I think watching a top 10 list is not enough. I recommend to look into all summons per installment, they're all very nicely design and presented. My personal favourite are summons from FF10, 12, and 15. They're all have over the top attack animations what always wows me. Give them a chance~
Gotta agree here. Probably wouldn't start with the older games as there isn't much going on visually... But starting from like, 7, I think, would be best.
I think they should have mentioned Bahamut's other forms at least
What I find interesting about the WatchMojo list is that they don't even mention how in FF7 Bahamut has three different versions. Bahamut, Neo Bahamut, and Bahamut Zero with Zero being essentially a living orbital death laser in the form of a dragon.
One of my favourite ones to occur is the reveal of Ramuh in Final Fantasy XV, because of the sheer majesty of it all .
An interesting FF thing to react to. Summons are fantastic. I do for the most part agree with this list. More Final Fantasy please!!! Also, I chuckle every time you point out a similarity between FF and Kingdom Hearts. Of course they have similarities, they're made by the same company, the idea behind Kingdom Hearts was basically Disney meets Final Fantasy, so... Cheers!!! Oh yeah, my top 3: Bahamut(of course), Odin, and Fat Chocobo!!!😍😁
The latter was among the coolest. =) Just dropping down on the foes, like chocoBOOM. ^^
If you recall the Final Fantasy 14 cinematic trailers, Bahamut was the one that laid waste to the world in the first one!
Bahamut certainly does live up to his name.
If you recall the reaction you guys did to Final Fantasy XIV trailers, he was the creature trapped in the red moon in the first one of the trailer series.
While he's a devastating summon on his own in the other numbered titles, FFXIV cranked it to eleven in that the developers quite literally used Bahamut as a narrative tool to break the old world of the MMO (FFXIV 1.0) to pave the way for the new one after Bahamut's defeat (FFXIV 2.0/A Realm Reborn)
Top three aside from Bahamut?:
Diablos - FF8 (Red and black demon man born out of a magic bubble, uses the bubble to do crazy evil magic and poofs away as bats in the moonlight)
Yojimbo - FFX (A colourful ronin type character who has a similar skill to Odin but works for money and has a doggie)
Brynhildr - FFXIII (A fire-breathing hot-rod that transforms into a big fiery robot lady with a pickaxe-like weapon. Killer burnouts.)
Shiva has always been my favorite of the Final Fantasy summons. Though I've always had a thing for ice magic.
While Final Fantasy 15 certainly had some large issues I adored how Shiva was integrated into the plot. 14 also integrated both versions of Shiva wonderfully in Heavensward and is probably my favorite version of the character
Special shout out to Yojimbo, out there getting that bag!
I personally really love the summon animation of Diabolos from FF 8.
The first time you have to fight him is insane
Complete wipe me as I used the latern as soon as I received it and was not ready for that battle at all
Good list. There are so many amazing summons that you could easily have a list of 20, 30 or more. In fact, even Bahamut has three different iterations (bahamut, bahamut zero and neo bahamut) in Final Fantasy, each with very different appearances and different powers. This would have been a good video for you guys to do your draft thing!
I may be alone in this, but I love the espers in ffXII. They're completely unique to their game, and they're all pretty awesome, and get their own animations as well.
Please do more Final Fantasy stuff. I'd recommend checking out more summons per game or if you want something different, you can check out limit breaks! Something also unique to the final fantasy franchise.
Yeah FF12 has a special place in my hearth
Bahamut is one of the strongest recurring Summons in all Final Fantasy franchise, so no surprise there. It might not be the strongest in the game, but it is usually among the strongest top 3 Summons to be used in each game, and usually, the very first Summon you get that can deal non-elemental damage that hits or crosses the damage cap of 9999.
