eh, i Would not call it a cut content. A lot of stuff like that are made in the beginning just because it may be needed for later. Militech is a big corporation and plays a big role in the universe, so it possible they may considered at some point in early development to do something with it. But then decided to not. Doesnt mean it was cut mid development, just nothing came out of it. Same with different closed off installations that you cant enter. Those are most likely were placeholders for planned expansions. Whole area around Casino was definitely mostly a placeholder for future expansion. Of course now those are cancelled. And i think some areas most likely were never planned to have any real content and were made just for the size of the city. Would not be really that immersive if Night City was about 20-30% smaller in size, also would've conflicted with its representation in the tabletop books. SO they just added those unreachable places so that player felt that they are in a big city, bigger than actual playable area is.
It's such a shame we didn't get a Beverley Hills type of residential area to explain were all of Night City's rich and famous lived, a place to put the high end cars, high rolling NPC's and the posh shops.
@@isaacs4050 No, you do meet quite a few actually. Bes Isis, and Gilliean Jordan both in the Media, one is a TV personality. Obviously, there are many more but the story is not designed around meeting the Rich and Aimless... LOL
True indeed. The Executive Zone of 2020-2045 was a gated community only for the CORPO RICH, in order to get there by NCART you have to board a HIGH-SECURITY NCART, meet all the bioscanner demands, and pass through heavy Security. Alongside this area was New Westbrook which was a nice area, but after the war, it became a place of homeless. The Executive Zone still existed. Executive Zone Beaverville was all white picket fences and neighborhoods for the wealthy, not ultra-rich but wealthy. All that changed by 2077, but I imagine that North Oak would be the premier area of which you would have both Ultra-Rich, Executive Zone for Corpos and that of wealthy families. But on pen and paper, you can do whatever. Thats why pen and paper can exceed video games, maybe not visually.
The casino was a huge missed opportunity, they practically described 4 variants of people in night city, which included nomads, streetkids, corpos and those with rich lifestyle(concept art), casino would've been the prime area for those 4th kind. The concept art of this looks gorgeous and I had hopes that it would make it to the game with Phantom Liberty but sadly it didn't. Hopefully a mod in the coming times can make it accessible and explorable

@@EnvysWRLD i couldn't think of the exact word I was trying to portray but I think you get what I meant, there were 4 types of concept arts describing people of night city, I'm talking about the one which says "Style and Substance" we can see the casino behind. So maybe we had another lifepath possibly? And the casino would've been strongly linked to that
Imma be honest. Night city is still hugeeee af. Im still finding lil alley ways and areas ive never been. Its such a mind trip to think theres so much i havent seen and ive beaten the game like 3 times already and just finished the phanton liberty dlc
I accidentally drove my car off of a massive ditch thing into this like valley of trash and it was below the streets with people walk around and stuff, really tripped me out. There is so much to NC.
Yeah I have recently been calling my car less when I'm going between gigs and scanner events and ignoring the guide line and just sorta nosing around the little nooks and crannies of the city as i head to my destination, it's incredibly detailed, and like, you just zoom right by it if you drive everywhere. I do still grab a car when i need to cross the badlands, though, not a whole lot to see out there.
Since we’re not getting anymore expansions for 2077, I just hope the next game will expand the already existing night city map. They’d save a ton of time on building an entire new city from scratch and can focus on the outskirts plus more interior environments in the main city.
@@tigrispanthera5496 why not? Base lore takes place here. It won't be a bad idea to expand upon the existing, maybe even throw a few more locations like the witcher 3

I really like this game I think there was plenty to do, I have big hopes for them switching to Unreal engine. If they can get the hang of it quick enough I'm sure they can do all the things they couldn't.
@@stevenroberts4356The launch really screwed them over big time. They made a very good story (one of the best in my opinion) but unfortunately it was all covered up by bugs and glitches and they spent years fixing the game. If the game didn’t launch all bugged they probably would’ve added so much to the game (probably make the map 20-25% bigger and add tons of more things) I’m very excited about their next game because Cyberpunk 2077 has turned out to be one of the best RPG/open world games of all time.
I honestly hope for Project Orion, that they take Night City and use the development time to use the rest of the map and expand on things already there, more internal buildings, more NPC’s, more things to do. Imagine the entire map playable and dense like the rest of it.
Yeah but they are switching to unreal engine 5 for Cyberpunk 2. So will they be able to simply " transfer " the city from red engine to UE5 and then improve on it even more ? Or will they have to start from scratch all over again ? Personnaly I think like you, I want them to use the same city in Cyberpunk 2 because I love it so much and it has such an identity and level of detail in the architecture, I want them to take the same city and make it even bigger and add more content in it, but will they be able to or not since Cyberpunk 2 won't use the same engine, I don't know
engine to engine assets transfer shouldn't e much of an issue, they'll probably revamp the textures, detailing and improve upon everything which was a limitation in the RedEngine 4. Distant rendering was the biggest issue imo, 2d cars low poly textures even on max settings were a bit of a letdown. Now they have the power and opportunity to improve upon all these limitations and add even more. I really hope the artstyle from the original game stays, I know realism will be focused upon, but something about cyberpunk makes it feel so good in its own way. We shall see when we get the product. Let's hope for the best.@@mordor1779
@@mordor1779I think they will start from scratch because of all the minor screwups all over the place. The rushed it out so much there is a lot of missing code and impacts everything else about it. A lot of textures that while you can see them, you can't touch them and just walk through them. I am hoping that they have paid attention to their mistakes and will rectify them all on the second time through. They swore that we would get a smaller map in comparison to other games, but in return we would get vertical exploration instead, and in partner we really need flying cars. That didn't happen. And all the cut and shallow content was severely impacted. Not to mention the lack of older adult content. Liberty was a DLC in the correct direction and is just a tiny preview of what we could of gotten. I really wanted to see a massive story change at the end of The Heist. Jackie dies if we go to Dex and we become Johnny, maybe he survives and becomes Johnny if we went to Evelyn in the cab instead like the story hints.
