I found a Bach Chorale Gesänge Buch and bought it right away. Early on I watched Gareth discuss these chorales and the book contains 389 songs. It doesn't use the same numbering system, but the titles are consistent, but there are many of the same titles in different keys. My piano teacher is impressed with my level of music theory knowledge, and it is because I have watched THE best music teacher on the internets.
Many thanks to Alex and Gareth for their labor of love. I'm sure I speak for hundreds of thousands of people wanting to improve their musical knowledge in saying, merci beaucoup.

The 'In the Mind of Bach' series is so good and this is another really helpful one - thank you. I'm doing the Bach Chorale course and they are complementary to each other.

Something interesting that makes Bach's embellishment much more effective is the fact that he uses imitation from the first two motifs (first bass compass) in the tenor's line, same idea in the harmonical and rhythmical parallel at the soprano's semiquaver beats in the end of the phrases, with the change from first inversion to tonic and the dissonance. It is about moviment for sure, but not only, it is about the architectural design of the whole structure, it is art.
Thank you for the analysis! I love 'Inside the Mind of Bach' series.

Wonderful analysis. The third measure of the "iced" version is remarkable.

Just be careful to not leave your musical cake out in the rain.
Btw, I'm doing Gareth's songwriting course on the music matters website and it is far and away more engaging and memory stamping than using books.