Fun fact- on the section for Leviathen they say he although leviathan has been female too.. in the world of final fantasy spin off game leviathan is much different than normal and voiced by Claudia black ❤
P.s Shiva the ice goddess was always my favourite
"I would've thought Shiva would be a dragon"
Interestingly enough, Shiva in FFXIV is a primal boss you fight. The incarnation there is based on a historical Elezen (elf) woman named Shiva who sacrificed herself to her dragon lover to bring what was meant to be lasting peace between man and dragon. The peace did not last due to man betraying a great dragon for power, and over a hundred years later, players meet a young Elezen woman who summons (or in this case, takes the form of) Shiva. She sympathizes with the dragons in their war against man, and believes herself to be the actual reincarnation of Shiva.
I don't know much about the lore of Final Fantasy outside of 14, but your comment makes me wonder if her other appearances in the series are tied to dragons as well. :)
Also if you'd like to continue your FFXIV journey, I'd like to submit some content from the second expansion, Stormblood. These two videos cover the tragic villain, Yotsuyu and her eventual transformation into the summon, Tsukuyomi.

I’m always excited to see Shiva when a new game comes along.
In FFVII Phoenix is best paired with final materia which casts the summon when you die thus reviving the whole party.
I love the summons, so much fun.
They're all so amazing but definitely Bahamut(ffx version), Shiva(ff dissidia NT & ff7r), & Ifrit(ff15) tho i have a soft spot for X's depiction in general for how blown away I was when i realized the singing in their temples is different because the summons are the singers+the secret reward for revisiting their chambers lategame being to converse with them
Ramuh has another one if the player is in a dungeon. He will throw his staff through the ground to pierce all the way into the ground to kill the target.
FFXIV's take on the Knight's of the Round is so interesting. There are 14 members in total (the 13 knights of the Heaven's Ward plus Archbishop Thordan VII replacing King Arthur). Each member of the Heaven's Ward in their transformed state is modeled after a knight from VII's version, including Thordan VII as Arthur.
Lastly Thordan's sword in 14 is Ascalon instead of Excalibur; which being known as a sword to have slain a dragon is a better fit for the story of the Heavensward expansion over Excalibur because of the events involving dragons.
As a long time fan, my top 3: 1. Eden: best animation and maybe longest animation too. 2. Diablos what can I say I like demons with wings hahah 3. Yojimbo. I like that he's still not necessarily on your side. You have to pay him to attack lol
Exodus and Belias from FFXII are my favorites ❤️ but the classics are really good 2! ✨
Anima is my favorite summon in the Final Fantasy series, both for her design and the unmarked quest you have to do to get her.
Designwise she’s a Mummy Venus flytrap that you literally drag from the underworld when you summon her.
However that is not all, at her neck a picture hangs representing the human she once was (all summons in Final Fantasy X used to be humans, who sacrificed themselves in order to become the summons)
And her quest is that you need to find all secret chests in the temples.
This in of itself is not that interesting, but if you missed any chests on your first visit you need to revisit the temples, and this gives you optional interactions.
First you may encounter optional bosses that are dark versions of the summons.
Second, you are able to go and talk to the temple fayth (the summons in human form).
They will speak of what will happen after the last boss is defeated, (however I can’t go into detail on this since it is a major spoiler that pretty much changes the games entire story)
I could go into more detail if you have no plans on playing the game, but otherwise I highly recommend you see it for yourselves.
In ff7, Bahamut works from home by just shooting a giant lazar from the moon
Yes! Out of all the summons, Bahamut is my favorite. I'm such a big dragon fan.
What Watch Mojo didn't include was showing Shiva's iconic diamond dust snap from FFX. They showed too much with XIII and the Shiva sisters. But they did choose great for #1.
Ramuh in XV tops the list for me. That entire animation showing the sheer scale, majesty (and framerate drop) amazed me in a way that hasn't happened for years! They got it to feel like powerful thunder SO well.
Ifrit, and Shiva are my two tops. Fire & Ice
My favourite summons are:
* Anima, as she is the most powerful and visual striking summon in FFX. She is incredibly cool and has shown up only two times.
* Alexander, his cutscene in FFIX wooed me and he wrecked the absolute shit out of Bahamut. Through he's unplayable in that game.
* Adrammelech, because he's the Capricorn zodiac sign from FFXII. Also a demon king and a giant thunder dragon.