That space is a great opportunity for modders to take advantage of. Custom DLC gigs, areas, quests, hell, maybe even a modded ending. I'd love to see that space used as racing gigs or living areas/apartments.
@@nekokindsCyberpunk's Game engine does not allow for such extensive modding like that of Bethesda's game engine, hell no game allows as many modifications like Skyrim or fallout because they were games built ground up to be modded and modified by players.

I really wish they would do more dlc. Even if it's not a full one like phantom Liberty, some more gigs and side quests would be great. Lots of places on the map to put them. Adding sections would be cool too. The way things are in the gaming industry sequels worry me. Rather them just build on what is already working considering the engine took this long to get to this point.

So a bit of context for that prerelease map you pulled out: It dates back to about 2014/2015. By then, they had already begun with the actual city blockout and had found the actual scope of the game map. And the original preprod version of the map was just way to expansive for 400 developer core team. North oak had a couple for buildings in the newer version of the map, but not anywhere near as many as you suggested. The north oak casino was a concept solely for cyberpunk online. Regarding the ncart rail you said could have originally been a road: No, that was basically always a ncard rail. And yes, of course during phantom liberty preproduction this was all rediscussed and there were some meetings regarding the casino and north oak but as you all now see the main focus was decided to be dogtown.
theres also a huge factory that is at northside of watson which is clearly a cut area, even the entrances have hostile area indicated, I nocliped there and that is a pretty huge area as the walls of the area is covered with barbwires so you cannot possibly go inside
I think they kind of shot themselves in the foot by closing the cyberpunk chapter, they could have easily pumped out one more dlc and finished up those areas too, and then in like 2024/25 release the definitive edition...
I am loving these vids. Cyberpunk 2077 is an amazing project, it still amazes me how big and ambitious it is. CDPR tried to pull a real RockStar GTA from their sleeve. I am really sad things went down the way they did - I can easily imagine a live service game on this map doing well for 5-10 years...
I think that the best way to understand the cut content is to look back at the ttrpg that inspired the game. In the Ted ttrpg, where i presume the Casino matches up with, is a blue/exec zone which is one of the safest areas in night city and also where a lot of industry and social events take place. Corpo conventions and balls, red carpet, different companies snd actors making releases and debuts.
Imagine there was no publisher pressure to ship this game early. The completed product we could've had.... fleshed out hills area with casino and fully working ncart system to be used by the player... 😭
Not a publisher pressure but management pressure. CEOs needed money and they needed it fast to fill their pockets and please the investors. They launched a marketing campaign too early hoping that the game would sort itself out.
"We made the Witcher 3, it'll work out" mentality ruined this game. It feels like CDPR magic destroys this chance same as with BioWare with Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem.
Seeing the subway map in the early trailers it's massive and being able to walk around and fight in the subway cars and having underground metro would be cooool
im holding onto the copium that theyll give us in depth redengine tools now that theyre moving on that way we can really make a lot of stuff for W3 and 2077. Probably not, but who knows.
@@prrrrrrrefect They'd be fools to do a Cyberpunk 2077 2.0. Even the investors that don't have a clue about game development won't be that dumb next time. Who knows, maybe the disastrous launch of CP2077 would end up making the next game even better.
What's really fascinating is that this early casino is evidence of an earlier version of the Phatom Liberty story, as there is a casino scene in there. As they refined the story in Dogtown, though, they realized the casino had to be in Dogtown, and that's what forced them to put it on top of a skyscraper inside Dogtown. Dogtown has a really amazing amount of verticallity in its content as a result of this limitation
where did you get this info from? Sounds Like your making it up. please say its not factual. Just because there is a casino here and one in dogtown does not mean it was related. dogtowns casino is rugged and merc style. It was a secret oasis for the rich. This is loud and has a presence of wealth. seems to me it has to do with a corpo "fun" area. OR the rich and famous.
I really hope Cyberpunk 2 (Or whatever they end up calling Project Orion) takes place in Night City because it would make developing the next game so much easier by using the current Night City as a guideline and be able to more easily expand on it. Things like an expanded North Oak with the casino, more stuff in the Badlands, access to the Arasaka Dockyards, maybe stuff in the oil fields or the trash heap, something more with the Biotechnica Flats, and access to other megabuildings around the city including the Militech Night City HQ. There is so much that could be added to Night City and CD Projekt being able to use the original Night City could help save a TON a development resources that could be put into these other areas or other additional content like quests or guns.
I'm not sure about this but I think that greenery portion of the map is NC's Executive Zone. It's like a subdivision of the top corpo elites of NC with greenery and best security detail (Lazarus Group, Military Corp). Hence, making it locked off outside Night City. It was also stated that there was a specialized NCART track from Executive Zone to NC.
My prediction is Project Orion (aka Cyberpunk 2) will still be set in Night City, but with a significant time jump allowing the devs to further expand the city and use these areas which weren't utilised in this game. The map has plenty of room for expansion, so it would make sense to fill these areas
The crazy part is how the Casino is even used in the tv ad for Cyberpunk 2077 yet it's the only part now since the latest updates in that ad that aren't a thing within the game since the driving and shooting mechanics were added.
