I’ve bought the wetsuit last year.
It’s by far the best wetsuit on the market in terms of flexibility, which I will give a 10/10! Downside, it’s durability is probably 3/10... I would say it lasts 1/1.5 years if you surf an average of two times per week.

i'm wearing my zipless 3/4 now the third year, surfing South Africa.
It keeps me warm in 12°C cold water.
I have no issues so far. This wetsuit is very flexible, feels like a second skin,
easy to put on and off, and i dries quickly.

Got one for my son last year at Real. The durability isn't the best, but it's warm and gets no complaints in mid 50°F water when paired with booties, gloves and hood. My son mostly kiteboards in it, but we did some surf sessions and he was in there for hours. I tried one on and it was much simpler to get into than any other chest zip I've tried besides my old Xcel.

Am I wrong if I say that Hyperfreak is superstretch but not as warm as Psycofreak? Like rip curl ebomb is the "competition" version of the flashbomb, not as warm but perfect for a shorter session?

  • @n0pmat

Just picked up one of these a couple weeks and love it. Thought it would be harder to put on then my old 4/3 I was coming from but it was easier. I also downsized. The material is very stretchy like described.

    • @ehpiercedmd

@@ehpiercedmd probably not as drastic as that but I usually find myself in a Medium Short due to size charts but I went with a Small. My friend who has a Hyperfreak advised me after seeing how both of them fit on me and I'm really happy.

Honestly have had, the 3/2 short arm and 4/3 hooded, both suits the zippers have broken, teeth aren't very durable, my winter suit is oneil and decent, but outside of that, there pretty junk.

Is this suit (4/3) warm (with hoddie and booties) in 50-55º winter water temperature? It holds? or just need to go for a psyco tech?

Is it true the more stretchy, the less warm?

  • @mattmcintosh4337
    @mattmcintosh4337 3 года назад

I got a zipless 4/3 and this thing feels like a 3/2. Not warm at all. every duck dive on a big set water leaks a lot through the neck and I went a size done to make sure it fit. Super stretchy tho felt like I wasn’t wearing a suit. Maybe there are variations of the suit but don’t get that that one!

Why can't I find a MT hooded wetsuit in the UK right now? It driving me mad. Stuck with a 3 year old leaky xcel which has been a great wetsuit but asking too much to get another season out of it. I've searched for hours online but nothing.

Tony, we have some online and do ship internationally. It's been really tough for shops to get inventory this year, we are lucky our reps got us stocked up. www.realwatersports.com/collections/mens-wetsuits/size_medium-tall

@@REALWatersports Thanks for replying. What I really want is an O'neil Hyperfreak 5/4 Hooded MT. I'm 6'3" and skinny, the O'neil sizes seem the closest for me. Xcel MT fits but is a bit short overall so thought I'd try an O'neill.

    • @REALWatersports

@@RBNK157 It's extremely warm, and super flexible. The durability comparison is tough because some people beat up their suits a ton, even just the way they put them on and take them off, and then will blame the suit. We see this for O'Neill and Xcel. Both will last you a few seasons easily if taken care of properly.