Honorable mentions:
* Sin, the main antagonist of FFX, he technically counts as he is a corrupted summon.
* Good King Moggle Mog XII, because he was a pretty fun song.
FFXV summons are really cool to watch and they have a lot of the well-known summons so I hope we get a reaction to them sometimes other than that Amazing reaction as usual
In Final Fantasy VII Bahamut has four stronger versions of him;
Neo Bahamut, Bahamut ZERO, Bahamut Fury, and Bahamut SIN.
Man I cant believe they didnt even have Eden on this list, probably one of the best summoning animations in the series
Yeah Eden is one you never forget the first time seeing it. I was very happy when they recreated Eden's attack perfectly for the FFXIV Shadowbringer Eden raids. That just made my day when I saw it.
Right? It magic cannons you using the entire planet to a galaxy and explodes it.
Shit is insane haha
But in FF8 the GF summons at the time you get Eden are kind of useless even at 9999 per hit Lionheart does MORE damage then Eden's max 64,000 damage.
Yeah thatd be great if you could get lionheart on demand
Despite her "frosty exterior", Shiva also happens to be one of the most benevolent, gentle, and overtly friendly summons. Usually the only reasons you would fight her is over a misunderstanding, someone is controlling her in some way, or she is simply testing your strength/worthiness to summon her.
The summons who are generally the nicest and most friendly would probably be any Chocobo/Moogle summon, Shiva, Ramuh, & Bahamut. Bahamut usually takes the role of the "Big Good", where he's the most powerful "good guy" in the story next to the heroes themselves, and obtaining his summon is often a very big plot point where he first tests your worthiness by fighting you, and he's often a tough opponent to beat.
Bahamut will always be a top favorite, especially the crisis core versions. I'm beyond excited to see my boy come back in the crisis core reunion game coming in December.
When it comes to looks, Shiva would be my fav. :) Although the name, from what I found, originally belongs to a male, a god in Hinduism, it's cool they used it for a female summon. Her cool (pun intended) ice-attacks, as well as the physical ones from X and XI, makes her rock. :D Have not experienced all summons to choose a favorite for *performance* and efficiency, but guess it would be Bahamut, due to his powerful non-elemental attacks.
Final fantasy 8 has some amazing summons that really got me into the game 🥰 like eden itself. One of the longest summon animations BY FAR
Can't forget Doomtrain, appearing only in that game and nowhere else :)
@@minilabyrinth with such a dope animation too
FF did have some of really interesting Summons. Ifrit, Anima, Odin, Fat Chocobo, Bahamut... This was a great video and reaction again, ya'll
1.) YoJimbo ruclips.net/video/qgZLvH9A-C8/видео.html&ab_channel=JosuGames and his 1 hit KO Move ruclips.net/video/Hxh2kx75aSY/видео.html&ab_channel=NextLvlRoy
2.) Ifrit and last but definately not least
3.) The The Magus Sisters ruclips.net/video/3jhcv7IGEU0/видео.html&ab_channel=PeullMarcotte
Final Fantasy games, even tho EACH game is in a different setting, with a different world, characters and cosmology, ALL shares some key elements that put them into One franchise.
-Mogs/Moggles, little bear like creatures with tiny wings and rose/white fur, they serves as postal service and other things
-Chocobos, are the Austriches equivalant of the FF multiverse, they serves has Mounts be it for war or for travelling.
-Summons, through the games they have different names given the setting, they are called Guardian Forces in FF8, Aeons in FF10 and Espers in FF6 for example.
But they all have this in common, given the game they are a Temporary ally you can summon to your aid in a tough battle, or they can be summoned to deliver ONE powerfull screenwide attack.
Some are given to the player as part of the plot, some are extras that you need to search and find as hidden treasures and some are Bosses that you need to beat in order for you to summon them later on.
A LOT of FF summons are inspired by either Mythological figures or Historical figures.
LIke seen here you have Deities, like Odin, Shiva, Ramuh etc, Some are mythological creatures, like Leviathan, Ifrit/Efreet.
