I bought this helmet for the 2020 ski season and I'm really liking it. I used the measurement I use for my baseball hats and it fits perfect. It gets a lot of compliments on the mountain, and I had one bad fall where I smacked the back of my head against the mountain while riding pretty fast and I walked it off. I definitely recommend.

I got it for cycling and it is a very hot helmet, better for the slopes because it will keep you warm but to hot for anything else its really cool though

I just won an RGXD1 and I measured my head and im on the line between the medium/large and the XL/XXL. IM curious which size you're wearing here and how tight is it on your head vs what does your head measure? Mines really tight and feels like I should go up one size. Let me know what you think, thanks ✊🙌
Nice review. Would you consider it a cold breaker or warm guear. I am from eastern Qc in Canada with -30c days.
oh at -30°C you'll definitely need something like a bandana underneath. Depending how harsh the wind is, -20°C already can be rough.
What size do you wear?
I bought the RG1-DX 2020 chrome. It came with black lenses not the chrome lenses. Dope helmet, a little bummed that I have to separate order the chrome lenses though.
That's good to know! It seams like they changed that. the 2019 Version came with Chrome lenses

They made a carry/storage bag specifically for it.. as of rn they have a deal where you get the audio system made for it, the carry bag and the helmet/goggles itself along with another lens for the goggles if you buy the full helmet with the mask

You are welcome. Surprisingly not really. The surface can take quite the beating before it gets scratched.
Was going to ask this because I am currently torn between loki and the chrome. So the chrome doesn't get that scratched during the course of a season??

Can you use other goggles with this helmet or do you have to use the goggles it comes with? Have you tried the fit of other ones like Anon? Does it matter if it doesn't fit perfectly? Thank you!
I haven't tried any other goggles cause i think they work just fine. If your googles are too big, you'll have a hard time properly wearing the chin guard.
great video, did your nose touch the front part. It does on mine and wonder if ti's going to cause issues
Mine does touch the front every now and then but so far I never had any issues with it
@@AttiBear I think it's ok but sadly the material is very fragile and so i never got to wear mine because one of the sides snapped whilst trying to put it on
I am using this to ride my Indian Motorcycle because this is so much lighter than Atlas models…Haven’t spilled yet so not sure what happens when it hit a pavement…
Anyone know if these would work for snowmobiling? I wear glasses and have fogging issues. My 509s just aren't cutting it anymore.
They also have Motor Cycle Helmets. They probably would offer better protection for you 😉
I love the look of the chrome helmet but I was wondering how much it scratches when you take a fall skiing/ snowboarding
Hey Isaac, I had the exact same concern and I'm happy to say it's really rugged. The chrome finish can take quite a beating before it's getting damaged.

I don't know if you're still reading these or answering seeing as it's been over a year since you've published, but you answer some questions so I thought I'd give my shot. What is the visibility for you? I purchased the Toxin-2020 I believe and when my head is sitting level to me, I can't see up to 5 feet in front of me. Is this the same for you?
That will depend on your night of course but yes I don’t see the first bit in front of me either 😅. I’d love if the made the field of view a bit bigger

I have the RG1DX core. A lot of people look at me when I wear it at the slope, whether they're thinking how stupid or cool this guy looks, I don't know LOL!
I get those looks too and I'm also never sure which one I'm getting at the moment 😅
At the slope ppl think u look fucking dumb cause its the "noob" helmet, and it rly doesn't help all that much, but in mountains it can help with the "tracker" and all. But im gonna use this while skating, and i know the tsg should be better/ safer.. but i also know that there is no protection that will save u from hugging an incoming truck going at 40+ mph down a hill, i like the way it fits my skull, and i only rly need a face plate, done with having to get stitches in my face.
Can the goggle strap be worn under the helmet or does it have to be outside?
It can only be worn outside
no hate I've always just seen the people who wear these are just Jerrys on the mountains. also they don't have mips which is very unfortunate, (its the best way to protect your head from rotational impacts while skiing/snowboarding as of 2021). if I can recommend any better helmets (that don't have the style) are Smith, Giro, or Poc. If you're looking for style points from other people on the Mountian, id go with a smith maze. yes it doesn't have a face chin protecter thingy or the googles, but if you wanna look steezy. id go with a smith maze

No the helmet isn’t polished. It’s a paint job. Regarding the crack you should reach out to their customer service. They are really good
Do you know if you can use the helmet while using a different brand of goggles?
Of course without the Chinguard.
It highly depends on the googles. Some could fit others wont. You'd need to try it to be sure.

