Most keyboard have limited simultaneous input restriction, with smash box u could input every buttons at the same time
They're working on adapter that allows keyboards to work on switch

also one of the biggest positives of the smashbox to me is just build quality and consistency, seems like gamecube controllers can develop annoying problems with little use, like in my own experience and others I've merely heard of
I am using the same Gamecube controller that I have had since 06. How dare you call the build quality of GC controller into question. They are the most robust controller ever made (in my opinion) . This smash box thing has been barely out for two years so who the heck actually knows if it's build quality will have it last the test of time

I don't even play competitively and I break controllers.
Like, often times the small rubber on the left stick gets loose and falls off. Even though I don't even mash that hard.

I was never interested in this controller, but this video definitely convinced me to give it a shot if I ever get the chance!
Do keep in mind what ESAM says from 7:05 to 8:55. I bought a box controller and regret it, cause I don't really use characters that would play better on this and it's a massive commitment to learn. I highly recommend that you ask someone to lend it to you if possible so you can test it out before buying, or build a cheap DIY box first
ESAM can you make a video outlining a movement training regiment for general "movement things" you should be able to do consistently (like what you described with "attack cancel backward upair into dash attack", etc.)
Esam, after you explained this it made a lot of sense. I'm a player who sweats in their hands which has been a huge thing for me in tournaments. I have tried wearing gloves and training in gloves, fans, and wraps. If I just had this, I wouldn't have those issues. Every time I have messed up a recovery because my finger slips and I am pushing the core of my hand and the length of my thumb to aim in a 'guess' ... all of that could be fixed with this. -----off topic I wish there were an organization of pro players, developers, and media available to come together to turn Smash into an Olympic or professional sport. Then maybe we could see these cheaper and more accessible perhaps.
Accessibility is why open source controllers like Phob and OpenFrame1 are really important. It isn't good to have the production of reliable controllers in the hands of a few individuals and companies. Since anyone can access those two they can create their own implementations and try to bring the cost down and supply up

Look isto iontophoresis machines, especially official medically licensed ones, but you can also DIY a machine for really cheap.
I have pretty severe hyperhidrosis too. This really helped to treat it.

@imESAM What is the music in your outro? It sounds so cool and mysterious.
I prefer to use a Frame1, B0XX or LBX just for ease of use (although with the LBX you do have to download firmware, but the most common is to use one that mimics the B0XX). With the Smashbox you gotta adjust angles yourself for whatever character you plan to play. The Frame1, B0XX, and LBX have pre-programmed layouts that can accommodate most, if not all characters without needing more than two modifiers.
The Smash Box comes with default profiles that are designed for all characters within the game to use as well - there is not need to create your own profile.
@@HitBoxArcade yes I am aware. I own your controller too. The others are just more easy to use. Especially for games like Melee. You guys are fine for lesser known platform fighters that may not have a profiles on the other controllers as we can make our own. Otherwise the other controllers are generally better, and much more portable.

@@HitBoxArcade Anytime. If I had to make any recommendations I would say you guys should work on a slimmer model. Generally speaking people who are using box controllers are trying to have any competitive advantage they can. Giving people something easier to travel with would be a big first step.

As a ness player i love the smashbox because its made all the magnet tech easier than it has any right to be, I also hate the smashbox because its made my recovery harder than it has any right to be

Use what's most comfortable for you
I feel like controller is easier to learn and understand the game well, then box might be an option to take things to the next level. And I’m thinking controller because you’ll lean heavily on RUclips videos to learn about tech and how to do different things, and I’ve never seen any videos like that specific to box but maybe that doesn’t matter
Controller is easier to begin with, but it's easier to begin learning box without as much muscle memory on controller
I was thinking of using a hitbox for more traditional fighting games.
Hit box for traditional fighters is amazing
I got one for guilty gear and it's definitely better for your hands. No more thumb pain.

I think the box probably has a higher skill ceiling but I'm not sure how practical it is. The results haven't been there for Esam. I'm sure they will come though. I'm ready for his pika to be back top 8ing majors
It's definitely not an insta win but it can be an advantage in the more precision and consistency
You have to relearn everything. I've had my Smashbox for quite a while and there's _still_ stuff I struggle with.
as a new player on keyboard, I don't get why you can't make movement default to walking, and press the modifier to run, rather than only the opposite

I should get a controller kind of like this being primarily a PC gamer for most of my life. WASD feels a lot more natural to me. These things are just way too far out of my price range. There are arcade style sticks for far less but I have the same sort of issue with them that I have for a gamepad joystick. I suppose an arcade stick has more feedback though.

Advantages no carpal tunnel. One or two angle specific desyncs and other desyncs might become easier to do.

Not really compatible with switch, somebody is working on an adapter so u can remap it for better control but even then keyboard smash is weird because of the cluster of keys

not to be a hater, but legality on smashbox specifically will start to come in ult as it has on melee.
1. double up zip angles are banned in melee for pika melee. it will come for pika ult as well.
2. SOCD cleaning has to be mandatory. There is a reason why it is called CHEATBOX and SOCD is one of the key reasons why. First/last input priority shouldn't exist.
3. As a smashboxx player you should declare your angles and modifiers [there will be a set of angles that players can only use]. It will be most likely that you will have to run on default (only letting you have x1,x2, y1,y2 and the two modifiers as in Smashbox videos)
4. No extra profiles, you can only use 1 profile (it does not matter if you multi main, you can only have one profile, which likely will be default)
as i said not to be a hater, but if melee people are adamant of rectangles (and SMASHBOX specifically), then yeah this changes will likely take place, in ultimate.

Standard controller for ultimate would be the joycons, lol. Play on the controller you feel most comfortable with.
Some ppl like gcc, some people like procontroller some ppl even play wii mote still. Would be dumb to just have one style of controller as an option

I mostly meant stuff like notches, shortening trigger spring, and being able to perform perfect angles with a boxx because they dont have to use the stick.
@@snix2921 as a gcc modder, just ab everything aside from notches you can do yourself no problem. all my gcc’s are modded and maintained by myself. hell with a small amount of learning you can even do some arduino stuff with your gcc
@@snix2921notches should be fine as a mod for your controller, considering gcc already has them. Also shortening the trigger distance is super easy and unnoticeable. Smash tournaments don't have the means to mechanically inspect everyone's controller lol. TOs are probably already given too much to do.
