Thank you for the video! But I have to change the frame that you can see at 7:57; after I remove the old one, to put the new one, do I need an adhesive tape or does it get stuck without nothing? Thank you in advance.
Hi, you're welcome. Yes you would need new adhesive tape but if I am not mistaken, replacements should come with the adhesive pre installed. I could be wrong though.
yeah seriously, i wonder if the screen can be replaced without removing the back glass? hard to tell since he removed everything before the screen came out
no because you still need to disconnect the cable that is attached to the main board. So you would need to take at least the bottom portion glass off to disconnect the battery cable, remove the speaker assembly and then disconnect the screen cable.
Yea wont be easy at all. Probably the Razr, because of the fact the outer boarder that covers the Z flip screen is flimsy and hard to adhere back to the frame with adhesive so without actual pre-cut adhesive that is made for the phone, would be hard to put it back on.
Wow very impressed with this teardown!! I was so surprised to see it turn on at the end! kinda wanted to see you bend the screen in half and see if it would break... it probably would have... but, if it didnt, that would be amazing!!! :D
Thanks, yea I didn't because I knew it might break, it was more firm and had less flex than the razr screen I tried to bend on our teardown since the z flip uses a bendable glass screen compared to the plastic screen of the razr.
This phone is miles ahead of the new Razr design wise. Not practical for 98% of us due to the price but still a step in the right direction and Sammy even spent the time and effort on the I ternals we'll (mostly) never see anyhow. Not gonna lie.. Would love to see one of these in the wild but I work around dust so I'd be scared having this expensive thing outside of my house.
@@Exotic4M3 Yea, well, don't mess up then...😳, but frankly, from the video above, it looks like that the repairability score is about 6/10 for me where 1 is the easiest and 10 is the most difficult one.

I damaged the screen when I took apart my Flip to get dust out of the hinges. Do you know if there is an online source to buy just the screen? I also need the small screen on the cover if you know a source for that as well. Great video. Thanks!
Hi, on ebay you can search for galaxy z flip lcd and you will see some listings for the outer screen and I saw some for the inner but the inner screen seems to be very pricey. You can contact samsung for a repair should probably run much cheaper for the inner screen.
It would be possible, the screws can be removed and taken apart, but I didn't want to pull the hinge apart into pieces because most likely will not operate the same when put back together and I am planning on using the phone for a bit so yep :)
Apparently, the UTG manufacturer in Korea (they call it UFG because they purposely made the glass thicker than UTG for durability) can still only churn out 100k units a month. So we can probably expect the phones to sell out over and over for a while.
That is one of the reasons amongst a few a rep from the company said it will be three years until other manufacturers can catch up to them. Huawei are pros at stealing technology, but there is nothing here other manufacturers can't do except UTG. I'm curious to see if the three years holds up. Until then Mate X, Moto Z and possibly the Surface phone are all dead.

I prefer to use a hair dryer, it provides even distribution of heat and less likely to damage anything. Just move it around until its hot enough to the touch and you can always apply more heat as needed.
You will have to buy the top glass with the small screen unfortunately. I tried to transfer the small display using heat and careful prying but one of the layers of the display is completely adhered to the glass which makes it impossible to remove. Ended up not working anymore and had to buy a new glass with the small screen :(
@@tealckree1240 Battery is not bad rbh. I find myself plugging my phone in at the end of the day. I feel even tho it's only 3300, when folded it takes almost no battery. After 2 full days of use im extremely impressed
Maybe, but the peel off bezel on the outside of the screen seems very cheap and I feel it would easily peel off over time. I also prefer the razr look compared to this, however this phones design internally for being able to replace parts as well as the specs are better. If only they actually put a larger display on the outside, not sure why they went for such a small one, they could have easily put a larger screen.
@@PBKreviews maybe the idea of secondary display outside they saving for galaxy fold 2. Its marketing strategy. If they make 1 perfect phone, then people will not buy other series. So they purposely make every single model series have different advantages and disadvantages.
