Droplet looking things on the map are location where water is. You can place the well and its attachment and a solar panel to generate water and oxygen, with medium solar panel you can charge the rover. On his first video I explained how he needed to get the survival shelter in the tech tree and then build all those items, scrap them for storage which 100% guarantees has enough to build. Then take the atv and go on a journey before ever setting up a base. Not only will you get to decide where your base location will be but you will be collecting blueprints for when you are ready. Also Drae doesn't read comments and if he does I doubt he cares how we think he should play the game.

Drae.. You really need to look at the bases on the map alot closer. They hide the question mark very nicely on alot of them. They can be sideways.. upside down.. under structures partly.

You can add oxygen bottles and additional batteries to allow it to last longer although personally I have had difficulty with gett the oxygen bottles to add into the rover as for some reason they dont like to go into it. The rover is great for mining however you need a crusher to dump the rocks you collect into otherwise its a pain. Love watching these videos and look forward to many more!
Poor Drae, he is going to flip when he figures out WHY the medium pannels are so good. Or when he builds and figures out how to use the small crusher lol

man you got lucky, mine disappeared halfway through building and i had to collect components all over, then it exploded after getting built, then it built without the dump bed so i gave up and built the large crusher and collected a container full of materials only to run into the bug where the inventory gets randomly deleted when the bed is changed
I think you're pointing out one of the biggest flaws of this game currently that I'm also having with it. The crafting and mining isn't quite intuitive. Games like Hydroneer, Space Engineers, Gold Rush, and others; with a bigger emphasis on the ones with survival in them; integrate the mining into the crafting into the survival. Occupy Mars has just too many "fires to put out" that you never get to mine properly until you get the rover and the grinder. You never get to really craft enough until you get enough mining done and you struggle to survive because you need more crafting done. But you then are running death missions out to search for aluminum to then get what you need to then only need more. Most other survival crafting games, you find that equilibrium sooner where you have more "exotic" ores further out and their demands go higher as your advance techwise, but the supply for some of the more "basic" things in Occupy Mars is just not there. There's just a bad balance currently where survival is a bit more of a requirement and in my opinion demands more attention and detracts from the experience. It's not until you get out of that trap of hanging on by a string every day that you can start to have more fun.
Go to the other side of the rover and open the panel with crane parts you can upgrade battery and tanks by having selected and then place in yhe slots you make them at the printer rover upgrades
It’s very likely to be a tablet at every base, the grey question mark beside or on top of a base is probably just a guarantee the tablet is there. Many times if you don’t find a tablet, it’s because a glitch has made them spawn below ground. When you are at a base and can’t find the tablet, see if you see outlined images at your feet which move when you move - that’s the sign to reload, and items like the tablet will be there then. There are also large white circles on the map with a large white question mark within that circle. This means that there is a “point of interest” somewhere within that circle - could be a piece of equipment (a homage to the true exploration of Mars) on the surface, or one of many caves that have a certain surprise at the bottom.

always confused me that you kept unpluing a solar panel to charge yourself when you've got those things that have all of those outlets on that you run to your batteries.

Lol I always try to move from the first base location in other survival games and seems like you're getting close to eventually coming acrossed a new spot. This game looks forsure worthy of buying the more they update it the better it will get I hope developers use dlc content to make the game better every year like living on Mars would actually be like. Every year or so a ship of new survivors and tools etc will be sent to Mars in real life so I hope they employment that into this you could end up having people working for you 🔥🔥🤘
TIP: If You have a tablet underground, just save the game and reload it (it will bring the tablet up) TIP: If You need a specific blueprint, save the game before taking a tablet and reload it if you didn't get what you wanted

You can actually, if you get the big crusher. The big crusher has another 3D printer with additional items. So there you can make, then attach, a big container which has massive storage space. Then you can drop that container beside your base and use it to store basically everything. You cant get access in or out of it though so can’t use it as an integral part of your home base itself.

Make a proper base that is not so cluttered and able to be remodeled and also build a separate place for the Vehicles
