I really love this theme. It’s so mournful and eerie. Along with the creepy visual of slowly going down a forest path in the night. I kind of wish it didn’t change from that after you beat the game.
Friendly PSA to people who finished the game and want this theme back: Your menu theme changes based off the save you're on. If you're on NG+, you'll get the "vintage" RE4 screen with the orange village background and whatnot. If you start a new game, you'll change it back to this one. I do wish you could have the option to choose between them, though. Hopefully in a patch update at some point; alongside the ability to delete individual save files lol
I never played any RE before this one, which I'm enjoying so much I cannot even tell... But I instantly noticed similarities with Dark Soul series, like level design, sound design, soundtrack (when saving for example, it's very similar to Dark Souls 1 character creation theme). But let's not forget Resident Evil was here before Dark Souls, so this is the game that started the Dark Souls madness whether you like it or not (the inspiration is clearly there whether the devs were aware of it or not). I'm enjoying every minute of this game, I understand why it's treated like one of the best games ever made.
Not really, Resident Evil didn't start the Dark Souls craze. It was a mix of metroidvania and King's Field, along with quite a bit of Berserk manga that inspired Dark Souls. Now the Forbidden Woods from Bloodborne is 100% inspired by Resident Evil 4 village section. In Bloodborne, the villagers in the forbidden woods will have snakes come out of their heads just how the plaga comes out of the villagers head. Overall imo Bloodborne shares more with Re4 than Dark Souls.@@Mulisak
But its so contradictory to the people who are in love with this game. Normally youd hear this and run away. But when i hear this im like START THE GAME NOW I CANT WAIT TO ROUNDHOUSE THESE MFS and at the same time i wanna stay on the menu and listen to how great it is that someone paired a great game with a great menu music
Walking and traversing through this eerie and dreadful forest in the dead of night is gonna feel like paradise once you reach that first house followed by the many unspeakable horrors that are to come...
This music gives me the chills because I played this as a kid when it first came out on GameCube and I’m sitting here 18 years later witnessing a masterpiece remake. It’s so beautiful and surreal.
The cello and the violin harmonizes so effortless with other synths in the track although they are simple notes in the input they play majorly in the overall sound track theme experience as they imply different feelings of " inevitability" and "of" the journey you are about to experience, just sharing my opinion as a sound artist and a fan of the franchise. Peace
ok, i dont know what it is, but I got a very strong sense of deja vu from this soundtrack. it sounds like when you go to those 4D scary/thriller rides at like Universal Studios or something, and when you wait in line inside the thriller-themed hallways amongst other ride-goers. and music like this would be playing on loop in the background. that's the feeling I get from this track. this is super specific, but am I the only one who feels this way? lmao
This theme is amazing, the sounds in the background make it even better with the sounds that make you feel uncomfortable and uneasy but at the same time beautiful sounds, the laughs (kinda sounding like that) are so creepy i LOVE IT

The music really added the moody atmosphere to the main menu. It somehow anthromorphised the forest. Like it was alive and telling you, "If you go down this path, you won't come back"
The music feels like it's telling you "Why did you set foot in this God forsaken place?"

this theme is giving me a sad feeling. if i made a name for this it would be ' ' dark bellow. ' ' because it feels like a tragic story echoing.

Yea I agree totally, it has a sad vibe to it but kinda low key chill at the same time.
Hopefully there will be a patch where they'll let you switch back to the first menu and you get this theme again after completing the game.

I know this is 8 months old, but you "just" need to overwrite all your new game+ save files with new game ones.
