Le Régiment de Sambre et Meuse ! Marchait toujours aux cris de "Liberté" ! Cherchant la route glorieuse ! Qui l'a conduit à l'Immortalité ! I am French
It was in all armies. It happened in the Us army up until recently when it got banned. One example was getting your stripes in the Marine Corps. When you become an officer, you get stripes on your pants. You would walk down a hallway and all of the other officers would punch you in the legs on the stripes as a sort of commemoration.
As a French who loves this era of the second empire, I think that this march is a very good choice for representing the French faction. Good work and keep it up !
@@Sirius1914 Napoleon Bonaparte wasn't that bad. He was far from a tyran. Ofc he wasn't perfect but he did so much for the French people. "Le code civil" for exemple is one of these changes. Napoleon Bonaparte made a lot in a very small amount of time, deying his contribution to the French history is foolish and unfair. A lot of Napoleon ideas are still relevant to this day. Sadly a lot of people want to discredit him even in France, we should not worship him but we must atleast acknoledge the fact that he was a great leader and he saved the French republic ideals against incredible odds.
Adding on, the russians and the french have their eyes - "perhaps the most human part of the face" someone in prussia's theme's comments - visible, while the germans have them covered.
Also to note, the the russians have blood running down their face and seem to be more injured than the french, with the bagguete-lovers seemingly only having a scar and a bruise and some sparks of blood. This can be noted by historical events that happened in real life. Prussia beat the french in the Franco-Prussian war, although only taking Alsace-Lorraine and occupying the nation for some time. Although it wasnt an absolutely devastating conflict, it *left a scar* on France's reputation and strenght. Meanwhile the russians, in WW1 they were beaten heavily and lost a ton of territory to the germans, but in less than 30 years they would be able to recover most of it, without much of a scar, as seen by today's POV that the russians beat the germans to Berlin, with the defeat only being a temporary slowdown. Meanwhile with the french, they are made fun of all the time for loosing to germany in the Franco-Prussian war and surrendering so fast in WW2.
@@martinb.3997 I thihnk you're probably looking too much into it. its probably a change in the design style. Don't worry. Each faction has a main soundtrack : le régiment de sambre et meuse for France. But there will be a victory and a defeat march for each country, as well as several other marches per country (maybe in DLC). For France, La Victoire est à nous as a victory march, La Strasbourgeoise as a defeat march and Vous N'aurez Pas l'Alsace et la Lorraine, Le Boudin and Marche Lorraine as DLC marches. For the North German Confederation, the Konnigratzer will be a DLC march. Hohenfriedberger marsch as a victory march and Ich hatt einen kameraden as a defeat march.
