I think the gap looks fine the way it is, my vote for the tail light would be centered on top of the rear fender. The bike is looking awesome!!! If were guessing what car you have I'd say a 1st gen camaro. Keep up the good work the projects and videos are badass.
Had a similar issue with my Bultaco, upgrading the front and rear sprockets and chain to 520 guage, The problem I had was taking out what I thought was the right amount of links left no room for adjusting the tension, leaving the chain too slack, then taking out a further link left it too tight, I ended up getting whats known as a half link to make up the adjustment.
Bike looks awesome! It has a cool steam punk thing going on. I think it would be nice to move that rear fender back a bit, but you might want to consider welding in an adjustable piece so that you can shift it back and forth more easily. That way you don't have to do this all again when you have to replace the chain.
You could mod the bottom guard mount by putting a smaller diameter pipe inside and fitting a small lock screw making it telescopic. This would eliminate any adjustment your going to need to make with chain stretch/adjustment.
Looking over your bike the fender looks good to me but you being the builder, I'm sure your eyes will always be drawn to it. So you should change it because you won't be happy until you do. My advice to you is to get some good insulated fireproof pants because it think your exhaust is going to set you on fire while driving down the highway. :)
Keep a close eye on the chain. I ran a similar tensioner on my Bobber, that spring will stretch your chain quickly. I ended up using mine as an idler, not using the spring at all
Thanks for posting. I'm also doing a triumph bobber. I love your exhausts. Are the The Factory Metalworks ones? Unfortunately they have gone out of business so where can I get a set now. I'm in UK! Cheers
If you feel like asking if it's too much of a gap, than you obviously feel like it's too much of a gap. It sucks to have to fix it, but do the right thing and get it done so it doesn't bother you later when it's finished.
where did you get the parts to make the tensioner, I have a Tribsa with a four inch extended swinging arm that needs a tensioner, great video by the way.
Wait until after the DGR to tighten the gap. After all it's a small adjustment, but would require time. You could use the time to complete the rest of the finishing work.
Personally i think there's to much of a gap in the fender, also the spacing isn't symmetrical following the circumference of the tire. But then it really depends on the roads around you, if the tire picks up gravel/stones they'll get lodged and potentially shred the tire

This has to be one of top 3 jobs in the world.

I would love to see a tracker build
Looks good.
you might have mentioned this before but what size tires have you got on the bike?
Great build by the way.
Perhaps an inner sleeve on the bottom fender mount tube so you can adjust it as the chain stretches?
looking good!
Also who made tensioner please. Fellow Austinite here.
Do you typically us a MIG or TIG welder?
Both, MIG for tacks and heavy duty welds and TIG for detail work.
I think the gap at the bottom must be the same as at the top, it'll look even/balanced....
have you done complete engine rebuild?
No, luckily the guy who owned it before me had the whole bike gone through by a local shop. I have about 5K in receipts just from the last 3 years.
i see.

is ti a Nova? you seem like a guy who would rock a 68 nova
Voodoo vintage?
make it rideable before cosmetic on the 2 week timeframe, you can always do stuff after
I must be the only one in the world who thinks anything above 17 inch wheels looks dumb. lol
and its been a week i could not put chain tensioner on my cycle.
I would tighten the gap up a bit
I would tighten up the gap...I'm guessing chevelle
To much gap. Fix it...