And some cultural/historical figures, King Arthur and the Knigs of the Round table, or Yojimbo, Yojimbo being a japanese culturale reference to an Akira Kurozawa movie "Yojimbo" whio is about a Bodyguard/mercenary, and like its namesake, in te game Yojimbo helps you in exchange for money.
Bahamut's always cool. The FF8 version of him and his summoning is probably my favorite take. FF7 has multiple versions that are all cool, too.
I'm also a big fan of FF8's Eden. It gets a bad wrap for being an extremely long animation, but it's a really cool animation.
I've only played Final Fantasy 14, the MMO (Playing it as i type this actually). I started as an Arcanist which is the Class that precedes Summoner. I dubbed Carbuncle "Funny Rabbit" and made fun of my opponents for dying to it. When you become a Summoner you kill the Primals, essentially gods, and channel their power into Summoned versions of them. Their first iterations are small and not very imposing looks wise but when you become high level you get an upgrade and can summon them in their full destructive glory. Bahamut, Pheonix, Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, and more i believe.
For those who haven't played F.F.X the best or worse thing about Anemia besides her appearance is her back story which you don't get alot for summons in these games. She was a mother who gave her life to become a summon to giver her child power and hopefully with that acceptance or at least recognition from her tribe or people but actually ensured he would be alone and swallowed up by dispare, his sorrow drove him to be evil and nihilism which led him to try to eliminate life.
Personally my favorite was Diablo, you can summon the actual devil. In F.F. 8 it was a cool optional fight to get him.
Yeah, Diablos can just stick his hand in a black hole and throw it at you.
You should watch some summon animation compilations. You’re missing out on so much but watching this.
I've never been much of a fan of WatchMojo vids. They always feel phoned in.
Still happy to see some Final Fantasy reactions on here ^.^
My Top 3 favorite summons:
1. Odin (notably in his FF9 appearance)
2. Bahamut (hard to pick a favorite appearance but likely FF7:AC)
3. Ifrit (Notably his FF7 appearance but FF16 is looking to supplant that)
This is obviously not a requirement but for FF lists I'd recommend pulling from "Final Fantasy Union".
Fun fact:
Even with the destructive reputation Bahamut holds, back in FF9 Bahamut gets OBLITERATED by Alexander Judgement, literally no response to his attack
To truly appreciate Bahamut you guys should really check out the Bahamut fight from the movie Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children. It's an absolutely brilliant fight.
fun fact with odin in FF14, whoever lands a killing blow on the wild odin, the next time odin spawns he will use that players character model
Outside of the god summons ( bahamut, levaiathin, Odin, Gaia, etc) my top 3 are mist dragon, ifrit and titan. Do have a soft spot for the elemental trio( ifrit, shiva, and ramuh)and the mascots(chocobo, moogle, behemoth, tonberry) though
You should check World of final Fantasy's Ultimate Attacks too. Those ultimates are amazing
I'm actually shocked they didn't include Doomtrain and Eden, from FF8. They're both incredible summons with awesome animations.
Truth be told, I'd rate Eden higher than Bahamut, if only because Bahamut is a common summon (and enemy) - especially in VII, where there are THREE versions of it.
Would love to see you guys react to the persona awakenings from Persona 5 Royal.
More Final Fantasy! There’s so much to react to! Maybe y’all could check out more Final Fantasy 7 Remake stuff? There’s some really amazing “game movies” out there with all the cutscenes interspersed with demonstrative gameplay. It’s a really special game, it radicalized me to environmental activism when I was a kid because of its themes and messages.
I recommend you to see the Final Fantasy XVI summons... they are something wonderful 😍
Knights Of The Round is my favorites because the entire summoning cutscene lasts a minute and a half and does a metric shitload of damage
And is long enough to warrant a break to go do restroom business and/or make a snack! Only other one of similar length is Eden of FF8 but that has the boost system to keep you involved if you care to bother
YOU SHOULD REACT TO SFM WHITE LIE SERIES ITS LEFT 4 DEAD STORY ITS VERY GOOD 👍👍 PLEASE REACT TO IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN
Yesss
Should react it's very good
Please do a reaction
Outside of Bahamut (and his other iterations in FFVII), i would have to go with Shiva, Odin and Ifrit. As honorable mentions though, my picks are Alexander, The Knights of the Round and his name escapes me but he is a samurai in FFX.
