his designs are just 2 advanced for only 60 pieces the competitors had a way diferent block pallet than his while he was using blades the other were using 1 block propellers
Is that turtle a hybrid ornithopter? That's hilarious and incredible! Awesome job creators! Will we ever see a true ornithopter in besiege on this channel? Because I would love to see that if its possible.
OH MY GOOOD, HOW DID I NOT SEE THIS(? I WOLDXVE PARTICIPATED... my planes are like 120* blocks average, and that is with a big amount of mechanics like flaps... the bigger problem is that i am not good at making engines...
I did the video announcement on the sniper video, I would have done another video but I was running a little low on time :( There will be more contests!
I came up with an engine that's more stable and powerful than the standard wheel-prop engine. It still uses wheels and props, but it's based off the fact that one wheel prop engine spinning one way makes you drift in a certain direction when optimized for speed. So obvs you mirror that engine to counteract it, but eventually one engine will spin slower causing drift, and also thus slowing down the plane. So this engine works like this: balast -> forwards facings small unpowered wheel -> large unpowered wheel facing forward ->large powered clockwise wheel with clockwise optimized props facing forward -> large powered counter clockwise large wheel with respective props facing forward -> large unpowered wheel facing backwards-> backwards small unpowered wheel balast, then connect back unpowered wheel to the front powered wheel using braces and vice versa with the front unpowered wheel and back powered wheel. Normally a wheel spinning one way produces spin in the opposite direction, which gets applied to any wheels behind it. With alternating powered blocks the front one adds speed to the back opposite spinning wheel, but this means that one spins faster due to this counter rotation. This is where the unpowered wheels attached to the powered wheels come in. The back powered wheel is connected to the front large unpowered wheel via braces, so it spins at the same speed and direction. It adds that counterspin to the front powered wheel. The back powered wheel also counter spins the back large unpowered wheel, so to add energy back into the system it gets connected back to the front powered wheel since they spin in the same direction. The additional speed generated by the front get translated to additional counter spin, further speeding up the back powered wheel by counterspin. It in turn counterspins the back unpowered wheel which speeds up the front wheel and so on and so forth. It creates a feedback loop that causes the engine to accelerate to it's max speed (based on vehicle weight and prop angles n whatnot), but it accelerates very very quickly. I personally call it the counter-crank engine. I've used it in a few builds. Most notably my upload called "Lodestar". For visual reference it sorta looks like a flying dorito and has very well optimised turning using the powered hinges and double stacked wing panels. Hope this helps. Happy seiging
Loved the video @Reid Captain! Can't wait for the next video of Besiege man! I'd love to see you Build Either a Lockheed P-38J Lightning Fighter-Bomber or a Douglas A-20G Havoc Medium Bomber in Besiege. Maybe later you can Build some Japanese Kamikaze-class, Mutsuki-class, Fubuki-class and/or Kagerō-class Destroyers and Have a Tokyo Express Convoy to attack with the Lightning's and the Havoc's.
That turtle ornithopter wins. Ornithopters are kinda hard to build (at least they used to) and from what I've seen, very hard to stabilise and make controllable. To do that with 60 parts is definitely impressive
'OK so I've challenged both myself and my viewers to make a plane with 60 blocks or less and to tackle my own challenge, I decided to make the most absurdly complex plane that demands way more than 60 blocks to be effective'
I tried for about 2 hours, somehow my planes was spinning on it's own even tho I had a twin propeller in the opposite direction, don't know what was causing that torque and gave up :D
So what you can do, is have a non powered wheel, then x amount powered wheels, then another non powered wheel. Put 2 props on 2 swivel joints. Brace one prop to the start of the first powered wheel and brace the other prop to the end of the last powered wheel. The torque won’t enter your vehicle because of unpowered wheels and instead that torque devides equally to both props on the engine 😁
The A-10 Warthog is coming next, what other real planes should I recreate?
Spitfire
F18-E with the ability to go 700m/s+ in speed.
F22 Raptor
Tornado
x-15 for da speed record
Thanks for hosting. Had fun building my little red jet. The competition was fierce too.
Amazing plane, for sure my favourite. But how you made him fly, i mean what engine it uses?
@@maks_kamerrer I wish to know too
@@maks_kamerrer seems like stacking a ton of wheels and then a few propellers
Awesome jet
Steam community link?
The plane can fly, but can it make a grilled cheese?
THATS the real question
It depends on the type of the engine it has
It annoys me how I can only read this in spies voice from tf2
But can it run crysis?

Besiege builders are top tier. The workshop and discord is a hive of the most unhinged skill I’ve ever seen in a creative game.
I love how literally every single plane he showed was vastly better than his 😂
his designs are just 2 advanced for only 60 pieces the competitors had a way diferent block pallet than his while he was using blades the other were using 1 block propellers
It's what happens when designs are judged by coolness instead of mechanical realism. A criteria in favour of non engineers.
@@dark6.63E-34 This is a game
@@Nick-bb4nk your point?
Sure, the plane can fly... But can it make me an omelette?
Can it sing like those singing fish? I think not
I can :)
amazing contest and I was glad I could participate in it :)!
(I made the turtle haha)
Thanks for entering :)
@@ReidCaptain 🤷♂️ np, everything for chad youtubers :)
Can't wait for that warthog!
I love the idea of getting the community involved as well! There are so many creative minds out there, that deserve a stage!

I’ve seen one of those before on Reddit. It’s definitely possible

400m/s??
Damn bro built a supersonic propeller plane
Was a fun competition. Looking forwards to the next one!
Now I want to build the fastest plane Besiege has ever saw
the quickest one looked like it had stacked rotating wheels to create a ton of speed, so that's probably a good place to start
Thanks for hosting! Had fun participating in this contest
After watching the entire video I can concude that it is good
Bro has 1000x speed

That car is so cool!!!!! And so simple!!!! And that little red plane is so endearing. And the turtle is simply impressive from a design standpoint.
Wooooaah a RUclipsr who knows the difference between less and fewer? Impossible...
Hell yeah, this was really fun to participate in :D

Sure, this plane is made in less than 60 parts...but can it beat Goku?

I literally just flew a plane in real life about an hour ago so this video has perfect timing
you should make the A-10 have a working slide of the machine gun, which would be very kool.
I miss read the title and thought it said this is how I hosted it
A b29 works better for dropping nukes tho because its bigger
'OK so I've challenged both myself and my viewers to make a plane with 60 blocks or less and to tackle my own challenge, I decided to make the most absurdly complex plane that demands way more than 60 blocks to be effective'
Hey Reid captain, have you heard of the game trailermakers? Love the vid as always.
It is possible to outsmart Reid?!
Can’t wait for besiege 2
I dare you to make a B. 737 in Besiege 😊
I certainly would have lost, my ideas are far to complicated
It was a struggle to not make things too complicated
@@ReidCaptain i can understand, i might make an attempt next time you do a challenge
for syncing up the 2 propellers it might have been better to use a 4 bar linkage across the two
