- Harm's Way vocalist James Pligge and guitarist Bo Lueders discuss straight edge, why they're still a straight edge band and how "Ease My Mind" is their more advanced way of looking at straight edge in their adult years. They also discuss the "people are of no value" clip used in "Breeding Grounds." It comes from 'The Adventures of Mark Twain' and fits with the song's message of hate for humanity. They explain that the clip's meaning is a double-edged sword; while Lueders always took it in a positive light, it can certainly be nihilistic. March 3, 2017.

As someone who isn’t straight edge, I still really appreciate this take
So i found this band through the running man meme. But holy shit. His views on dealing with problems head on and not using alcohol and drugs as an escape is exactly how i viewed it for so long. really interesting to see someone else with the same mindset.
That's what straight edge is. Look it up. Is kinda like a lifestyle very popular within the hardcore community in the 80s and 90s.
I was like no drugs and alcohol. And then I took an arrow to the knee.

Hell yeah. I think it's interesting when non-edgers hate on an edge band just for being edge. Edgers listen to plenty of music made by people who aren't even CLOSE to edge, so why can't it be the other way, you know? I love music made by folks from all walks of life!

I mean, its awesome that they’re able to combat substance abuse by denying it altogether, but I think life is too damned short to not let yourself enjoy it at least a little. It's not like taking them will make you look like Mr. Olympia. The ffmi study found it's highly unlikely to attain an ffmi above 25 while lean, but most fear users they studied had a fat free mass index of less than 25. Just look at Jon Jones. That said, I dont think he is large enough to say that he had to have used to be that big. He is massive, dont get me wrong, but he is also around 20% body fat, and you can carry a shot load of muscle that way, even naturally.

Dude has been working out for like 20 years. His total is less than 1600 lbs from everything I've read. He's got a great physique and good genetics. You want to see a combination of genes and steroids look at someone like Mateusz Kielezkowski. He's deadlifting 900 and setting world PR in the stone lift at 25 and getting on the podium at The Arnold. James Pligge is natty.