Getting into some Final Fantasy! Awesome! You’re gonna be surprised how many fans there are!
1:ifrit he the homie
2Bahamut
3: yojimbo, you have to pay him when summoned but he one shots most thing
Also Shiva an Ifrit are actually a couple they're usually the first ta join your cause.
While i think this is a good intro to summoning in final fantasy, i do hope youll watch a summoning compilation so you can see the full animations
Id recommend anything 7 and up, as its more cinematic summoning attacks compared to the earlier games
Would love to see you guys react to all the Final Fantasy XVI trailers
The cool thing is there are actually multiple versions of Bahamut such as Bahamut 0 and Neo Bahamut. Each of these use a different version of flare such as TeraFlare and Gigaflare. Further to the new games both shiva and Ifrit both have human forms. Even bahamut from ff15 is actually a human being in a massive, MASSIVE set of draconic armor wielding a massive sword. Alexander is by far my favorite because just revving up a war machine with the power to basically excise you from time and space is awesome. However this is one summon that i believe should've made the list and it's one i think you two should look into as it's so cool and that's Eden from Final Fantasy 8 and remastered into FF14 it has the coolest ultimate move ever known as Eternal Breath
Outside of Bahumat which is a great #1 choice due to his non elemental bio....my top 3 in no particular order are Shiva , Eden (FF8), and the underrated Neo-Bahumat (FF7)
Bahamut has always been my #1 fave as well. Followed by Alexander, Anima, Gilgamesh, Shiva and the Magus Sisters.
My top 3 would be 1. Ifrit 2. Knights of the Round 3. Bahamut. Top 5 would add 4. Odin and 5. Shiva
I'll always love Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, Shiva and Ramuh but Bahamut will always be my favorite summon.
FFX was such a huge part of my gaming as a kid. If you're interested in all summons from there, feel free to check this video out. Love you guys! ruclips.net/video/uk5MQS3Tino/видео.html
I second this video idea. FFX summons are awesome!
Quezacotl, Shiva and Ifrit are some of my favourites because they were the first summons I obtained. I also like Bahamut, Gilgamesh, Eden, Tiamat and Griever from FFVIII even if Tiamat and Griever are summons/Guardian Forces you can't obtain only fight.
Bahamut the legendary dragon
You should watch FFXII summons, the Espers, and their final attacks.
They are incredibly cool and stand apart from the rest because they don't follow the traditional conventions of Final Fantasy summons, and probably why none of them was on this list.
Each of them also corresponds to zodiac sign and it's always cool which are yours.
Agreed, but they should go the next step further and go through every Final Fantasy and watch all of the summons.
@@StrikerzCM That's a long trip with a lot of the same stuff. FFXII is unique in that its summons appear in a few games and have the zodiac theme.
Shemhazai and Zalera were so cool!
If you ever get the chance, especially with the Final Fantasy summons, it flies under the radar very easily, (because it is a mobile one) but check out the summons from FF Brave EXVIUS. Each summon gets 3 different Extremely high quality CGIs that are only 10-20seconds long each
I just recently beat FF15, Bahamut looks like a dragon knight in that one, defnetly my favorite, if he wasn't such an a-hole storywise on the Ardyn DLC...
The character design on 15 is so damn good!
Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children is well worth a movie reaction
this is actully a good list i would use the magus sisters to the list maybe at number 3 and bahamut and sheva are my 1 and 2
in some of the games the summons have special limit breaks, 10 and 13 being the standouts! might be worth a reaction :)
If there are any vids out there showing the whole animations for summons in VII, VIII, X and XIII, you could watch that/those too, ^_^
I recommend watching FF12, All Mist attacks/ summons. Thats each character's "super moves" then some of the absolute most insanely over-the-top moves in the franchise.
I'm curious why you thought Shiva would be a dragon.
