      How are they doing?
      I've now been using tulle for EVERYTHING lol i tie trellis pieces (sticks or skewers) together, to tie stems to stakes, as netting to protect...it has been the best piece of advice she has given me and that is saying alot considering i use so much of her wisdom since this is my first year gardening. Hummingbirds drew me in but her knowledge and how she shares it has kept me here haha i am stsrting my garlic today.

    Awesome video once again, though I am just confused on a few things. Aren't paper towels "bleached" and could be harmful to the plants? Also, I saw on another video that root crops needs to be in poorer compost mixes so they don't just go to seeds? Would love to have clarifications on these matters!

    This is a great method. I followed your way of sprouting and have planted out about 20 cloves. So can you include information on where to locate the planted cloves while growing? In full sun? Part shade? How much water? I notice some of my garlic leaves wilting in the hot sun even though they’re well watered and not dry or water logged either.

      Look at the type of garlic you have. There are 2 varieties: hard neck and soft neck garlic.
      Hard neck varieties are more suited to cold climates. Soft neck varieties are suitable for hot climates.
      Search the internet for: "Stratification of garlic".

      They grow here better before the weather gets really hot, and then they die back, which is normal, most pull them out, I left many which may come back as the weather cools later.

    I've been planting organic garlic from the store for about 4 years, and then save some of my cloves to plant the next year. I started with about 30 garlic plants and now I plant about 100. Next year I want to plant about 200. Being in zone 7 I plant my garlic in the ground around Thanksgiving and then harvest in July. I may try your method around April and see when I can harvest. What kind of chick was that in your lettuce?

      Garlic prefers to have the early time in cool weather and then it starts to produce a large bulb. Being that you’re not gonna wait now, you can go ahead and plant it in anything you want even a flower pot, and if they don’t grow big bulbs you can always use the greens, my daughter loves the greens better than the actual garlic bulb so the we at times.

    • @Nikki-mx5my
      @Nikki-mx5my 3 года назад

      Yes, that is right. Most of the garlic you buy from the grocery store is soft neck garlic, which is grown in warmer climates and stores longer after curing. The hard neck varieties do not store as long which is why it’s more difficult to find (I have never seen hardneck garlic in the grocery store, only at my local farm stand). Hard neck varieties need a period of cold vernalization. I am pretty sure the soft necks want at least a little?