Approaching the casino from the badlands used to automatically turn you around and display a message saying 'There's nothing here for you... yet' (same as the spaceport). Now it just says 'There's nothing here for you', so they obviously had plans to add it in at some point that were later abandoned. It might have been intended as the original location for the Black Sapphire, but they decided it was easier to implement the infiltration part of the mission if it was all in Dogtown. I believe there were originally supposed to be more tunnel areas throughout the map, but they were mostly cut at quite an early stage. You can see how maybe without them to work with it'd become harder to link things up and just sticking the casino in the tower would become a simpler option. They might also have decided it worked better in Dogtown for story reasons, although personally I think it makes more sense for the high-rollers to be going somewhere less ruined, grimy and littered with dangling, mutilated corpses to get their kicks.
"What could've been" were the promises they made but did not deliver, sure the game that I'm playing RIGHT NOW with the update is good and if not, fantastic. But it's always better to remember to look back and see what they were trying to sell off. I bought 2 copies of the game hoping that everything or at least most of what was from that 48 minute "gameplay" would be present in the final game but instead, what I had was half baked and unfinished. That said, after spending nearly 100+hrs into the game, I cannot wait for Project Orion (Cyberpunk 2) to be finished and thinking positively that they will finally implement most of these cut content.

@@euclid4703 That's aftermath of pandemic, world economic recession, terrible release (not financial) and focusing on updates and Phantom Liberty. CDPR actually lost lot of revenue because of DLC and updates.
@@euclid4703Switching engines to an industry standard is a great sign and will help them hire talent. Their own bespoke engine was a pain to work with.
In early versions of the game, the map was shaded differently. There were two or three areas that were clearly meant to be expansions eventually. They all had roads that just ended in them kind of randomly. They had a blueish terrain shading while areas where it was clear they never had any intention of using were just flat black. After a laters update, that changed. One area I remember was north of the oil fields, another was the hills area, and another, I think, was in the bad lands area somewhere. I mean, in the early map, there were three areas that were still undiscoverable, but yet stood out from the rest of the undiscoverable area while having a pretty defined shape to them. Then it seemed like CDPR realized they couldn't produce all that and changed how the map looked after an update.
All that happened after they announced that they'll only do 1 expansion. Since the original plan is 2 expansion just like TW3. Honesty I don't agree with them giving up on the Red Engine but I guess they're having a really hard time to hire more people if they're gonna stick to that engine instead of going Unreal.
one recent part of unfinished or cut content is during the "no easy way out" quest in phantom lib, where you're supposed to be able to kill the animal gang that would otherwise kill aaron if you chose to get his chip deactivated, but alas the arena for them never got added into the game, so the animal gang enemies are quite literally just floating underneath the map, unable to be accessed
When I first seen it and had discovered of it, I was under the impression that it was a DLC area for the near future at the time. It seems like though that they decide to scrap the idea for DLC, and they're going to just focus on the next game. But at the same time, who knows. They surprised us with the 2.2 patch.
I hope the next Cyberpunk games are based in different countries. Would love to see Tokyo, London, Paris, or some other major city that is mentioned in this game by the main characters.
Would definitely love some historical European city. Sure, in Cyberpunk reality no one's gonna care about preserving historical buildings, but nonetheless some of them are gonna still be standing, probably. I wanna see them integrated into the cyberpunk cityscape
As neat as that would seem, it wouldn't really be the cyberpunk you know. Night City is THE setting for all cyberpunk games that 2077 is based on, it's literally a main character in its own right. They'd be turning off a big chunk of the more loyal fanbase if they announced the next game would mainly take place anywhere else. I could see brief visits to other locations but the focus kind of has to be night city
Naah. Respectfully, night city and north America is the perfect setting for this entire franchise. I can't fathom the levels of cringe having the next V be a french dude or even worse British or polish.
i yearn for the cyberpunk we never got, without half the game absolutely missing i love the game we got now but man... to think it could've been so much better. if things turned out differently, cyberpunk could've been like an all time top 5 game. hearing about all this cut content just makes me sad man.
I hope they realize that they got some good attention with phantom Liberty and pick up the project again and not to mention that there is also a bunch of buildings and props 90% done like that Militeck buildings and train system that runs around the city, heck in the first trailers V can clearly be seen riding it
Unfortunately, as @depressed_weeb0694 alludes to, it's not so much about attention or financial success. Developing and maintaining your own bespoke game engine is a LOT of ongoing work, and CDPR made the decision after CP2077 that they were done with REDEngine, and are migrating all future work to Unreal 5. Based on their comments it sounds like they are working with Epic and it will probably be fairly customized fork of UE5 to ensure it has some of the features of REDEngine 2.0 they want to preserve, but bottom line is that for the next while all their games will be coming via Unreal.
They've put most resources on Orion but you'd think the could afford to throw 2 or 3 modders on a project to build official updates that flesh out the city and add more activities, keeping the community alive until the sequel.
3:52 If you explore the lore of Cyberpunk Red, you'll know that Night City is a Terminus for the Transcontinental Maglev high speed train. Lore deviates in 2077 as the area "being built" where you do the Aldecaldo's ending is the underground station for said Maglev. That station is supposed to exist already. That NCART track would have connected the City with the Maglev station.
I know they're gonna be working on the sequel to 2077, and that’s great, but I’d be totally happy with them just releasing Phantom Liberty quality DLC’s for this one instead. Like, do a DLC building up all that space you’re talking about here. One of the things I loved so much about Phantom Liberty was that I got to see an area that was clearly unfinished, presented to us as it always should have been. Even before the DLC’s release, Pacifica’s skyline was transformed by the 2.0 patch. Maybe I just wish they’d release a patch that would do for the other areas of the map, what 2.0 did for Pacifica. We know there wont be any more DLC but at least make the environment look more amazing. That would go a long way toward making the edges of the explorable areas feel more real I think. Anyway. Great video. Thanks.
