I cannot hear it ! They have good skills. But everything i hear sounds like a machine. Non swinging vibe or groove but hey, What do I know. Personally the bass playing and arrangement masterpieces of master musicians such as Quincy, Bill Evans, Ahmed Jamal, Burt Bacarach, jaco Padtorious, paul chambers, Ron Carter, Marcus Miller, Thelonious monk, to name but a few. Wete all vastly superior. These drum arrangements are stiff, predictable and soulfully uninspiring. That said, you wish them well…
Not all jazz swings. Also if you are comparing Domi and JD Beck to that list of musicians, I think you are already missing the point. But hey, I respect your opinion, not all music is for everyone.

Just feel these guys are not the cream of their crop. More internet , covid fads deserving of a place near the top of contemporary musicianship, all the same. Question: if they didn’t have a look and sexual orientation as they do, what would be the trajectory. Note, the newest sexual revolution ofvany time will, spawn a political following and allegiance. You cannot mentor virtuosity it is a gift.........they would end up trying to copy them.
To my ear, DOMi would enjoy Hiromi as a mentor but I think she already has her own unique style which is refreshing. Both kids are brilliant!
