Still using our M1 Air so the 15 inch M2 was tempting. Your portability argument is spot on, currently typing this on the Air with it on my lap and it's the perfect size and weight.
I have a 2017 13 inch, and the screen with the bezels actually does measure to roughly 15 inches. It's amazing to me how much bigger this 15 inch feels despite it not actually having that much of a bigger footprint. (The feet are a lot closer to the floor and the entire thing is wedge shaped on the old one, kind of like a clam)
watching this on my 15 inch macbook air lmao One thing i will say, while at first it may feel big, you will likely get used to it. But also, its a lot lighter than you think it would be.
I would get used to the screen for sure. 15 inches is perfect, but I mostly an external monitor. If you used it like a laptop more, it's definitely go for the 15".
Someone saying the real truth and breaks my heart seeing the amount of views whereas those bigger so called famous youtubers are just sugar coating everything
I went to the Apple Store and tried it and yeah..100%..it's huge for sure..and the size and weight was one of the reasons I just went for 13 since I wanted a smaller design/size and weight with the M1 Air. Don't get me wrong, if 15" is something that the buyer wants, then go for it..but 15" for sure is bigger than expeccted. The 16" is just a beast but it's still better design than some of my older ASUS laptops that were 17"..that was just a clunky machine. I really believe that M3 will be a step up and not like the M1 vs M2 since M3 has that 3nm process chip.
In the process of deciding this for myself. What is really needed is a 14.5 inch Air to split the two. Edit: Oh and by the way, a prominent youtuber has shown that Apple has unlocked the base model’s 256gb drive in its latest OS update, it’s performing much much better now than at the time of it’s release - almost back to parity with the 512gb dual chip config.

Yeah it’s a lot more similar to the older MacBook pros

Thanks for the support!
Great advice. I was choosing between M1 air and M2 15. I want it specifically for travel and using in bed.
Thanks. Yeah I wanted the 15inch but I think it’s better for a desk.

That's good to hear!