I like to think that while the pre-release showed that it was going to be ther originally it was actually showing a grand expansion that Night City was planning to build that just died out, there's plenty of places just outside of Night City that either got started for a bit but were eventually fully abandoned (the dead town V and Panam set up that ambush being one) or were only somewhat set up before being dropped (the train section where you bring that train back from the dead just to snag a tank) because it fits the shrinking that Night City has done prior to V getting there.
Idk if you have already. But how about Noclipping around Johnny's flashbacks? Seeing what's changed in 2023 would be neet. Or hell. Exploring night city in 2079 in that ending.
@@FrankByDaylight I've flown around in it, it's the same city. Kind of disappointing but it didn't bother me as I kind of saw it as there being a merging of V and Johnny's memories
I think you’re right, from a design point of view the NCART would almost certainly hug the ridgeline, you can essentially see the silhouette of where would have been. That said, it probably wouldn’t divert around the casino, but again, it would likely rejoin the other tracks due south of the storm canal, in the freight-yard where V is introduced to Panam.
I love those parts of North Oak, Because it reminds me of the place I used to live in, A fairly rural hillside town near a city where you can see the cityscape lights at night. Plus the area has a lot of Syd Mead's design similar to that of The Film Elysium. I loved his art. Sad that this area was cut. Outside of Japantown and City center? North Oak, especially at night is the best places to do a scenic drive in NC.
Imagine what Cyberpunk would have been if they didn't opped out for the old console versions, who ate up a lot of time as we know now. It's a shame to see such opportunities left out. Happens with many games but it is even more sad for Cyberpunk, in my eyes. The Casino would have been amazing. I wish they will include these places, same goes with the Crystal palace and the Moon. I hope so much they include these in the Sequel. Oh and i think the Casino stuff in the DLC was reused stuff made for said Casino.

@@KleinMeme they already cut content in 2014, because they just couldnt match their vision due to the size of it. Nothing to do with the then brand new consoles and believe me they werent thinking about raytracing back then either. What needs to happen in Orion with the implementation of UE5: -Increased verticality and playability of all Megabuildings, Militech and Arasaka HQ’s. -Expansion of North Oak area and Casino -Expansion of Oil fields and industrial district - Expansion of Biotechnica Flats -More points of interest in the badlands, particularly towards the South Border. Also around the dam and Laguna Bend -Slightly more detail in places like North Pacifica and Arasaka Wayerfront.
The Ncart tunnel is pointing towards the "nomad end game area", the Arasaka underground facilities. Wonder if it could have been an early draft of an alternative escape/entry route for the facility? Or just placed there to be used by the employees of the facilities to enter and exit, maybe used by V in some early storydraft/side mission?
Yeah. And while new dlcs are not happening, I'm just hoping for them to open up the engine a bit more so modders can have easier time to add new content to the game. As they are moving on to Unreal Engine and Red Engine is obsolete for them, it would cause minimal harm to CDPR. Maybe... :D
@@PeferG17 A large part of the reason for that is it isn't meant to be modular, and patches break everything. If they stop patching and you had a lot of talented modders unify in one megaproject, there is the possibility of something good coming out of it. I'm skeptical though both because of the history of megaprojects (look at the ones for TES Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, etc, they almost never come to fruition), and because the history of mods for Red Engine games even once finished have also been anemic.
@@zeriel9148 yeah that's totally fair the problem with mega packs is there's usually too many moving parts for an unpaid team to make it reliable. Yeah red engine is never been great in the modding space unfortunately :(
I never knew there were so much cut content. I wish they continue working on this. I really love the World of Night City. I wish they kept working on it.
Its bizarre to know about all of this cut content. What we got was already a shitload of it, it took me about 100 hours to do every side quest and gig in the game, imagine how much more we'd have if they actually had time and resources to add these cut sections of the map.
it would honestly be insane, dare I say, on par with something like Red Dead Redemption 2. Remember when CDPR said it would be more detailed that RDR2? aha... the pain
2:30 Looks like they were trying to get the highway to match up with the one to city center but the ramp to it didn't fit. So they cut it out, Used the shape as a preform for NCart track, Didn't remove the road section.
I truly believe after initially cutting it, they planned to upgrade that area in a DLC (back when they had two dlcs in the works) and then the release happens yada yada yada they cut that down to only one DLC (phantom liberty and filling out Pacifica) well I guarantee you Westbrook was going to probably be the original first DLC and it expanded the city a bit (hearts of Stone style) and then phantom liberty was gonna be the second with its own little “mini city” combat zone (dogtown). But they cut the Casino one to more fast track to the second cyberpunk game.
Despite Cyberpunk 2077 getting 3 years of work, despite the 2.0, Despite Phantom Liberty. It will always, always have that looming shadow over it. The "What could have been". Engine limitation, CDPR Bosses, Unreasonable deadlines, overworking, scrapping, etc. Reality check, but man, What could have been and what never will.
I think the biggest problem with the game to this day is the main story! I have nothing against Reeves, but the story shouldn't have centred around Johnny! I wonder if that's why content like North Oak got cut. If the game underwent a radical direction change which has been strongly rumoured, with yanno higher ups even leaving CDPR over creative differences. Changing the game to first person instead of third, they'd have had to heavily rework mechanics. It all adds up to why there's so much cut and why the game also launched in the state it did. If they had to start effectively from scratch fairly late in Development.
As a novice game designer I'm pretty sure I could lay down some pretty good explinations for quite a lot of these "were to be" parts of the game. A lot of it just comes down to time and payoff essentially but there have been executive decision making in every single one of those examples. Pretty cool to play around with though.
Tbf there are a lot of games where the devs cut out big portions of its maps. Like that one entire Jungle Book World that was fully modelled and partially even scripted for Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.
