Thanks so much dude. And ya, they're all great dudes. Glad to see them getting the success they deserve. Check out this picture from when they slept in my parents' basement the day after their Toronto show haha (more room than my own place, plus an hour onto their next show AND prepared breakfast): instagram.com/p/BT9lDbBDoLx/?taken-by=bradseed
I saw Gatedreeper last night with Dying Fetus. Great show. I was talking to Matt Gatecreeper's drummer afterward and I told him a tour with Obituary would be great. He then told me how they influence him.
Hails to Todd for name-dropping Master. Paul Speckmann, as legendary as he is and his importance and contribution(s) to extreme music (Death Metal in particular) I feel is still underrated. As well as his stuff from Death Strike and even Abomination. The demos and stuff he put out in the tape-trading circuit of the mid to late 80's are still jamz that riff-worshippers should seek out and experience at least once in their lifetimes.
Oh and both of these bands are nothing but big fuckin' sweethearts. I got to see the Nails/Gatecreeper tour on the first date in Tampa the day after my b-day. Meeting and hanging out with both Chase and Todd afterwards with my friends and all of us just nerding out about bands such as Pantera, Crowbar, and Celtic Frost was one of the most memorable nights of my life. Forever support to both Nails and Gatecreeper.
power metal, grindcore, doom, thrash, death, black, sludge, nwobhm--all genres have bands that completely slay. #1 Death Metal-Autopsy, so fucking sick. Grindcore-Siege,the founding fathers and the best.
I saw Gatecreeper open for Cannibal and they were really good but the vocals weren't loud enough. But maybe that was the venue's sound people's fault, who knows
0:49 completely based. The local Arizona metal “scene” is just a clique for bands that absolutely *have* to rip off Cannibal Slayer Death and if you so much as play the wrong chord progression for a measure, you get excluded.
Fuck yeah Master are the shit. They played my town before deathfest a few years back and there was hardly anyone there... or not as many as there should have been.
Fuckin NASUM DUDE HELL YES!!! Mieszko was taken way too soon dude. Human 2.0 and Helvete were really like.... pushing the boundaries of perfect and then Shift was perfect. I have shifted into Gadget and have really enjoyed them as a close 2nd to Nasum.
This is the most monotone interview in human history. 10/10
Phil Anselmo and Chuck Schuldiner
Sean Conklin Hahahaha 😂😀
What about them?
Haha spot on
Just saw Gatecreeper last night, and damn what a great band, can't get those riffs outta my head. Met Chase after the show, super nice! Great video!

The Obituary and McDonald's comparison was so perfect. Gave me a good laugh.
Someone should make a chart comparing the entire McDonald's menu to metal bands.
I saw Gatedreeper last night with Dying Fetus. Great show. I was talking to Matt Gatecreeper's drummer afterward and I told him a tour with Obituary would be great. He then told me how they influence him.
I was screaming Nasum at the screen for both of them at four haha. Thank you Chase for not letting me down.
I feel like I'd be bros with these guys. I love making death metal lists and stuff with friends
Nerding out about metal is the best!
I'm so happy they both chose Grave!
A career full of bangers!
its odd seeing chase without his stache

