    Awesome thank you for this video! I have been debating on a Twinstar for my tanks. Think I might invest in one!

    How to operate twinstar sister ?
    I just bought my twinstar M5. I can operate mode 1 Normally.
    But for the mode 2, the light won’t pop up.
    Does we need to switch from mode 1 to mode 2 base on our water volume ?
    Or just let it operate without press or hold anything ? I’m so confused

      You need to use mode 1 & 2 adjusted to your tank size. Once you turn it to one of the modes (mode 2 even if the light isn't shining), it'll turn on from time to time. First click is mode 1, 2nd is mode 2, 3rd is off :)

    So it is okay to use the Twinstar sterilizer while running CO2 . Wouldn't the oxygen from the Twinstar bring the CO2 numbers down ??

    • @aquafox6868

      Mhm, water can accept a certain ratio of O2 and CO2 under "normal" circumstances. The rest will just leave off throught the surface. I'm not perfect in chemistry, but I'm sure under normal conditions, it means at a certain, now 24*C and not being under pressure, water can adapt a nearly fix level of CO2 and O2, and not more. :)
      Answering your question, as CO2 directly sets to other substances in water, theoretically the "too much" amout will just absorb as clean CO2 onto the surface. So the sterilizers don't affect the CO2 level.
      At least what I know, chemistry in school was too long time ago ;)

      AquaFox from what I understand from Twinstar is that because it is micro bubbles it will not displace the CO2 in the column as if it were an air stone.

    I just bought a Twinstar Shrimp and in both modes it just stops after 10 seconds. Is that what it’s meant to do or is it defective?

      It runs for 10 sec and around 10 minutes pause. Do not worry.. just wait for it. :)

    How it kills bacteria and still have cyanobacteria?!

    • @aquafox6868
      @aquafox6868  3 года назад

      Unfortunately it doesn't kill always everything, but cyano bacteria are anyway a pretty hard topic, since even scientists don't always know, where cyano comes from. But we never had bacteria which make fish ill ;)

    Nobody knows how it works. I can also design a product with a name to justify what it can do but it just rips off your wallet.

    So it's a device for people that can't be bothered learning how to balance a planted tank & never want thier plants to grow to thier full potential. Got it

  • @karkoor
    @karkoor 4 года назад +1

    The product is useless. Period. Co2 and oxygen do not alter each other in a tank. And by night the tank should have plenty of o2 from photosynthesis during day.

      it made a huge difference in my aquascape. was tired of hair algae and GSA on my glass. Now tank is 100% of algae. no need to clean glass anymore

      @@onlyformefarhan i think millions of ppl achieve that without this device. Looking at its price point. Ide achieving the balance naturally

      How can you get it so wrong? Water holds a finite amount of dissolved gas. So while they produce oxygen during the day, once the water is fully saturated with oxygen, no more gasses can be dissolved into water without displacing that oxygen. So take a wild guess what happens when the plants produce co2 when it's dark. That's right, oxygen levels go down. If you are injecting co2 during the day, then oxygen levels are already at less than maximum levels before the lights go out meaning there's even less oxygen to get the fish through the night. This is why an automatic contoller that shuts off the co2 supply when the lights are out is essential when injecting co2. If a diy co2 system is being used, you need to either disconnect the system at night or add an air pump & stone run on a timer to come on at night, causing more surface agitation to gas off the co2 & increase oxygen levels. This is common knowledge & there's countless stories of people finding dead fish & fish gasping at the surface in the morning when they have not shut off the co2 supply or run the air stone at night. A bonus piece of information for you is that co2 gas lowers the ph. So leaving co2 on or failing to add surface agitation at night also causes ph swings which can also stress & kill fish. You have a LOT to learn.
      Here endeth your lesson.

      @@gqwarrior6694 i stopped reading when u said. “Oxygen levels are already less” . Well that simply means u didnt achieve that balance. The balance means u inject the right amount of co2 and switch it off before the lights go out. Hence leaving no additional co2 in the tank at night. If i achieve the right balance ull have good oxygen levels for the plants at night when the light goes off 👍🏼. I stick to my thoughts on this gadget. And if u need it cuz u want an easy way and skip the balancing part then go ahead but let me tell you something. Takashi amano didnt have this device in a lot of his beautiful tanks bud. These gadgets just wana sell those who want the easy way out . Oh i know this is not important but I generally run an air stone two hours before the light come out. Again. The GADGET IS NOT IMPORTANT IF U KNOW HOW TO BALANCE YOUR TANK AT DAY And BEFORE NIGHT 😁. Whatever you are trying to “teach me” is common aquarium knowledge lol.

      @@karkoor Guess you didn't see my reply further up the page about the device because I stated it's a bandaid for people that are too lazy to sort thier problems out. I'd never use rubbish like this myself. My response to you was to your ridiculous stayement that co2 & o2 levels have no effect on each other. That's just as ridiculous as your statement that "ull have good oxygen levels for the plants at night". Oxygen at night is for the fish. The plants don't care about o2 levels at night 🤦‍♂️ Shame you didn't keep reading, you would have learned something. Then again, I'm certain you know more than a person that's been in the planted tank business for over 50 years & that scapes & maintains tanks for a living for the past 18 years. Nice to know that the undergraduate degree in the chemistry of living things I got from UWA is worthless compared to the knowledge possessed by a youtube nobody. Your time would be better spent learning than arguing with me. Go learn