Makes sense to keep using Night City in the next game. Set it a few decades later, update parts of the neighbourhoods, further bump the graphics, have more indoor spots and invest in mechanics that make the world feel more alive.
If you look up the physical map of Night City that CDPR included in the physical collectors edition you can clearly see that charter hill was substantially bigger and north oak actually had more big estates. Kerry, Denny, and tree he Arasaka compound actually had neighbors. In my opinion they got to at least the very beginning of building out north before scrapping it and replacing it with barren hills. Like, there are recessed lights in the ground like you'd see illuminating paths inside of an estate. There are other weird little details you can find around north oak that suggest there were more residences in the hills.
That NCART looking track might be connected to the tunnel boring infrastructure that's seen in one of the endings and referenced throughout the lore. Where the track dissappears into the rocky hillside seems to line up with the trajectory of the magrail tunnels. And there's service train tracks running throughout Northside, so perhaps the city had plans to link up the industrial trains with the magrail project to more easily ferry industrial goods from outside the city into the NID and beyond.
That area was part of Beaverville, the Corporate District of Night City in the Time of the Red. They could have built it, but there wouldn't have been much of a purpose beyond having empty area to run around in. It would have looked almost the same as Rancho Coronado, mid-level overcrowded suburbs. The beaverville area could have been interesting for some missions, but I see why they just didn't get around to it. The city center area and Oak Hills are where all the action is happening in 2077.
i actually like this , its almost like teasing what the next update will be and how much there will be based on the unfinished construction site across the map , like i thought the construction site in gta 5 would eventually be completed to link up to the next DLC , that would be such a unique way of showing upcoming new content or for example like billboards showing like a car that will be releasing or a contruction that will be completed on a specific date that shows new Content that will be added that gives the game more character making it feel like the city is alive and ever growing ...
A good reason for keep Night City for the next games setting, they can have it set several years later and show how much Night City has grown over time.
It's probably being kept back as a dlc. When you finish the kerry boat mission if you go to go down that road it says theres nothing here for you "Yet". They will probably release the DLC mid through this year and maybe ad a few things in between to keep people playing. They know GTA 6 is dropping next year so there going to want to squeeze it in as soon as Rockstar announced they would be realising GTA next year they immediately added more immersion.
It's safe to assume that a big reason why they're blocking off this content with construction equipment rather than completely blocking it off is that the devs get to build upon the pre-existing map for the sequel, and the in-universe explanation for the map expansion is that construction is complete. I wouldn't be surprised to see a time-skip as well...3-5 years would be ideal...but it could be as much at 10...which would allow Night City to be expanded, but still feel like the same place...and have some of the same NPCs and characters show up again. It certainly would be fun to not just have the city become larger, but also to increase the amount of accessible buildings and functional locations.
In Downtown there is a city block where a couple of floors up there is a huge yellow Neon sign telling you to stay away. If you manage to get up there, you can see that there is an entire are suspended in the building, complete with a car parking lot and a sealed off club entrance. The name of this club is relevant in the lore, but I dont remember the name of it.
It seems like the highway with the walkway and building that were under construction wasn’t actually cut content and was just stuff that was going to be added into the 2.1 update or maybe it was cut content but they decided to add it into the game.
I am testing a summary bot. I would greatly appreciate if any feedback on how well it works. Here are the summaries for this video: * The video explores the cut content of Cyberpunk 2077's Night City district, which was supposed to be bigger but was eventually cut due to hardware limitations and deadlines. * The video showcases the barrenness of the right section of the map, which includes the Cyberpunk Hills. * The video highlights the unused and unfinished content in the area, such as the En cart station and the abandoned Casino. * The video also shows the unused and untouched walkways and buildings in the area, which were supposed to give heightened verticality to Night City. * The video suggests that the casino was supposed to be a big part of the map and gives off a similar energy to Pacifica before the Phantom Liberty DLC.
I hope that Cyberpunk 2 is also in Nightcity and that they can finish all these areas and everything cthat they didn't get to in this game. Im just glad they got the spaceport done in PL.
This game keeps breaking my heart. People keep talking about how it’s all “fixed” now, but they’ll rarely if ever acknowledge the fact that this game feels so condensed. The cut content like the NCART and the casino will always be a sore spot for me.
u can actually get there without mods or anything. theres a ncpd thing and at somepoint during it a helicopter or smt comes up and u can enter it suprisingly idk why also its really glitchy but it will fly to that place and if u leave the helicopter thing at a right time u get there somehow. also u can go stand on top of the helicopter thing n stay there but whencthe invisible barrier comes up u fall i accidentally did this i didint think u could actually enter it but u can for somereason
I remember playing cyberpunk before the Dogtown expansion came out. I remember going by the “new entrance” and seeing two girls there trying to get inside. If you stood next to them they have a conversation about what’s going on in there and it went something like this. “What you think is happening in there” “I’m not sure but some one told me it’s like a hudge arena where cyberphyscos fights” It made me always wanna explore the parts of the city even when i zoomed it seemed like such a hudge part of the game was missing.. sadly idk if there going to add this part of the map I heard there on the next game already
Well, if they did decide to cut that area, I'd say they're leaning heavily on teasing a continued area for new content. I bet another DLC or an area that will be there in a Cyberpunk sequel (hopefully). With the construction of the buildings on the edge, and the construction on the tunnel. It would show that the city is being expanded. So possibly a casino and rich city neighborhood area will spring up in future content. That's keeping hopes high, maybe it is just missed opportunity.
When I first saw how Phantom Liberty expanded an unused corner of the city with dog town I wrongfully assumed the other unused corners of night city like the Arasaka waterfront, the casino in the mountains, even the corpo megabuildings, all could be potential spots for another DLC to expand in. Now I realize it’s all empty, and it’ll be empty forever.
