% of the time in fact they produce problems more often than they solve them reading the comments here greatly confirms that.
i put the bios file in the c drive, but the utility does not show it

It's built into the motherboard. You'll enter the BIOS settings if you keep pressing 'DEL' when the post screen appears
why did you update BIOS?
@plasheev I jumped on my Delete key and broke my keyboard.