I'd not recommend you to rid this one with your Motorcycle, but they do have Motorcycle Helmets too 😉
Do the inside of the goggles press against your facial skin? If so what is the material and is it hard to clean sweat off of? Great tutorial and this is surely one of the coolest looking helmets on the market.
The goggles behave like normal ski goggles so you have some skin contact. The padding is the same foam material you know from other goggles. I never had to clean mine from sweat, but if they get greasy just remove the maglens and you can clean them like normal sunglasses. It’s not only the coolest looking but also the most comfortable one

@@AttiBear Forgot to ask. Heat wise, what is the hottest temps you've used your Ruroc in? I live in Florida and no matter what, helmets are hot. But the air flow design of this, along with the awesome reflecting chrome might be dooable. Thank you again for the info.
The ventilation is great as long as you are moving. Once you stop it'll get hotter underneath but it's manageable. I rode in 30+°C and never came close to being uncomfortable like I did with some "normal" helmets.

I'm inly use to motorbike helmets so this Is the first helmet I've got for other uses and it feels slim compared to motorbike helmets

Im thinking about getting one but im not sure which size to get. Im around a 57-58 cm which is in the (M/L). The next size is a (Xl/XXl) at 60 cm. Which one should I get because the guide says to go with the (M/L) but I dont want to get one small, my head doesn’t grow that much but i want it to last for the next 3 years at least
You can insert some padding in the back of the helmet if the XL is a tad too big. So if you are still growing you are probably better off with XL. If the helmet is too tight, it isn't good either.

I bought the first gen in matte black Years ago. Curious as to how the quality has improved because when I got mine it was AWFUL. Cheap Halloween costume feeling fogging and foam falling apart. I think I paid over 500 dollars just to "look cool" either that or mine was a complete dud.
Not to mention no one could hear what I was saying because of the mouth piece echoing everything back into my ears felt like I was shouting. Man I just had no luck was so frustrated plus ruroc completely dismissed my claims and did nothing to correct the faulty goggles
Wow ok that's surprising. Never had any issues with fogging or foam falling apart. Maybe you really got one of the early ones where they still needed to figure things out. I had mine now for two years and even the chromes holds up beautifully. Also never had any issues with people not understanding me on the slopes.
I wear glass is that comfortable with glass in it
If you don’t wear the goggles you can easily wear glasses with the helmet, but it doubt you can wear them with the goggles
Yes but probably not with goggles on but the glasses don’t fog up because of how the helmet is built I love my ruroc helmet 🤙🏽

You can buy the helmet and goggles separately if you want. But they are commonly bought together.
Every helmet comes with goggles. You only can buy additional accessories separately

Ive been looking for a downhill ski helmet but they just a little too pricey, hopefully I can get one though that would be awesome. But Ive seen some bad reviews on their motorcycle helmets etc but overall Ive seen some pretty good reviews for these helmets which make me a little more comfortable if I do end up buying one
Hopefully you haven't bought one, all their helmets are trash, cheaply made graphic and colour looks nothing like what's on their website. Liner never fit properly, the velcros would fall off. Trust me, I bought two of their helmets. Regretted ever since

The helmet is absolutely worth it. I haven't worn another helmet since I own this one. I'd recommend you to check Ruroc's website for prices, cause occasionally they are on sale.

It looks stupid. None of the pro snowboarders use them - and it's nothing to do with sponsorship. You need something with MIPS (Multi Impact Protection System) if you're concerned about safety. And the front piece is probably dangerous if you face plant. Bad idea, bad look. Fine if you want to wear it on gaper day to looks like a storm trooper.
Bought one. It was garbage. Went in the bin. Avoid. Build quality terrible