East outside of the map from the rail tunnel there is an unused (but prepared for a mission) militech construction site and you can find a computer there talking about some kind of rail system - probably a cut main/side mission? No idea
A part of me wish that cdpr just keep working on this game and release more expansions once every year or so.. just looking at all the cut contents in this game makes me wonder what could’ve been
Or if it was at least possible to mod the map. The bottom of the atrium in V's first apartment is very detailed and even has loot spawning down there but they blocked the area off. The elevator doesn't work and they put lots of death walls to prevent us from slowly jumping down there. The exploration aspect could be so much more if we could mod that in.
My guess with the highway under the tracks is that it possibly was going to be a station at one point, but at the same time that's just cause of the way it's shaped and the fact that it is right up next to a building
my thoughts exactly, many similar locations that have these converted buildings. I always think about how these interiors would have looked... oh god it hurts lmao
You know it's really depressing I was waiting for this game for a decade and you know to be fair a lot didn't like 1.0 but I have 500 hours in the game since 1.0 and whenever I play it I get this sense of warmth kind of hard to explain but it's kind of like that nice nostalgic feeling you get that's warming anyway it is sad to see the limitations of the REDengine but at the same time I am happy for what we have got regardless and hope in the next decade cyberpunk orion will have all the ambition the first had.
The sheer amount of evidence of cut content in the game is truly staggering. The game as it stands really is a shell of what they originally intended it to be.
To be honest, the lack of casino dondent bother me as much as there being a total of 3 residences In north all of which have cannon owners and two of them being in the same band from 50 years ago,
I think they had plans for more than 1 expansion ( as they stated very early that cyberpunk will have as much post release content as witcher 3) but they took 3 extra years after release to fix the game and in order to keep with their release schedule they cut all other content which is likely going to end up added to Orion.
will the sequel "Orion" be in Night City again? I don't know. I don't think this will be possible. but the cut content of that large section with the casino will probably be used in the future game. Orion will definitely have two cities. one will be on earth, and the second might be on the moon.
I feel like there was an opportunity for a whole new subset of silly quests. The hyper-rich would have some of the most random things they'd 'need'. Remember that quest where you drive Ozob to Pacifica? Yeah, stuff like that. One cool potential to me would be having a third quest with Jackie and T-bug, between Sandra Dorsett and Konpeki Plaza. Pulling off a small-stakes casino heist could be the way you get noticed by Dexter Deshawn and be welcomed into Afterlife. It would make losing your team all the more painful and have you truly suffer the effects of being a solo.
Once the game stops being updated(aka no more patches), dedicated modders who adore the game will eventually start working on overhaul level mods. The map is huge, there are so much untapped potential with the barren mudflats out of bounds that could be turned into something. Check back in a few years and there'll probably be everything from distract being playable, Militech building, full underground train services, etc.
5:22 haha i was in those walk ways the other day actually entered from that tower on the hills side it was empty af but this is what happens when development is rushed and area desingers just add Filler assets
if CDPR is working on a sequel and still in Night City, this should really help the ground work and let them realise the vision of the Casino and "Hollywood Hills" type of areas. I've got pretty hyped watching the game intro of "Welcome to Night City" and seeing a gold chromed out celebrity on fashion runway and AV pads all that. Hell, even wondered if we as the player will ever get on the live TV shows.
i think that road bridge/track thing is there as a small piece of lore about night city's planning, like, they thought they were going to build some more roads there but instead it got converted to an NCART track
A lot of these things you talk about I never knew about, so it's cool to see. Maybe that track part is just for decor now, seeing as it has weird bits and bobs around the corner turn? The tiny buildings are likely for decor to look at from a distance or to show construction? That walk way is a huge shame though. Would have loved to use it! I would have LOVED to see a casino. We get a small taste of it in the new DLC, but that's it. I hope they add it in the future, as well as drivable flying cars! The fact that the models for the buildings are still there tells me maybe it'll be added in the future? Why else would they keep it in?
Theres something profoundly entertaining about a british guy talkin about cut content. I think back to your "No Tell Motel" video when regina calls you and i crack up
That NCART track could be the one that comes back to Night City where the GTA 'follow the damn train' easter egg is. I'm running off memory, but I'm pretty sure that is over that side somewhere. Near Joss's place I think. Hopefully with the move to Unreal the devs don't have as many issues and can get things done quicker so that we don't have empty/unfinished areas of the map. I would love the next game to almost be an alternative reality where the city was finished and things like the NCART and trains work and all these areas are used for something. Seems like they had a lot of plans that were cut part way through production. It would be awesome to see them come to fruition.
Did you know that inside the Militech building is cut content. There are actually hallways and rooms. You should do a video on that.
What Militech building? That sounds really cool
The one in Corpo Plaza. Also the Metal store near that.@@masterkiloren99
Downtown, corpo center. Across from thr arasaka hq
eh, i Would not call it a cut content.
Why don't you
It's such a shame we didn't get a Beverley Hills type of residential area to explain were all of Night City's rich and famous lived, a place to put the high end cars, high rolling NPC's and the posh shops.
absolutely, we only really get that with some of the corpo plazas, but even that is a completely different kind of wealth
we did, but apparently the only rich people are the members of samurai and the executive of arasaka, what a coincidence
Kerry is the only rich person in night city
Hopefully a mod in the coming times can make it accessible and explorable
probably be in the sequel. Cause at that point, a mod of that scale would come out by the time we hear anything from the official sequel lol
Well tbh the “rich” are either street kids or corpos so there wouldn’t even be much of a difference tbh
uh no lol, musicians, sport stars, etc are part of that. Corpo's are their own different type of rich. Example. Kerry is rich and isn't a corpo@@EnvysWRLD
@@EnvysWRLD i couldn't think of the exact word I was trying to portray but I think you get what I meant, there were 4 types of concept arts describing people of night city, I'm talking about the one which says "Style and Substance" we can see the casino behind. So maybe we had another lifepath possibly? And the casino would've been strongly linked to that
@@emmanuelobodozie713he is definitely a corpo, just that he's rich enough to not wear their colors
I agree, I've been playing this game since day 1 and I'm still finding places I've never visited before.
