I wish Indycar at COTA had worked out and fans had showed up. It is a decent venue for Indycar. Unfortunately it didn't go that way. Hopefully Indycar gains popularity again and they can give COTA another chance in the future.
I agree. I'd like to be able to afford to attend another race there. God knows I sure as hell ain't going to be able to get there to see F1 ever again. Went from going to every single USGP at Indy, to going to see the race at COTA 2 times.
Unfortunately the 2020 race was cancelled due to the pandemic. Then Nascar went to the track in 2021, and it seems like IndyCar was pushed a side for that. I also believe IndyCar has a deal with the Texas Motor Speedway that prevents them from returning.
@@Demise90Racing I don't know this for sure, but I'm fairly certain that condition about TMS is long-gone. I think that was Eddie Gossage's deal in response to the Houston races. New management and contacts since then. It wasn't even guaranteed IndyCar would return to TMS in '23, so I doubt the series felt the need to give exclusivity like that. And I think the renewal after last year was for only this year Basically, I don't think it's likely that's currently in effect. Maybe on TMS' next deal if the '23 TMS race does well. But it's no secret the attendance there has decayed.
Man, I'd genuinely love to see indy have a proper full scale race here again. Cota is just awesome for indy, seeing how close the racing turns out to be, COTA will be a driver's track in Indy and would be an amazing venue.
It's a shame they don't race at COTA on the current calendar. It's a fantastic track for open wheel. One of my favourite tracks to watch F1 cars pound through.

The day Colton made a fan out of me. I hope he can eliminate the silly mistakes and clinch that title because let's be honest it's looking like F1 is probably not happening
Yeah, he does make silly mistakes and has given away races he had won for sure. I still think F1 will happen as long as Andretti is officially on the grid.
@@Demise90Racing IndyCar needs Andretti more than F1. A bounceback is bound to occur and hopefully teammates don't collide with one another as I witnessed firsthand last year
As long as the rule is the same for everybody, I don't care if they go out of bounds before pit lane. When the WEC and Austrailian Supercars raced there, cars were allowed to straight line the esses after Turn 1.
As someone who very much rates Colton as a F1 worthy prospect, who says he can fight the championship? The guy is clearly ass at ovals and Andretti seems to make a worse car every year.
Do you wish IndyCar would return to COTA?
No. COTA isn’t really the best track, in my opinion. Also we already have WAY too many road courses in the sport
Not necessarily but not against it either
Yes
@@ericmarchesini4883 yes for me
IndyCar needs more races, and this is a top level circuit in North America, so yes, absolutely

@@niftyfiftytwo1484 I definitely have to do a little more digging into that. A lot has changed with TMS and IndyCar since 2019.
@@Demise90Racing Yeah, don't take my word on that. I feel like I'm remembering about half the info lol

most relatable thing I've ever heard a racing driver say
Hahaha 100%

Fun fact I was 17 years old and worked on this team. Great times with good guys
Miss those LED panels on the cars
Yeah they were cool. Unfortunately went away when the aero screens came along.
god me too, i feel like they could make a new version of em that could be even better
Great video as always Demise 😁❤️
As always. Thank you very much 😁

Love it when you post indycar vids ❤️
Hell yeah. Spoiler alert. Next week is IndyCar too 👍

👍👍👍👍👍

Most definitely 👍
Indycar should have stay in COTA instead they go back to the track not to be named cause everyone hates it
They have to be invited back, and with NASCAR taking that spot, it doesn't look like they'll be going back any time soon.
He is kinda of a disappointment.
Indycar looks so out of place at COTA
You think so? I think it's a great track for IndyCar. Although the run offs shouldn't be as abused.
