9:58 Hello baby!! Those headers were tuned way back when. 🤠 My ol' school suggestion: Install (temp) cut outs behind the flange & let a fun exhaust guy replicate a max HP set up, but bear in mind the final drive gear ratio will ultimately determine top end speed. Excellent project! Beautiful example of Mopar American class iron! Let us know more about your diamond loves as you've now got fellow players/coaches following these cool videos! Cheers!
Nice Coronet! My first car was a Black 64 Polara 500 with a 318 auto and red bucket seat interior! That was in 1968. Great first car those old Dodges of the 60s. At least you got a BB with yours. 😊
My father kept 3 dodge Coronets when I was growing up. 2 four doors and one station wagon.. 318 and 2 383 cars . Learned to drive in them and love seeing this video
Best of the bunch True battle wagon. We had one in Cali 20 yrs ago so sad to say goodbye. Drove out to the desert countless times, never missed a beat. My husband swapped the grille for a charger one with turnaround headlights. Love the fan shaped detailing on back wing behind doors. The Coronet never stopped growing on me. Great to see a young lad appreciating a classic, a thing of beauty. Look forward to more vids of this
That's a nice coronet got one just like have owned it for 40 years bought it from the original owner those hubcaps are not original to the coronet looks like 66 or 67 charger got a nice start for a street car thanks for sharing
Good video...enjoyed the Derek from VGG references..."LE SABREEEEYYY"...Coronet looks good...this is the only way the hobby will survive...resurrecting old cars "on a budget".
I enjoy finding new channels such as yours, I can't wait to see the progress on this Mopar. Don't know if you know it or not but you can mix vinegar and water one to one. It will chemically kill rust. You know it's working when it turns black. If you plan on refinishing the whole car you could just spray it with some white Rust-Oleum after you kill the rust it'd be cheap. Also you can put some ATF and the cylinders. In the beginning of the video I didn't catch it if you introduced yourself what do we call you. God bless
Thank you for the kind words. Engine is currently unlocked, I’m just editing the video now. I plan on using the vinegar water mixture for the fuel tank just to make sure I get it all clean. The name is Tim. I’ll make sure to introduce my self in the next video.
Officially the 440 engine was only available in the 67 Coronet R/T, but there are records that Dodge made a super small number of Coronet 440's with the 440 engine in 67. Those may have been police or government cars (FBI?), but the number of them may have been less than 10. I doubt anybody would find one now and any kind of condition.
If the engine is a 440 and is a 67 which the 67 engines were painted turquoise it has the best cylinder heads you could possibly get for a 383 or 440 they're called close chamber higher compression way to go 💨
Hubcaps are 1965 dodge coronet spinners, I believe. I believe that engine isn't original to the car, plain V8 emblem means 273, 318, 361, 383 2 barrel.
Although thermoquads did indeed come on the 440 as well as other engines, in 1967 Carter had the WCFB and the AFB and were just getting ready to release the AVS.
@@ClassicAutoRescuesthanks for answering 'so would it be in the $7000 to $10'000 range not running and needing some body work and paint? Just trying to get an idea on current values from afar (New Zealand) 👍
Did you watch the end? I said I’m going to do my best to keep it. I’m a 19 year old college student (also plays baseball). I’m supporting myself and putting myself through college by buying, selling, and working on car/trucks.
Skip to 7:18 the first 7 minutes is nothing but waffling, you don't see him get the car on the trailer he just skips to the part where it's already on the trailer.
I think I apologized for that in the video. This was before I had a tripod so I would have been kinda embarrassed to rig something up to video it. Also, we didn’t really have a plan to get it on there and it was almost dark and I didn’t want to waste the fellas time trying to set my camera up. It was also cold as hell lol
Piet he says that as he's wearing a VGG merchandise at the end of the video. Not only can't this joker not find his own jokes or way to make content but has to lie about it.
@@kevinhovis4 I’m sorry for using a joke or saying that he made up or probably got from his dad. I’ve heard most of Derek’s jokes from other people, so I doubt he came up with every single one on his own.
440 was a trim line. A true 440 engine Coronet would of been tagged as an RT with dual hood scoops. BTW, all BP and only BP gas stations use “green” handles for non diesel fuel. Confusing as heck!
@@sparent9922 it does have headers. Makes it hard to change the starter (what I’m having to do now). The exhaust has been hacked off and one of the pipes is still dangling.
Cut the belts off it fan and alternator belts power steering belt then see if it'll turn over you need to check the background the Coronet was around before the charger and all the rest of them GTX etc etc. Why do you think the police and highway patrol use the Coronet four-door because they're badass run down anything on the road in its day. The 440 is a big upgrade

I would love to have a coronet wagon. I love wagons in general but coronet wagons make me feel warm inside.

Working on editing the video on getting the engine unlocked. I like the charger grilles too, but now they are too expensive for me lol
I Off roaded my '70 Barracuda with heavy springs and T bar several times in the desert too! worked good! I built a skid pan for my oil pan.
I think those hubcaps are off of a Monaco or Polara, but they look nice
Some have said first gen charger. I agree that they probably are not original to the car. Definitely looks good though.
Another VGG fan welcome to the club.
I guess you could tell by the jacket. I accidentally used to many of his jokes because I’ve made them apart of my vocabulary lol.

I think the Coronet 440 was a model# the 440 wasn't necessarily the engine , this could have a 318, 383 or 440 !
Great find and very minimal rust. You did good!
I appreciate it!
thanks for the video, Iam a big fan of the Mopar.
Me too. I love them, but most are way out of my price range lol

Wow that’s a beautiful car brother your going build her up
Just focusing on getting her going down the road for now. Maybe some stuff in the future 😉

i want that car i had one in the late 60's

I believe he said the 440 was a ‘68 and out of a Chrysler
Nick's Garage for advice.

I think I said in the video that it was swapped to a 440. You might have missed that. I appreciate the information about the v8 emblem!
@@ClassicAutoRescues sorry I didn't hear the comment about the swap, audio is very low on ur videos.
Wow what a find! Even that steering wheel is gonna be in a lot better shape having been wrapped hopefully forever lol!
You’re totally okay. I’ll try to do better in the future.
You need to check into getting a thermoquad carburetor that came on the motor they work good.
Trying to find one is the hard part. Then have to sell the farm to buy it 😂
Original carburetor in 1967 was a Carter AFB.
Although thermoquads did indeed come on the 440 as well as other engines, in 1967 Carter had the WCFB and the AFB and were just getting ready to release the AVS.
Dang I woulda bought that bumpside ford too!!
If can find one, try to get a charger hidden headlight grille
I don’t think I could afford one lol
@@ClassicAutoRescues We put the Charger turnaround grille on ours Made the front look tough as ****
The outside of the sheet metal is the same, but the inside of the fenders is different for Charger hidden headlights.
It would be interesting to know how much you paid for it. What price range would it be in approx? Cool car.
With it running and driving I’d say 15-20k. But I’m no expert. I paid quite a bit less, but again the engine is locked and need quite a bit of work.

Nice car, but not a survivor. It was originally a small block car
I believe that’s not a 440 not with single exhaust