And finding so many little easter eggs everywhere, like theres a GTA SA Wrong Side of the Tracks Easter Egg by a Train Tunnel!
I'm on my 5th playthrough and I just found a new basement in a shack out in the badlands. I've looted it before but missed the stairs downward.
They’d save a ton of time on building an entire new city from scratch and can focus on the outskirts plus more interior environments in the main city.
umm we are definitely NOT gonna be in night city in the next game 💀
@@tigrispanthera5496 why not? Base lore takes place here. It won't be a bad idea to expand upon the existing, maybe even throw a few more locations like the witcher 3

Part of me wishes they'd keep developing this game for the next decade.
but who knows, maybe with a fresh start on Orion they could get even more in
I would buy any expansion or dlc they bring out in hopes that they restore all the cut content
If the game didn’t launch all bugged they probably would’ve added so much to the game (probably make the map 20-25% bigger and add tons of more things)
I’m very excited about their next game because Cyberpunk 2077 has turned out to be one of the best RPG/open world games of all time.
part of me knows they would only be finishing the game for the next decade instead of developing it
I honestly hope for Project Orion, that they take Night City and use the development time to use the rest of the map and expand on things already there, more internal buildings, more NPC’s, more things to do.

The casino was intended for multiplayer mode.

Nah they should make it in sugen
It should be night city 2080 militech takeover and there a maglev to chicago😅
I’m so glad they’re making a sequel to this game.
They have the second half of the map already created.
The hills was probably suppose to be the "hollywood" area.
Nice video. Thanks for keeping up with the cut content and changes in NC.
Knowing what could have been and not focusing on what we got, isn’t always good.
@@drnafari0us962not to be negative but seeing the recent layoffs, the fact they’re switching engines and the upper management leaving i don’t think that’s a good sign for w4 and cp2
@@drnafari0us962Can you please enumerate this "what could have beens" and promises along with the source? They didn't promise anything specific about the map. The biggest things that they didn't gave us are the wall running and trains. But I don't remember them promising the casino. Seriously some of you all are just making things up with all these "promises" that they made
@@euclid4703 That's aftermath of pandemic, world economic recession, terrible release (not financial) and focusing on updates and Phantom Liberty.
I can't fathom the levels of cringe having the next V be a french dude or even worse British or polish.
and let's not mention crystal palace dlc that would have been epic!
I’m still pissed that they promised free DLCs and then just simply didn’t provide them
i yearn for the cyberpunk we never got, without half the game absolutely missing
i love the game we got now but man... to think it could've been so much better. if things turned out differently, cyberpunk could've been like an all time top 5 game. hearing about all this cut content just makes me sad man.
I wish they'd add in a DLC to add this area back in as well as a casino plotline
This game has so much content it's kind've insane to think they wanted to add more.
Came here after watching the 2.1 update announcement -- the sky train system is coming! Those tracks were not abandoned after all.
true
I hope they realize that they got some good attention with phantom Liberty and pick up the project again and not to mention that there is also a bunch of buildings and props 90% done like that Militeck buildings and train system that runs around the city, heck in the first trailers V can clearly be seen riding it
If anything they'll make a unreal 5 port
@@CursedMoistMan690 easier said than done lol.
@labomemnumbazerozeroyon7085 yeah, porting a map/models is a piece of cake, but coding the entire game again would be a pain
I want a fully developed Night City, then more city around the world and then Hive City and the Moon base, possibly Mars base as well
3:52 If you explore the lore of Cyberpunk Red, you'll know that Night City is a Terminus for the Transcontinental Maglev high speed train.
Thanks.
You were the main one pushing them to release the game sooner
I like to think that while the pre-release showed that it was going to be ther originally it was actually showing a grand expansion that Night City was planning to build that just died out, there's plenty of places just outside of Night City that either got started for a bit but were eventually fully abandoned (the dead town V and Panam set up that ambush being one) or were only somewhat set up before being dropped (the train section where you bring that train back from the dead just to snag a tank) because it fits the shrinking that Night City has done prior to V getting there.
0:22 why couldn’t they do a Pacifica situation where the casino is t even finished yet and then release it in the next game?
Hopefully they do with Orion
I love your videos because you are basically saving me time from the exploring I have already had planned.
Idk if you have already. But how about Noclipping around Johnny's flashbacks? Seeing what's changed in 2023 would be neet. Or hell. Exploring night city in 2079 in that ending.
Oh wow this is a great idea… will have to work out the logistics of it but yes absolutely. Stay tuned and thank you :)
It's the same minus a few different signs. It sucks
@@SirMZK awesome!!!!
@@chrispekel5709 We'll see, We'll see.
If I'm not wrong, they were hyping up the casino with concept arts of it in night city wire just a couple months before release
Oh and i think the Casino stuff in the DLC was reused stuff made for said Casino.
this isnt the reason they cut content, you are delusional
@@cooltwittertag What reason of cut content you are speaking of? Not sure what your interpretation of my wording here is exactly.
And thanks for your opinion on my state of mind, noted.
@@KleinMeme they already cut content in 2014, because they just couldnt match their vision due to the size of it. Nothing to do with the then brand new consoles and believe me they werent thinking about raytracing back then either. A lot of cuts happened very early on due to a disconnect in scope of what the writers envisioned and what cdpr saw as possible with its team at the time.
