Literally just found out my former elementary school teacher is gay. She has been open about it for almost 2 decades which was before she even taught us, but none of us knew. And that’s because she didn’t talk about it or teach us it, she taught us math. Because she doesn’t need to tell literal kids about HER personal life, kids don’t need to know that about their teacher. And her job is to teach math, not her sexuality.

Same applies for any other part of one's personal life including politics and sides on x-issue.
Most of my teachers were like that. Only knew about what they were teaching, or maybe everyday things that applied to the subject; reciting in French about going to Stew Leonard's.

And that's the real problem today, the LGBT movement has been hijacked by weirdos with nothing in their heads outside being gay/bisexual/trans.
What straight person introduces themselves as being straight and tries to make everything about that rather than develop a real personality? For most gays the same is true, they don't build their lives, social circles and entire persona around being gay, it's just one aspect of who they are, but for the activists and those chasing clout as victims there is nothing else and these people are undoing all the good work done and good will earned by the LGBT community over the past few decades.

There's maybe a line between someone who ONLY teaches skills and someone who thinks it's her role to interfere in parenting. If a kid is sitting at their desk crying or showing up with bruises, taking an interest in the kid would be necessary. If a crying kid said "my dog died yesterday", a teacher might give them a hug or say something comforting that referenced their personal experience (as long as it wasn't pointedly ideological). This is something else. It's not a minor overstep or a lapse. Telling children (or claiming to) that their parents aren't their real families is psychotic.

That right there is all that needs to be said. The scary part is they think it's ok to cross the line and talk to children about their personal lives. No matter what that information is, it's wrong.

Speaking about "chosen family" isnt sexual. It's on the same level than teaching kids about adoption.
That being said, teaching about "chosen family" to young children is really delicate. At that age, you're likely to throw a tantrum and think your parents are being unfair for not letting you eat dessert first 😂 Can you imagine all the kids that'd be like : "I hate you, mom ! I'm not your child anymore, X's mom is so much cooler, SHE'll be my mom from now on!!"
Instead what this - and any - teacher should do, is speak about "chosen family" ONLY on case-by-case, if they notice and have SOLID PROOF that a child is being mistreated at home. And of course this conversation should happen with the school director and other competent authorities (social workers, children rights representants, etc) around.
But you claiming that "chosen family" is a sexual topic is just as unhinged as that poor teacher is 💁

Since you have already left and possibly seeking employment. Google, and/or go to one of the job listing sites and type in CHRISTIAN Preschool jobs or CHRISTIAN Teaching jobs. I don't exactly know the requirements of teaching in a Christian school, whether or not one has to be a Christian... IMHO it shouldn't matter, what is most important is teaching the basics even to the youngest of children. You'll have to investigate the requirements on your own. If you have the opportunity to be a voice of reason in another non-Christian or non-religious environment. I hope you do so and stand strong... find support for yourself. Thank you for speaking up... So everyone is highly qualified. We also have some pretty hefty rules and laws that prohibit filming, taking photos of or sharing information on children in school and childcare settings.

Our job as educators is to EDUCATE NOT indoctrinate. The only things my kiddos learn from me is basic life skills like washing hands, learning to walk/talk, and other basic toddler things needed to learn like socializing and simple math/english/science skills. That's it. I keep my personal beliefs out of the way of my teaching and I absolutely don't believe in thinking of the kids as your "chosen family". Are they my little buddies sometimes when it's time to play and I toss them around in the air (safely of course lol) or when we teachers are giving them hugs when they cry? Yes. Thing about preschool teachers is they don't have to hire qualified people (at least in my state). We have to pass a background check of course, and then complete some training once hired, but the entire industry is hurting for willing bodies so they don't necessarily require a certain degree or certification to become an assistant teacher in preschools. I straight up had zero experience and my school wanted to leave me alone on the second day to finish out the evening with about 8 two=year old kids and clean the classroom. I had to ask them to give me a bit more time to get used to the procedure and kids before they did that, and unfortunately that meant the teacher I was with had a 12 hour shift that day to stay later with me instead of leaving earlier like they originally intended.
I couldn't imagine working with someone like this person but I could see how they could slip in unfortunately

A facet of society should always be kept in mind when discerning such circumstances. However this woman should not be near children in any capacity until she gets some therapy to confront and acknowledge her resentment. One thing I will say, in regards to family and parents: some parents are not good, healthy or deserve to be caregivers to children-- my mother was horrible to me. You acknowledge this, thank you. Not all moms are kind and loving to their children. We must be able to acknowledge that for the children who experience this. Now, for the teacher: she definitely is in mental crisis, and should NOT be in the classroom. That is why I homeschool my grandchild who is 8. This video is wonderful. Your compassion and honesty are greatly appreciated and highly needed in today's world. Great job!!

It's more around 1-6 hours a day in highschool and middle school you spend roughly an hour in one class with one teacher. In elementary and preschool you mostly spend either the entire school day or six hours with your main teacher or 5 hours with your main teacher and 1 hour with a different teacher. Elementary in my opinion is where the majority of teachers indoctrinating kids would work.
