    The Longines Spirit collection has been expanded with a piece equipped with a flyback function. A new exclusive Longines calibre, resistant to magnetism and equipped with a silicon balance spring, drives this timepiece. Extremely precise, and with a power reserve of 68 hours, this movement is certified as a chronometer by COSC. A transparent case back reveals all the details of the calibre, including a personalised weight engraved with the globe representing the Longines Spirit collection and the name Longines Flyback. This new model is also distinguished by its refined aesthetics and particularly meticulous finishes, which range between satin, matt, polished and engraved details. It features a bi- directional bezel enhanced by a blue ceramic insert with luminescent markers and a blue sunray dial. The 42mm steel case has an interchangeable blue fabric strap, equipped with a folding clasp fitted with a new micro-adjustment system for maximum comfort and a perfect fit.

    It would be great if Longines got their reputation as leaders again. This is a nice watch, if a trifle thick. The fly back function is grand. I’ve never owned that feature and probably wouldn’t need it, but it is nice. I do like the dial, but I’ll have to see it in the metal - also in the black as a comparison. The deployant clasp with the extension looks a winner. Great review as usual.

    Just ordered a blue one on a bracelet. Got a great deal with a trade in for another Spirit Longines, I actually made a hefty increase on what I paid with the trade in, now have their latest quick release bracelet and better clasp at pre price increase rate this week and a Wolf watch winder thrown in to sweeten the deal. Happy!

      @@jasonbevan9115 Perfect timing! Today I've agreed with them to chop in the blue flyback for the titanium flyback with red chrono hand. I couldn't easily read the chrono hand and approached longines but they absolutely refused to fit a red tip chrono hand at my expense. I returned to my local jewellers/watch dealers who sold it to me and they very kindly offered to buy mine back in at what I paid a few months ago and only charge the upgrade cost. I'm not saying what store for a couple of reasons, but they are not a chain.

      @@jasonbevan9115 I think it's a great watch for the money. Many people don't seem to rate Longines for unknown reasons but the whole Spirit line is great IMO. I think the titanium version flyback will become a classic but the other versions are just as great. It wears like a 13mm once on my wrist and the domed crystal is gorgeous. Just go to a chain and ask them to order one in so you can see it in person, that's what I did and then searched for the best deal I could find.

    History will be the reason this Longines Spirit Flyback Chronograph is so interesting (at least for me): Longines invented the Flyback Chronograph in the 1930s for pilots! (They also invented the GMT about 10 years earlier.) Just watch Teddy Baldassarre's visit to Longines (museum and an interview with Longines' CEO)!

      Longines was once the biggest watch manufacture in the world and a real power house. They made some amazing models and movements, its a real shame they are not an Independent anymore

    Love this watch, and great review. Can you please comment on whether the sail cloth is stiff? The look is nice, but I believe sometimes sailcloth has trouble conforming nicely to the wrist - at least initially.

    Hi Barry, nice watch, and beautifully finished. The price of the Valjoux 7750 family is obesity sadly, but they do have a good reputation. There aren't so many flyback chronos, but if I was considering this I'd have to look at the Sinn 910 SRS and Hanhart 417 series for the Flyback, and the lovely Guinand Koenigsblau for the sexy blue dial, although this model doesn't have flyback. Both German watches come with Top grade movements though, and only a detailed specification sheet would reveal the underlying engineering of the Longines calibre. Have a good weekend m8, cheers, Bob 🍻

    Any more thoughts on the height for general wearabillity during the day? Also what about the caseback? I have the spirit zulu time for a year now and I must say the screws on the caseback "hurts" my wrist at the end of the day.

      I've a Sinn 103 which is 17.2 mm and its really comfortable, i never notice the the thickness and the same can be said here , I cant say I had a problem with the case back screws they are set back into the case

      @cosmojames7710 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@ClickSpringReviewisn’t that much to do with the domed crystal on the 103 though? The Longines looks to me like it sits high on the wrist, but appreciate I’ve not tried it on. It looks beautifully finished.

    • @ClickSpringReview
      @ClickSpringReview  11 месяцев назад

      @@cosmojames7710 Both the front and rear crystals are domed on the Sinn its the only watch I've seen like this , The Longines looks thicker because of its case design the same can be said about the Seiko Tuna or Sinn U2 they are flat sided and so look thicker were as the Rolex SD4k is over 15mm but is hidden because of it design

    I think Longines should have gone with a manual wind with the flyback column wheel movement, it would have cut down the thickness to under 14mm as well as the diameter could have come in two sizes. Otherwise, everything about this watch is just stunning. A bit of a high price tag at $4450 but can be found discounted at around 3700 USD
