The Rebel 1100 "Club Style" Handlebar Riser Solution!

  • It's been a long time coming, but I FINALLY figured out the best way to put "club style" handlebar risers on my Honda Rebel 1100! The process of figuring it all out took a bit of time and research, but now that that's out of the way, this solution will make it super simple for you to do the same to your Rebel 1100!
    No wiring necessary, no permanent changes to the bike in the process, and at the time of filming this, EVERYTHING you need is under $150 plus tax/shipping...does it get any better than that?! Check out all the links and details below!
    ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️
    The 6" risers I used- roxspeedfx.com/products/v-twi...
    The 8" pullback risers if you want those- roxspeedfx.com/products/v-twi...
    The adapter studs needed to use these risers (or theoretically ANY Harley spec risers with 1/2"x13 threading)- amzn.to/3GLbthF
    The HeliBars 13cm brake line extension- www.helibars.com/comfort/hand...
    The Kijima 70mm longer clutch cable- japan.webike.net/products/255...
    The clamp I used to mount the speedometer- amzn.to/48kPJoD
    The speedometer cable extension needed if going taller than 6" risers- www.ebay.com/itm/334607042759...
    If you don't have metal to make the speedometer bracket, I just cut up one of the extra extension brackets from this universal hand guard kit- amzn.to/3NxqWpk
    Note- If you have a Rebel 1100 DCT model, your parking brake cable will likely be too short for risers of this height! I have not looked into where you might be able to find a longer one. Also, if you're using the OEM optional batwing fairing, the stock 1100T fairing, or anything similar, this setup may not work for you! I believe the stock fairings have mounting points on/near the risers which would be affected by this. Please verify before trying this!

      Random thought. Do the risers have any effect on the speed wobbles? I know it’s a tire issue but seeing as they affect the balance of the bike, I would assume that they affect the wobbles as well.

      I much prefer this look over any bars that are available. I’m just not a fan of ape hangers at all and the only real bar options are different variants of that.
      Only bars really available are Burly Brand’s 12” ape hangers and Takumi World’s version of apes. The BB are too high for me, require a crap ton of wiring work, and I don’t like the angle they put your hands at. The TW have a weird finish, I don’t like how angular the design is, and they seem to put your hands at a weird angle too. Plus, this setup cost less than the bar options.

    • @LifeOfBurch
      @LifeOfBurch  6 месяцев назад +2

      Not sure exactly what you mean by “ruin” it 🤔 In theory everything should work the exact same on DCT vs manual, with one exception- DCT has a parking brake cable. So you’d need to find a longer parking brake cable if the stock one won’t reach. I believe Gus from On The Rebel 11 got his stock parking brake cable to work on his riser setup just by rerouting it, but his setup is one of the ones that comes back more than it goes up. Also, Burly Brand has a full 12” ape hanger kit that is designed to also work on the DCT so it comes with a longer parking brake cable, so you could always go that route. Or see if someone who bought that kit for their manual Rebel has the parking brake cable sitting around that they’d sell you.

    It kind of feels like you missed the target and should've just gotten a nice used dyna or soft tail. Yes they're heavier, but their touring ability and comfort far exceed the rebel. You're one of the big reasons I chose the rebel 1100, but I couldn't imagine changing the looks so dramatically. Forward pegs and passenger accommodations, sure. In 2020 there were a few new Harley models you could've gotten for less than you've spent on the rebel at this point, and no offense, but you've done everything in your ability to make your rebel as close to a Harley as possible.