What needs to happen in Orion with the implementation of UE5:
-Increased verticality and playability of all Megabuildings, Militech and Arasaka HQ’s.
-Expansion of North Oak area and Casino
-Expansion of Oil fields and industrial district
- Expansion of Biotechnica Flats
-More points of interest in the badlands, particularly towards the South Border. Also around the dam and Laguna Bend
-Slightly more detail in places like North Pacifica and Arasaka Wayerfront.
I mean it's still a hell of a game, especially after 2.0, but I do wish they would do more than one DLC
Yeah. And while new dlcs are not happening, I'm just hoping for them to open up the engine a bit more so modders can have easier time to add new content to the game. As they are moving on to Unreal Engine and Red Engine is obsolete for them, it would cause minimal harm to CDPR. Maybe... :D
@@MrReivn yeah that would be awesome the only downside is red engine just really isn't great with modders most of the time
@@PeferG17 A large part of the reason for that is it isn't meant to be modular, and patches break everything.
This makes me sad, especially knowing now that they don't have people working on Cyberpunk anymore and they have moved on to the new cyberpunk game which I think is going to be a prequel?
Hopefully someone makes mod and finishes Casino area
Impossible
Sadly, that's pretty much certain to not ever happen. Cyberpunk modding is unreasonably difficult.
I think that phantom liberty improves the main story a lot
As a novice game designer I'm pretty sure I could lay down some pretty good explinations for quite a lot of these "were to be" parts of the game. A lot of it just comes down to time and payoff essentially but there have been executive decision making in every single one of those examples. Pretty cool to play around with though.
That whole little place of the map is proof that cyber punk 2077 is far from complete...
Tbf there are a lot of games where the devs cut out big portions of its maps. Like that one entire Jungle Book World that was fully modelled and partially even scripted for Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.
@@twiphe4375 Yeah True...
But it's also rare for devs to completely abandon a game half done especially when it's one of the most popular games.
Makes sense to keep using Night City in the next game. Set it a few decades later, update parts of the neighbourhoods, further bump the graphics, have more indoor spots and invest in mechanics that make the world feel more alive.
What a massive game and world we have lost 😔
Wydm ?
What camera mod do you use? I would like to download it and use it too. In game camera sux. Thanks for the vids!
A good reason for keep Night City for the next games setting, they can have it set several years later and show how much Night City has grown over time.
another good reason is that cyberpunk is based on the ttrpg books which are and have always been set exclusively in night city.
Here are the summaries for this video:
* The video explores the cut content of Cyberpunk 2077's Night City district, which was supposed to be bigger but was eventually cut due to hardware limitations and deadlines.
The cut content like the NCART and the casino will always be a sore spot for me.
u can actually get there without mods or anything. theres a ncpd thing and at somepoint during it a helicopter or smt comes up and u can enter it suprisingly idk why also its really glitchy but it will fly to that place and if u leave the helicopter thing at a right time u get there somehow. also u can go stand on top of the helicopter thing n stay there but whencthe invisible barrier comes up u fall
i accidentally did this i didint think u could actually enter it but u can for somereason
I remember playing cyberpunk before the Dogtown expansion came out. I remember going by the “new entrance” and seeing two girls there trying to get inside. If you stood next to them they have a conversation about what’s going on in there and it went something like this.
“What you think is happening in there”
“I’m not sure but some one told me it’s like a hudge arena where cyberphyscos fights”
It made me always wanna explore the parts of the city even when i zoomed it seemed like such a hudge part of the game was missing.. sadly idk if there going to add this part of the map I heard there on the next game already
It’s sad to see how much in reality was cut. I wish they just kept working on the game and released this year. It really sucks :(
When I first saw how Phantom Liberty expanded an unused corner of the city with dog town I wrongfully assumed the other unused corners of night city like the Arasaka waterfront, the casino in the mountains, even the corpo megabuildings, all could be potential spots for another DLC to expand in. Now I realize it’s all empty, and it’ll be empty forever.
East outside of the map from the rail tunnel there is an unused (but prepared for a mission) militech construction site and you can find a computer there talking about some kind of rail system - probably a cut main/side mission? No idea
4:39 you can even see it on the left bottom corner of the screen, the little black building/station
Imagine if they released the source code smh… if y’all can’t finish the game let at least players do it
My guess with the highway under the tracks is that it possibly was going to be a station at one point, but at the same time that's just cause of the way it's shaped and the fact that it is right up next to a building
my thoughts exactly, many similar locations that have these converted buildings.
We need the source code for that tho…
5:22 haha i was in those walk ways the other day actually entered from that tower on the hills side it was empty af but this is what happens when development is rushed and area desingers just add Filler assets
if CDPR is working on a sequel and still in Night City, this should really help the ground work and let them realise the vision of the Casino and "Hollywood Hills" type of areas. I've got pretty hyped watching the game intro of "Welcome to Night City" and seeing a gold chromed out celebrity on fashion runway and AV pads all that. Hell, even wondered if we as the player will ever get on the live TV shows.
Im pretty sure the next gsme is going to take plave on an expanded version of the existing map. A lot of unused spaces that will be main areas.
The amount of cut content in this game is blueballing me SO FUCKING HARD AAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHH
i think that road bridge/track thing is there as a small piece of lore about night city's planning, like, they thought they were going to build some more roads there but instead it got converted to an NCART track
I think back to your "No Tell Motel" video when regina calls you and i crack up
"Awwww Regina man I don't care I just actually don't care"
Ncart track goes over to that random building above where the casino is. Theres proof there. Apparently its part of an ending but havemt got there yet