Dude, hell ya. Master doesn't get talked about nearly enough.
Agreed, nice guys, the lot of 'em!
That unreleased 1985 album is something else 🤯
Death Metal: Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Dismember, and Entrails
Grindcore: Nasum, Rotten Sound, Napalm Death, and old school Carcass
"that fuckin' Mcdonald's fuckin GED metal, man. Fuckin' Obituary."
They both seem like such cool dudes hahaha
power metal, grindcore, doom, thrash, death, black, sludge, nwobhm--all genres have bands that completely slay. #1 Death Metal-Autopsy, so fucking sick. Grindcore-Siege,the founding fathers and the best.
Agreed, something good in every subgenre. Good picks!
Death Metal: (no order) Incantation, Autopsy, Bolt Thrower & Deicide/Amon Grind: Napalm Death, Repulsion, Brutal Truth & Terrorizer
Great lists!
That Bolt Thrower longsleeve tho. Chase gimme the hookup
2 of my favorites voc on the same scene!
Any one else think a Genocide Pact, Gatecreeper, Power Trip, & Nails tour would be amazing?!
Fuck yes. Let Red Death open.
Nasum is my favorite grind band of all time
Such a great band.. RIP Mieszko.
Spot on about Grave and Dismember.
A+ bands!
I saw Gatecreeper open for Cannibal and they were really good but the vocals weren't loud enough. But maybe that was the venue's sound people's fault, who knows
Where in the Hell can I find an Official Bolt Thrower Shirt?
Top 4 death metal bands for me - GRAVE, ENTOMBED,SUFFOCATION,& SEANCE. top 4 grindcore BRUTAL TRUTH,NAPALM DEATH, PIG DESTROYER,& LOCK UP
The demigod demo, holy S H A F H O O F
YOU KNOW!
@@AggressiveTendencies demigod from Finland?
which demo was it? Unholy Domain
Met Chase and bought a Gatecreeper shirt at their show in S.f. when they played with c.c. Cool guy, I was hella drunk.
Hell yeah. They're all rad...stayed at my parents' house once, actually!
How was the show? I’m seeing them Sunday.
Eddie Cardwell Bloody awesome.
Master is not mentioned enough! Best vocals.
Death metal : Decrepit birth , Morbid angel , Gatecreeper , Nocturnus
Grindcore: napalm death, Assück , mellow harsher , discordance axis
I'd put Rotten Sound in my top 4 of grind with Nasum, Napalm Death and Brutal Truth.
Autopsy, Obituary, Bolt Thrower, Dismember would be mine
I love 12" EP's
Same! Such a good format.
Death
Bolt Thrower
Morbid Angel
Beheaded (personal fav)
Also Extreme Noise Terrors album Being & Nothing is awesome, check it out if you never have!

Shouldn't be too shocked but I'm somehow surprised they didn't mention Suffocation, Incantation, Immolation
Love all those bands!
Solid pick! But hearing both their music, I think it makes sense that they tend to gravitate more to the Swedish death metal scene.
The way Todd describes the Demigod demo is how I feel about Nail's Obscene Humanity. Nothing they've done after touches it.
pig destroyer are definitely my favourite Grind core band. controversial...
Pig Destroyer rule!
more controversial: their latest album is their best :P
Fuck yeah Master are the shit. They played my town before deathfest a few years back and there was hardly anyone there... or not as many as there should have been.
What a shame. A legendary band.
hell yeah! Mcnuggets metal :D
Love that shit.
Crazy not putting death in either top 4
Dismember, Deicide, Death, Obituary
Todd looks like a young Anselmo xD
Sullivan Knoth a cross between Phil and Henry Rollins
Fuck yea dismember
LIKE AN EVERFLOWING STREAM
Chase totally looks like Chuck Schuldiner
Do you believe in reincarnation?
Holy shit lol yeah he does
"that's right".
Mine is Napalm Death, Nails, Full of Hell, and the Locust
Death Metal is Cattle Decapitation, Grave, Autopsy, and Death
Stoked Chase threw Nasum in there. Def in my top 5.
As he said...contemporary but still worthy. Such a rad band. RIP Mieszko.
Surprised neither of them threw in Death or Bolt Thrower. Chase is even wearing the shirt, haha.
Demigod demo rules all day son
4:30
Death should always be on a top 4 death metal list imo, but everybodies got their thing I guess
Todd looks like hes rough as toast after a night out here 😂
Pre-mustache chase. Also his voice sounds similiat to mike hranica
No Carcass?
No Bolt Thrower?
No Autopsy?
No Daphne & Celeste?
How quickly the greats are forgotten in the mass appeal madness of modernity.
Chase is literally fucking wearing a Bolt Thrower shirt lol
They only got four. If they could name 8 Autopsy, Carcass and Bolt Thrower probabaly would be in there.
"We're music nerds!" (can barely name four grind bands)
Entombed is the best death metal in history . They mixed genres like no other and they dont have stinkers..