Odd that they didn't touch on how Phoenix was used in FF6! The actual summon animations in that game were very basic, but it's used outside of battle in a very emotional scene.
about shiva and iffrit, they're often lovers as well.
I am writing this to help out ken and Bethany and this video and this channel with the algorithm ✌️❤️😚☺️
Knights of the Round would make my top 3 if it wasn't so damn long. It takes 50 years for that animation to finish
Knights of the Rounds animation for FF7 was so long. Like you could walk away to do something and it will still be going.
Same with Eden from FF8. But they're still cool.
Not sure how I feel about the list because despite loving the summons, I never thought to rate them lol. Always just sat wide-eyed watching the cool summons and going on that wild ride as they decimate my enemies. I think my favorite version of summons came from FF10, though!
1. Knights of the Round
2. Bahamut
3. Diablos
As a kid playing ff8 I looked at ifrit and went huh why he cute tho and that’s kinda explained a lot over the years
You guys might like the golden sun summons too
Watchmojo couldve used the shiva summons from XIV or XV lol
My top 3:
Shiva
Magus Sisters
Ixion
Bahamut although great wouldn’t be too 3 for me
Shiva is fav. I like Fat Chocobo, just a typical funny summon. He is super cute in the FF7 Remake.
1. Carbuncle
2. Leviathan
3. yojimbo
Woooooh! go Ken and Bethany :D bahamut is so cool!! I wonder how many total summons their are! Fat chocobo was still cool tho 😂
I think they missed the opportunity to show the FFXIV versions of all of these characters, as I feel they have the best and most updated models. But, my top 3, not counting Bahamut:
1. Odin - Badassery incarnate. In FFXIV, Odin is one of, if not the most powerful overworld enemy in the game (meaning not in an instanced dungeon or raid). There's even videos online of Odin killing an entire WORLD's worth of players with one attack. Another cool tidbit is that when fighting Odin in that game, the character who deals the final blow to Odin, Odin will bear the name of that character the next time he appears. He even adopts their race, so you can see a tiny 2' tall Odin riding a tiny horse just destroying people, as Odin essentially BECOMES the player who killed him. So, that lore alone makes him my favorite, and it's even more impressive considering he's not really relevant to the main story.
2. Alexander - I've always loved the name Alexander because of Alexander the Great, and also I love steampunk and machines and giant robots. The Alexander story of FFXIV is also very very good and has some very cool giant robot bosses.
3. Shiva - Shiva plays a huge role in Final Fantasy XIV and each incarnation of her has an AMAZING design. In her first appearance in FFXIV, she has a transitional attack where she freezes the entire party, chooses one party member, and steps on their head with her high heels to break all of the ice. She also has arguably the best battle music in the entire game (titled "Oblivion").
Clearly my list is very heavily based on FFXIV, but I've also put thousands upon thousands of hours into that game, so don't judge me.
in terms of power, EDEN is the most powerful lore wise. literally controls life and the balance of dimensions
y'all should watch Final Fantasy movies some day they are so good
My favorites are not on the list...not even in honorable mentions :(
Siren is a siren from the sea who sings and silences enemies
Garuda is the harpy queen and deals wind damage
Would love to see you guys react to the Final Fantasy 16 trailers.
Announcement trailer, ruclips.net/video/yr6PtdY0i7M/видео.html
Dominance trailer, ruclips.net/video/gV5rIW1Qums/видео.html
Ambition trailer, ruclips.net/video/tC-3kHd7Cjs/видео.html
Hmm 🤔 my top 3 FF summons outside of Bahamut, would be… Anima, Shiva Yojimbo haha all from FFX, my fav game 😂
*AYYYYY MORE FINAL FANTASY!!!!!*
Mine that not part of the list are Diabos(FF8), Atomos(FF9) and The Magus Sisters(FF10)
Let's be honest FFXIV could easily have an hour long video if they reacted to the intros to all the Eikons/Primals
Bamanet zero from class zero then Odin from xiii and last being titan from xv
Hm, i wonder how Knights of the Round would be like in FFXVI?
